Chapter 488: Killing the Flood Dragon to Seize the Soul

Boundless Valley.

Qin Sang entered the valley alone, revisiting a familiar place. Boundless Valley was vast and boundless. The areas where cultivators were active were, in fact, only a tiny, insignificant portion. Qin Sang had trained here for over twenty years and knew it like the back of his hand.

With a magic treasure by his side, he could venture into many dangerous places others dared not, and he gained much. However, most of his gains were used to purchase spirit materials for artifact refining and to improve his artifact refining mastery. He even went so far as to exhaust his Cold Gold, forcefully raising his artifact refining skill level.

Successfully entering the second layer of Boundless Valley and passing through the White Stone Wilderness, a barren land appeared before Qin Sang's eyes. This was a stone sea formed by grey rocks, densely packed. The further one went, the larger the rocks became, with the giant boulders in the deepest parts being magnificent, some comparable to mountains.

Around the periphery of the stone sea, numerous groups of demonic beasts could be seen. However, upon entering the deepest part of the stone sea, not a single demonic beast could be spotted. It seemed to be a forbidden zone, a place these beasts dared not trespass. In Boundless Valley, such places were not uncommon, typically serving as lairs for great demons. This Black Flood Dragon's territory was actually not very large, as it was only at the peak Demon Spirit stage.

Qin Sang concealed himself and his aura, silently soaring through the stone sea. Finally, he climbed a towering, mountain-like boulder and looked down. Two giant boulders seemed almost to have grown together, with only a narrow, elongated crack between them. At the bottom of this crack was a hidden chasm, where the Black Flood Dragon was concealed.

The hidden chasm showed no monstrous aura reaching skyward, nor any strange light or thick fog; it appeared unremarkable.

"It couldn't be that it just coincidentally broke through to the Demon Core stage, could it?" Qin Sang stared at the hidden chasm, muttering to himself. He opened his Corpse Puppet Pouch, and the next moment, a black shadow silently appeared beside him—it was the Flying Yaksha. Its speed was so astonishingly fast that the naked eye couldn't even perceive how it appeared, making it extremely eerie.

Now, the Flying Yaksha had fully merged with the corpse core within its abdomen, reaching its peak strength. The Black Flood Dragon would serve as its perfect test.

"Go!" Qin Sang whispered the command. The Flying Yaksha lowered its head, its dark eyes flickering with deep, intelligent-looking gazes, appearing unusually eerie. Immediately, its figure abruptly vanished.

Qin Sang himself did not descend. Instead, he sat cross-legged, took out the Ten Directions Yama Banner, and silently set up a grand formation, also taking out his other magic treasures. Of course, the most important item was still the Nine Dragon Heavenly Chariot Talisman.

The mystic talisman appeared in Qin Sang's palm, and the dragon soul within it conveyed a fawning thought. Qin Sang gripped the talisman, lowered his head, and gazed at the hidden chasm, silently observing the situation.

The hidden chasm was pitch-black, and ancient restrictions were densely laid throughout. The Flying Yaksha swiftly dove down. Qin Sang did not understand the restrictions here as well as the Black Flood Dragon, so the Flying Yaksha inevitably touched some hidden ancient restrictions, quickly exposing its presence.

"Roar!" A furious roar echoed from the depths of the hidden chasm.

*Splash!*

The water here was bone-chillingly cold. In the calm subterranean river, water suddenly splashed everywhere, and immediately after, a gigantic black shadow emerged from the water. The shadow had a slender form, and what was visible above the surface alone was already dozens of feet long.

The Black Flood Dragon's upper body stood upright, its triangular snake head raised high, its crimson tongue flicking. A pair of vertical pupils shone with menacing intent, appearing incredibly sinister in the dim hidden chasm. Unlike the flood dragon beasts Qin Sang had seen before, this Black Flood Dragon had a bulge on its forehead, as if it was about to grow horns.

Its profound black scales were extremely fine and dense, stronger than metal, gleaming with a unique luster, appearing unusually radiant. As the Black Flood Dragon emerged from the water, the river water swiftly slid off its body. Its warning had no effect. The intruder remained brazen, even accelerating. A soaring rage appeared in the Black Flood Dragon's eyes.

