Chapter 1230: Revenge

The Human World

Pang Ji circled the ice palace and discovered a teleportation array. Only then did it realize that Qin Sang had used this very array last time to teleport, find its home, and steal the Boundless Blood Mulberry fragment.

However, the teleportation array was unresponsive; the array on the opposite side was already damaged.

Qin Sang buried Wushang’s body in the ice palace, erected a monument, and then sealed the palace.

After leaving the ice palace, Pang Ji wanted to revisit its old cave.

The Tunleisun’s cave was actually deep within the inner valley.

Wuya Valley was rife with restrictions and spatial distortions. Qin Sang followed Pang Ji for a long time before finally seeing the familiar ice mountain and the boundless, cloud-like Xuan Shuang Sha Feng.

“Oh?”

Qin Sang passed through the Xuan Shuang Sha Feng and saw the entrance to the Tunleisun’s cave. Sensing that the cave now had an occupant, his expression shifted slightly as he glanced at Pang Ji.

Pang Ji chuckled foolishly, “I can’t hide anything from your sharp eyes, Master. My mother’s cave was taken over by a wretched fox not long after she disappeared. I was just a small fry back then, and it chased me everywhere, nowhere to run or hide. Luckily, my mother left me a few life-saving treasures, or I would have met a tragic end. Afterward, I was homeless, endured countless hardships, and was nearly captured by cultivators, flayed, dismembered, and refined into magical artifacts. My hatred will never be appeased until I avenge this!”

Pang Ji gritted its teeth as it recalled its miserable past.

Although the Tunleisun Demon King had disappeared, it had left behind an excellent cave and numerous treasures. Pang Ji should have been able to cultivate peacefully to the Demon Core stage or even higher, and then venture out to find a way to save its mother.

Unexpectedly, the cave was seized by an uninvited guest.

A dignified descendant of a Demon King was reduced to a stray dog.

Pang Ji narrowly escaped, living in a sorry state, constantly hiding.

“No need to trouble you, Master. I’ll settle this score myself!”

Pang Ji let out a sharp cry and swooped down like a bolt of lightning, plummeting straight into the ice cave. Immediately after, a rapid, exceptionally sharp shriek echoed from within the cave.

‘Boom!’

The cold wind in the ice cave dispersed with a crash. Thunderous light and blue light erupted from the cave, radiating dazzling brilliance.

Pang Ji flew back out of the ice cave, closely followed by a streak of blue light. It was a blue fox, about the size of a calf, its aura surprisingly comparable to Pang Ji’s.

Years had passed. The blue fox had occupied this excellent cave, cultivated diligently day and night, and had grown into a great demon in the late Demon Core stage. Otherwise, Pang Ji would have sought revenge much earlier.

Enemies meeting, their eyes blazed with hatred.

The two demonic beasts instantly lunged at each other.

Qin Sang glanced over, noting that the blue fox was quite fierce and strong. However, it still couldn't compare to Pang Ji, who had absorbed the Qingluan's thunderous power and wielded the Demon King's treasured artifact.

Pang Ji's victory was only a matter of time.

Lacking interest, he withdrew his gaze, flew out of the wind layer, and observed this rarely visited area.

Outside the cave.

The two demons engaged in hundreds of rounds of combat in the blink of an eye.

They fought from the ground to the sky, and then from the sky back to the ground.

For a time, roars shook the heavens.

Glaciers cracked, and gales howled.

Pang Ji finally vented its anger, sparing no effort and unleashing all its divine abilities. Blue lightning permeated its body, shooting out bolts of thunder, as if possessed by the Qingluan, exuding extraordinary might.

The blue fox gradually felt its strength wane, its eyes darting about nervously. It hadn't expected the small demon it had chased away back then to now be stronger and seeking revenge.

Though it had never consumed Imperial Nectar, it had lived for a long time, and its intelligence was also quite high.

The enemy was too powerful to contend with, and the thought of fleeing had already taken root in its mind.

‘Puff!’

The blue fox spat out a cloud of cold qi, a wisp of spiritual wind refined from years of absorbing the essence of Xuan Shuang Sha Feng.

