Chapter 1389: Double-edged Sword

**Wuxia and Xianxia**

Qin Sang stood in mid-air, surrounded by demonic flames.

His gaze swept over Bi Fang, Master Feng, and the man in white, his eyes indifferent.

Bi Fang was held back. Master Feng and the Frogfish lunged forward, vying for supremacy. This situation was intentionally orchestrated by him to buy time, allowing these individuals to hold each other back and focus their energy here.

Master Feng rapidly approached the man in white, eager to make his move. Threads reappeared on his left arm. However, this time it wasn't a single thread; a cluster of threads spontaneously formed into a square scroll.

Inside the scroll, there was only the image of a tornado; nothing else, and the background was a faint blue, whether sky or sea was unclear. The scroll appeared ethereal. The tornado actually rotated within the scroll, its speed increasing until only a blurred column of wind was visible. The void around the scroll began to distort, seemingly influenced by the image within. However, no abnormalities appeared elsewhere.

Upon seeing this, the Frogfish's expression changed drastically, and he inwardly thought, "This is bad!"

"Shatter!"

Just as the Frogfish was in utter distress, Master Feng stared at the man in white's back and coldly uttered a single word! The tornado suddenly burst out of the scroll. What appeared to be a slender column of wind emitted a deafening roar, shaking heaven and earth. In an instant, the tornado swelled to dozens of zhang, sweeping over a stone mountain and directly leveling its peak, leaving behind a bare platform.

A streak of blue light detached from the tornado and shot out, leaving trails of blue afterimages in the void. Only as it neared the man in white could one clearly see it was a wind cone.

It seemed like a simple attack. Yet the man in white had no escape! In this moment of crisis, he had no choice but to resort to his old trick: an ice shield manifested behind him. This time, however, it was different; it seemed to be the artifact's true form, creating a translucent blue light curtain.

No sooner had the ice shield appeared than the wind cone tore through the air to meet it. After a harsh grinding sound, the outer light curtain of the ice shield was effortlessly pierced by the wind cone.

Boom!

The ice shield, its main body impacted by the wind cone, shook violently without cease. The two forces refused to yield, emitting a 'crack' sound. Two shocking cracks burst forth from where the wind cone's tip pressed, and a large chunk of the ice shield artifact actually broke off!

Pfft!

The man in white's chest was pierced by the residual power of the wind cone, revealing a bleeding hole. He instantly spat blood and plummeted headfirst to the ground. However, his will to survive was incredibly tenacious; his mutilated body swayed as it flew up, mustering its remaining strength to continue fleeing.

Master Feng seemed to sense something and frowned. But before he could ponder further, the Frogfish could no longer hold back and attacked him. The man in white was gravely wounded, at the end of his tether, and incapable of causing any more trouble. What the Frogfish needed to do was prevent the man in white from falling into Master Feng's hands.

Dark green light obscured Master Feng's vision, and the very void around him was frozen. Master Feng snorted coldly and tapped the scroll. A new tornado appeared within the scroll. This time, however, it did not manifest as a wind cone; instead, like a fierce gale scattering clouds, it blew the green light into disarray. His figure then merged with the wind column, surging rapidly forward.

The Frogfish knew Master Feng was difficult to deal with. Seeing this, he gnashed his teeth, a strange gurgling sound emanating from his throat as he spat out a green pellet. It resembled a demon core, yet also some kind of treasure. As soon as the pellet appeared, the green light finally stabilized, albeit barely, and grew increasingly dense. The human and the demon each displayed their unique powers, entangled in combat, but still rapidly closing in on the man in white.

Meanwhile, Qin Sang himself, while seemingly fully activating his demonic flames to contend with Bi Fang, most of it was merely bluster. His greater focus was on sensing the distant Nascent Soul Talisman Puppet and the Celestial Eye Butterfly.

Outside the desolate island, as the powerful cultivators chased the man in white, the Rainbow Rat struggled to escape, finally spotting a storm band resembling a natural barrier, and plunged into it.