*Whoosh!*

A huge wave surged in the subterranean river, and a long flood dragon tail suddenly shot out from the riverbed, whipping up a black whirlwind that emitted a pungent, foul smell. This whirlwind was exceptionally sinister and cold. The surface of the subterranean river actually formed a thick layer of ice at a visible speed. The splashing water waves also instantly turned into ice shards. These ice shards were extraordinary, gleaming with a blue light and incredibly sharp.

The wind was a demonic wind, and the ice was profound ice. The whirlwind and ice shards intertwined, and with a sudden flick of the flood dragon's tail, they charged towards the intruder at an astonishing speed.

Seeing the Flying Yaksha about to be overwhelmed by the colossal assault, Qin Sang, who was sitting cross-legged on the stone, revealed a faint smile.

The Flying Yaksha coldly watched the approaching wind mass, a faint light flickering in its eyes, and then abruptly threw a punch. In front of the enormous wind mass, the Flying Yaksha appeared so tiny. Yet, this single punch held heaven-shaking power.

*Boom!*

The terrifying punch force directly tore a hole through the wind mass. The Flying Yaksha passed through the wind mass, completely unharmed. This astonishing sight made the Black Flood Dragon's two eyeballs suddenly bulge out. The ferocity within them was directly obliterated by that punch, replaced by intense fear.

That dreadful fist rapidly magnified in the Black Flood Dragon's eyes, and it only had time to slightly tilt its head.

*Thud!*

The Black Flood Dragon took a direct hit. Its massive body, like a piece of tattered cloth, was sent flying, crashing heavily against the side wall of the hidden chasm. The Black Flood Dragon had just let out a pained shriek when it was cut short by the Flying Yaksha. At some unknown moment, the Flying Yaksha had eerily appeared behind the Black Flood Dragon, its ghostly claw easily piercing the flood dragon's scales and tearing off a large strip of flesh.

The Black Flood Dragon let out a wail and scurried away in fear.

However, the Black Flood Dragon was, after all, a great demon at the peak Demon Spirit stage. Though it appeared miserable, it was not entirely without resistance. The hidden chasm immediately erupted into chaos, with the figures of the human-like Yaksha and the flood dragon darting wildly about.

Qin Sang remained steadily seated outside the hidden chasm, listening to the occasional shrieks from within. His mind was linked to the Flying Yaksha, and he monitored the changing situation. He did not intend for the Flying Yaksha to kill the Black Flood Dragon. Instead, he wanted the Flying Yaksha to force the flood dragon out, while simultaneously blocking off other escape routes, compelling the Black Flood Dragon to flee upwards. The Nine Dragon Heavenly Chariot Talisman required extracting the flood dragon's essence while it was still alive.

The chaos within the hidden chasm intensified, and Qin Sang felt the giant boulder beneath him vibrate violently. Suddenly, a dense monstrous aura surged skyward. Qin Sang's expression shifted slightly, his eyes gleaming as he gazed at the hidden chasm. A moment later, he saw a flood dragon's figure stumble out of the chasm. Below the flood dragon's figure, the Flying Yaksha pursued fiercely, hot on its heels.

At this point, the Black Flood Dragon was in an extremely sorry state, having completely lost the dignified appearance of a great demon at the peak Demon Spirit stage. It looked utterly pathetic, with several wounds all over its body, each deep enough to expose bone and dripping with blood. One of its eyes had even been gouged out by the Flying Yaksha, leaving a long gash on its head. After this fierce battle, the Black Flood Dragon had no desire to fight whatsoever; it only wanted to escape with its life.

Seeing the Black Flood Dragon forced out, Qin Sang waved his hand. The Ten Directions Yama Banner, which he had long prepared, unfolded with a 'whoosh,' forming a ghost banner formation that tightly enveloped the exit of the hidden chasm, blocking the Black Flood Dragon's path.

*Whoosh, whoosh...*

Endless ghostly flames swarmed out, descending upon the flood dragon, forming a pincer attack with the Flying Yaksha.

The Black Flood Dragon had no escape!
