Qin Sang left the Heavenly Corpse Sect's sub-altar, taking the fat chicken with him, and flew out of the Heavenly Mark.
Arriving at a secluded spot, Qin Sang unrolled the geomancy map Senior Sister Qingjun had given him. He finally confirmed the location marked on the map where the altar's black mist had manifested.
"So it's here!"
The marked location, which Qin Sang suspected to be the Heavenly Corpse Sect's main altar, was situated deep within the Heavenly Mark, a place difficult for ordinary people to reach. Nearby, there was a forbidden area: the Sin Abyss!
That place was called the Abyssal Ruins, and the entrance to the Sin God Palace was located there. The Lesser Cold Domain and the Heavenly Alliance had limited knowledge of the Abyssal Ruins. Qin Sang only knew that the Abyssal Ruins contained more than just the Sin God Palace secret realm, but the entire Abyssal Ruins had only one entrance.
The Sin God Palace, discovered by Sin Abyss cultivators later in the Abyssal Ruins, was undoubtedly the most important secret realm, possibly even the core of the entire Abyssal Ruins. To enter the Sin God Palace, one must first enter the Abyssal Ruins!
Of course, there was still a long distance between the Heavenly Corpse Sect's main altar and the Abyssal Ruins entrance; otherwise, Qin Sang would have had to weigh whether or not to go.
Qin Sang looked at the map, thinking to himself that the Heavenly Corpse Sect was indeed quite bold. The major powers of the Sin Abyss must have been constantly monitoring the Abyssal Ruins entrance. If the Heavenly Corpse Sect made any mistake and exposed the main altar's location, it would inevitably invite disaster.
Qin Sang mused, "Senior Sister Qingjun once tried to peek into the Abyssal Ruins and the Sin God Palace, and she figured out the defensive forces near the Sin God Palace. The main altar isn't within the alert range. However, the Heavenly Corpse Sect actually hid its main altar so close to a forbidden area. It seems that all major sub-altars with altars are also hidden deep within the Heavenly Mark. So mysterious, no wonder almost no information can be found about them outside."
Continuing south from the Southern Hermit Mountain Range would lead to the southernmost tip of the Heavenly Mark, the most desolate and barren place. However, the marked location was still north of Proximity Mark Mountain. Qin Sang needed to return along the same path. After crossing Proximity Mark Mountain, since he couldn't recklessly use evasion techniques, he estimated it would take another day's journey.
Qin Sang folded the geomancy map, quietly flew north, passed Proximity Mark Mountain, and reached his destination.
The Heavenly Mark was a thousand miles wide here. Qin Sang was now back on the eastern side of the Heavenly Mark. Standing at its edge and looking west, even with the Celestial Eye Butterfly's vision, he couldn't see the opposite shore. Qin Sang glanced north again; the Abyssal Ruins entrance was still to the north. That area was heavily guarded, but Qin Sang's current location was much less restricted. The patrolling forces were not much stronger than those around Proximity Mark Mountain, allowing him to blend in easily.
After a brief pause, Qin Sang leaped into the Heavenly Mark. The scenery in the upper layers of the Heavenly Mark was largely similar, the only difference being the degree of danger. Of course, this level of danger had no impact on Qin Sang. He strolled through the Heavenly Mark, quickly descending, brushing past fragments of ancient restrictions without causing any disturbance.
The dim Heavenly Mark appeared unusually mysterious. Unbeknownst to him, Qin Sang had covered more than half the journey. The further down he went, the more prevalent the dangers became. Qin Sang's expression grew a little more serious, and his escape light was like a phantom, silent and elusive.
"Here!"
Qin Sang appeared in a cluster of trees. These plants, though alive, were entirely black and emitted a decaying aura. His gaze swept around, finally settling on a clearing at the edge of the forest. There were only a few unremarkable stones in the clearing, yet this was the marked location. Although Qin Sang knew the activation method from the altar's black mist, he didn't act rashly. Instead, he first activated his Celestial Eye to observe and easily discovered something unusual.
