Chapter 1165: Demon King Council Meeting

Establishing a sect was truly no simple matter.

After settling matters at the Demonic Flame Gate, Qin Sang began his journey back. Reflecting on the past few days' busyness, he felt a weariness and couldn't help but sigh with emotion. Being the revered leader of a sect, whose word was law and commands absolute, and enjoying the worship of thousands of disciples—it certainly seemed like a rewarding experience. However, it wasn't what he truly sought. His original intention was simply to take on a few capable disciples.

Fortunately, he now had several useful individuals under his command. Li Yufu and Aunt Mei were both capable of handling tasks independently and could become the sect's mainstays in the future. Zhao Shanran and Tan Yien's talents were slightly lesser, but Qin Sang had no shortage of Fiendish Demon Pills and intended to help them achieve Core Formation. Both had good temperaments: one could assist Aunt Mei and become familiar with sect affairs, while the other was versatile and adept at handling various internal and external matters for the sect.

Furthermore, Azure Sheep Temple, much like the Spirit Control Sect, possessed unparalleled advantages over other sects. By forming an alliance with the demon race in the Thousand Mountain Bamboo Sea, disciples within the sect could attempt to gain recognition from spirit beasts, thereby establishing a sect that spanned both human and demon races. As long as the ancient teleportation array remained, there would be a continuous supply of Fiendish Demon Pills in the future.

Of course, compared to other renowned major sects, Azure Sheep Temple still had a long way to go, especially regarding its foundation and successors. Even Li Yufu, with the highest cultivation, was only in the early Core Formation stage, far from Nascent Soul. Qin Sang clearly understood that these things could not be rushed. With him present, Azure Sheep Temple's strength would undoubtedly grow. The basic framework was already in place; they simply needed to find another location rich in spiritual energy to serve as the main sect headquarters. In the future, Qin Sang would not devote too much energy to the sect; his own cultivation was the fundamental priority.

On his return journey, Qin Sang once again detoured to Shaohua Mountain, hoping to see Mu Yifeng. He had missed him last time. Mu Yifeng had become an ascetic, constantly in secluded cultivation. At that time, Qin Sang had not dared to contact Mu Yifeng carelessly, as it might have implicated him. This time, Shaohua Mountain had already been sealed off early, and Qin Sang still didn't manage to meet him in person.

Qin Sang considered this, not feeling overly anxious. He was certainly heading to the front lines, and if Mu Yifeng was there, they could meet. His current strength was far greater than before, and protecting Mu Yifeng's safety was within his capabilities.

Subsequently, Qin Sang returned to the Primordial Mirage Gate, intending to wait until he completed the first step of his cultivation technique—projecting all the killing talismans into his sword soul—before undertaking any further actions. Unexpectedly, upon his return, Qin Sang found that the gluttonous and lustful duo of birds had arrived and had been waiting for him for many days.

"Master! You're finally back, this humble one has waited so long! A day without seeing you feels like three autumns. A year without seeing you feels like..." The fat chicken pounced forward, its face full of fawning flattery, spewing words like a rushing river. Mid-sentence, it realized it was only flapping its mouth without making a sound and, sensing Qin Sang's displeased expression, wisely shut up.

"Didn't White Crane come with you? Where is it?" No sooner had Qin Sang asked than he heard a crane's cry from afar. White Crane was flying alongside a multicolored spirit bird, their wings beating in unison. Mid-flight, White Crane gracefully waved its wings, bidding farewell to the spirit bird, which chirped mournfully, reluctant to part.

"Master, all is well." White Crane dared not act too flamboyant in front of Qin Sang and was very respectful.

Qin Sang sneered, "You dare to flirt around everywhere even in human territory? I think you've lived long enough! Don't you only fancy descendants of the Phoenix clan? A mere spirit bird, still in the Mortal Demon stage and only recently enlightened, can make you linger?"