Phew!

The Rainbow Rat let out a long breath, its eyes darting around. Entering the chaotic storm band would completely erase its traces; even if those individuals gave chase, they would never find it. Just then, a look of struggle reappeared in the Rainbow Rat's eyes, and the fluctuations were more intense than before.

"No need to rush! In a moment, I will properly deal with you, repaying you for the favor of chasing me for thousands of miles!" The Rainbow Rat seemed to be speaking to itself, muttering with a chilling tone.

At this moment, the Rainbow Rat was actually possessed by the man in white, its body occupied! With so many powerful experts drawn to the desolate island, the man in white knew that he had no chance of escape relying on his own power alone. He had already fallen into despair when he unexpectedly discovered that the Rainbow Rat had, for some unknown reason, fallen into a state of weakness. The man in white conceived a plan and saw a glimmer of hope.

Following his previous plan, he used the ice casket and spirit formations to attract the attention of others, while he decisively abandoned his physical body. His primordial spirit, following the connection of the mark, accurately located the Rainbow Rat's true form. Such tracking secret arts were inherently a double-edged sword. Especially when the caster fell into weakness, they could easily become a death warrant. Back then, when Old Demon Mu and Qin Sang had an even greater disparity in cultivation, Old Demon Mu used a similar curse to pursue Qin Sang. However, Qin Sang ultimately utilized the Fire Curse Seed to pinpoint his remnant soul and instantly eradicate him.

The Rainbow Rat's main body had not yet fully transformed and was precisely in a weakened state, making it normal for the man in white to take advantage of its vulnerability. It never imagined that the man in white still had the power to retaliate. The man in white forcibly possessed the Rainbow Rat, temporarily suppressing its consciousness and taking control. He secretly sent a telepathic message to Bi Fang and the other demons, misleading them and guiding them towards his abandoned physical body. Bi Fang, suspecting nothing, indeed fell for the trick. The man in white then manipulated the Rainbow Rat's body and fled. If not for the anomaly that was the Celestial Eye Butterfly, the man in white would have succeeded. Once safe, he could have properly dealt with the Rainbow Rat, achieving both revenge and escape.

"Who!"

The man in white, occupying the Rainbow Rat's body, his sharp snout contorted into a strange smile that suddenly froze on his face. He spun around sharply. Behind him, a mysterious black-robed figure had appeared. The man in white felt as though he had plunged into an ice cellar. The black-robed figure had been following behind him, unnoticed, for an unknown period. His supposedly flawless plan had already been seen through. He noticed that this person was not the Nascent Soul cultivator who had appeared on the desolate mountain. Could there be a third party, circling outside the island, waiting to ambush?

"No! That's not it!" The man in white forced himself to calm down, finally noticing a clue. "It's not a cultivator, it's a puppet!"

No sooner had this thought crossed his mind than the man in white suddenly felt a strong gust of wind approach and hurriedly dodged. This location was almost at the limit of Qin Sang's perception range. He could only issue the most direct commands through the soul imprint. Having just been pursued, he felt no need to be polite to the demons of the North Sea.

The Nascent Soul Talisman Puppet acted without hesitation. The man in white was greatly alarmed and dodged in a panic. But he was possessing the Rainbow Rat and also had to divert his attention to suppress its consciousness. With little strength remaining, he was no match for the Nascent Soul Talisman Puppet and immediately found himself in perilous situations.

Thwack!

A large hand tore through the air. Just as he was about to be disemboweled, a white shadow flashed from the Rainbow Rat's body. It seemed not to be a Nascent Soul, but a phantom spirit body.

Crackle!

A bolt of lightning struck suddenly. Seeing the spirit body attempt to escape, the Celestial Eye Butterfly acted promptly. The spirit body was greatly terrified and hastily retreated back into the Rainbow Rat's body.

"Tribulation Lightning!" The man in white was utterly stunned and blurted it out, regretting it the very instant he spoke!