Pang Ji dared not take it head-on and quickly dodged.

Unexpectedly, as the cold qi approached, it suddenly condensed into a sharp blade, its speed surging. It instantly pierced through space, striking towards Pang Ji’s chest. It looked as if it would pass through its body and slay Pang Ji.

The blue fox didn’t even look at the outcome. It flicked its tail, turned, and prepared to flee.

“I’ve been waiting for that move!”

Pang Ji smiled instead of panicking. It opened its large mouth, and the treasured bead left by the Demon King floated out lightly.

The bead looked flimsy, but the ice blade struck it, not only failing to harm the bead in the slightest but instantly turning into dust.

Pang Ji laughed wildly, its wings came together, and it lunged straight at the blue fox.

Lightning shimmered on its sharp claws, intending to crush the blue fox’s skull.

The blue fox dodged hastily but could not keep up with Pang Ji’s continuous attacks. It was unexpectedly struck by a lightning bolt that shattered its protective spiritual light, hitting a vital point, sending it plummeting from the clouds to crash heavily onto the ice, where it rolled into a heap.

Severely injured, the blue fox was powerless to escape. It lay on its back, paws in the air, pleading for mercy from the charging Pang Ji, wailing repeatedly.

Remembering past grievances, Pang Ji’s blood surged. It could not allow its enemy to live. Mercilessly, it disemboweled the blue fox, its sharp claws tearing wildly, pulling out the blue fox’s demon core, and swallowing it whole.

Having successfully avenged itself, Pang Ji then tidied up the cave, which the blue fox had made a mess of, before rushing to rejoin Qin Sang.

Qin Sang did not ask about the process. He put Pang Ji into the Primal Unity Ring and set off towards the Blood Lake.

The depths of Wuya Valley were as dangerous as the Abyssal Void, making every step difficult.

However, Qin Sang moved freely in the Abyssal Void, so these obstacles naturally did not deter him.

It was still early for the appointed time, so Qin Sang took the opportunity to explore Wuya Valley. He collected several kinds of spiritual herbs and fruits, but the Killing Sword Spirit still showed no reaction.

Five days later, Qin Sang found the Blood Lake.

“Daoist Mingyue has arrived.”

There were actually over a dozen figures at the edge of the Blood Lake.

The one who greeted Qin Sang was Xiang Qing. Being closest to Wuya Valley, he was the first to arrive.

They had teamed up to subdue the Ancestral Sacred Fire at Divine Gang Peak, so they had some rapport.

Next to Xiang Qing was a Nascent Soul stage demonic cultivator, who had been monitoring the Blood Lake’s seal recently, allowing him to send back news in time.

Besides them, everyone else present were Golden Core cultivators.

“Daoist Xiang, Daoist Hong…” Qin Sang greeted them.

He was surprised to see the Golden Core cultivators standing far aside, whispering amongst themselves.

The Blood Lake was not just one difficult challenge; even Nascent Soul ancestors needed to be cautious inside.

The purpose of entering the Blood Lake was to scheme against the Sin Abyss. These Golden Core cultivators would not only be unhelpful but would also become a burden.

Xiang Qing glanced at them and said calmly, “They are desperate adventurers who somehow learned about the Blood Lake’s appearance and want to fish in troubled waters. Back then, the Boundless Blood Mulberry was discovered in the Blood Lake, so perhaps someone with profound fortune will appear this time. However, it’s hard to say how many will come out alive.”

Qin Sang noticed that these people were mostly disciples of major sects, well-informed, probably guided by their sect elders.

Though they did not lack cultivation resources, it was common for them to be stuck at a bottleneck for a hundred years. Many daring individuals explored various forbidden lands and secret realms in search of opportunities.

Qin Sang himself had followed a similar path.

“This is the Blood Lake? It’s smaller than the one in the Abyssal Void…” Qin Sang took a few steps forward, examining the Blood Lake.

The Blood Lake was nestled between two cloud formations created by ancient restrictions, with only a strip-like gap visible. They were standing at one end of this gap.

Strangely, the Blood Lake was suspended in mid-air, not touching the sky or ground, continuously emitting blood energy.