White Crane sighed deeply. "The demon race in this realm is truly disappointing; I can't even find a single phoenix-blooded descendant, so I had to settle for less. Although she's only in the Mortal Demon stage, her wings are exceptionally well-formed, straight and stiff, with clear patterns. The curve of her small beak is breathtaking, especially captivating. Though she has many flaws—her feathers aren't vibrant enough, the color patches are too messy, her voice isn't crisp enough, and so on—she's still quite rare..." As it spoke, it smacked its beak. White Crane's expression carried a hint of melancholy; stranded in this place, it wondered when it could ever return to its homeland's splendor. Qin Sang had even ordered it to keep silent, not daring to mention anything about the Demon Sea.

Qin Sang's eye twitched. This lustful bird was speaking with such conviction, yet he couldn't see what made that spirit bird prettier than others.

"Speak. What's the matter?" Ignoring the melancholic White Crane, Qin Sang looked at the fat chicken.

"Reporting, Master, Elder Liu sent us here. The Feather Demon King sent word that there will be a meeting in Myriad Demon City soon, inquiring if Master and Senior Bamboo Demon have time to attend. It's not mandatory." The fat chicken handed Qin Sang a jade slip.

Qin Sang's eyes flashed. "Has there been any change in the war?" The fat chicken hesitated. "Elder Monkey just sent back news; it seems everything is normal on the front lines."

After reading the jade slip, Qin Sang learned that one of the purposes of this meeting was related to the Ziwei Palace. Qin Sang pondered for a moment, then nodded. "Very well, go back and tell Elder Liu that I will personally make a trip to Myriad Demon City."

"Master, Master..." The fat chicken, its face full of fawning, edged closer. "If you disguise yourself as a Demon King without a mount and attendants, wouldn't it diminish your prestige? Our cultivation is decent; why don't you let us stay by your side? We can help you with minor tasks."

"Brownnoser!" White Crane couldn't stand it, muttering under its breath, then scurried along.

Qin Sang considered it for a moment and agreed. The fat chicken had roamed the demon territory for many years; bringing them along would prevent him from revealing his true identity due to unfamiliarity with the demon domain. Qin Sang decided not to return to the Primordial Mirage Gate and continued northward, now accompanied by the two birds.

He passed by Li Yufu's cave dwelling. Li Yufu and Tan Yien came out to greet him and shared some good news.

"Martial Uncle, Han Qiu has sensed an opportunity for Foundation Establishment and is now in secluded cultivation to break through."

"Excellent. This should be her last chance; I hope she seizes it. Yien, I asked you to contact your father's old acquaintances before. Have you found any leads?" Qin Sang looked at Tan Yien.

Tan Yien replied, "In recent years, following your instructions, Martial Uncle, I've managed to contact a few of my late father's old friends or their families. They either died accidentally, or were stuck in the Foundation Establishment stage with their lifespans nearing their end, with no hope for further cultivation, and had lost contact with my father long ago. However, one of my uncles confirmed that two seniors had close dealings with my father in his final period, both of whom were Golden Core cultivators. One was a rogue cultivator, and the other a disciple of a major sect, but both have been dispatched to the battlefield, making it impossible to contact them for now."

"Battlefield?" Qin Sang's heart stirred. "I'm heading to Heavenly Demon Mound, and I was planning to visit the front lines after I return. Yien, you should go to Cangheng Island first and wait for me; you'll come with me. Yufu, this time I traveled to the demonic territories and took on a disciple. I had left a 'seed' there years ago, and I didn't expect it to grow into such a mighty tree... When you have time, you can go and assist them, get to know them. The Demonic Flame Gate will eventually be incorporated into Azure Sheep Temple."

Hearing this, Li Yufu's face immediately lit up with pleasant surprise. "I will go tomorrow, Master!" Everything is difficult at the beginning; he had racked his brains and realized that establishing a sect involved countless complexities, truly not simple at all. With the foundation of the Demonic Flame Gate, developing Azure Sheep Temple would be much easier.