"Even the Celestial Eye Butterfly shouldn't detect it this easily. Could it be because someone has been here?"
Just then, the fat chicken jumped out, eager to prove itself, and went in first to scout. The fat chicken had wanted to do this last time, but Qin Sang had refused, considering the Witch clan restrictions.
"Alright, I'll set up a grand array outside to provide support. If you find anything unusual, come out immediately." After a brief ponder, Qin Sang agreed.
He first activated his Heavenly Demon Transformation and conjured the Twelve Demonic Banners, standing ready. Then he shot a streak of light towards the center of the clearing, and the fat chicken, standing there, vanished into thin air. Soon after, the fat chicken flew out, safe and sound. "Master, there's no one inside."
As expected! Qin Sang nodded, rolled up the demonic banners, and entered the secret realm. Then his feet found nothing, and Qin Sang realized he was in mid-air, with a vast ocean beneath him!
The fat chicken followed behind Qin Sang. "I just flew a circle around the area. There's only this grand hall floating in the middle; everywhere else is empty. Beneath the water, there's only an altar directly below the grand hall."
Following the fat chicken's indication, Qin Sang saw a black grand hall built on the water's surface. His figure rapidly descended, landing in front of the hall's entrance. The hall door was open. Qin Sang walked inside and saw several shelves and tables, all empty without exception. Clearly, someone had already beaten them to it. After circling around, he found nothing.
Qin Sang was about to enter the water to find the altar the fat chicken mentioned when his figure suddenly froze, staring intently at the water's surface.
"Master, what's wrong?" The fat chicken felt a chill, as it hadn't sensed anything amiss and had just been submerged.
"This isn't just water, or rather, it's more than just water. A strange restriction has merged with the water. If not for the Celestial Eye Butterfly, I probably would have overlooked it..."
Qin Sang reached out and scooped up a handful, and immediately the Celestial Eye Butterfly detected that the power receded like a tide.
"How strange..." Qin Sang frowned. The restriction was integrated into the water, seemingly present yet absent, and yet it didn't affect people in the water. This was the first time he had encountered such a peculiar phenomenon.
After thinking for a moment, Qin Sang tentatively entered the water. Beneath the water was a circular altar, very similar to the previous one, but this altar was much larger in scale, and the runes inscribed on it were more complex.
"Indeed, this is very likely the Heavenly Corpse Sect's main altar!" Qin Sang nodded silently, parted the water, and floated above the altar. Then, his expression subtly changed. He suddenly reached into the water and seized a wisp of golden thread, finer than a needlepoint, which landed in his hand.
Sensing the aura emanating from the golden thread, Qin Sang's heart filled with joy. "Sharp Gold Qi! It's the *Sharp Gold Art*!" The *Sharp Gold Art* was precisely Tan Hao's main cultivation technique after forming his Core!
He made several more moves, drawing in several more wisps of Sharp Gold Qi from other places. "Most of my previous conjectures have been confirmed here. Tan Hao indeed came here. He made a move in the water, and the lingering aura hasn't dispersed even now, still sealed by the underwater restriction."
Qin Sang looked at the altar. He didn't know much about the Heavenly Corpse Sect, so he could only forcefully inject his divine sense to try and activate the altar. But the altar remained unresponsive. No matter what Qin Sang did, it was like a stone sinking into the sea.
A moment later, Qin Sang flew out of the water. He had some conjectures that needed to be verified. Next, Qin Sang ordered the fat chicken to guard the entrance to prevent them from being trapped inside unknowingly. Then, he sat cross-legged in front of the grand hall, his mind merging with the Celestial Eye Butterfly, staring at the water's surface, fully concentrating on analyzing the restriction within the water. The restriction was extremely vast. Qin Sang started from where he found the Sharp Gold Qi and gradually began to discern some clues.
