Chapter 814: Bloodstained Jasmine (7)

Chaotic profound energy fluctuations emanated from the communication jades of Xuanyuan Wentian and many elders of the Sword Region. Some Sword Region elders picked up their jades with trembling hands, and the voices coming from them grew increasingly terrified.

“Northern Region… the Northern Region is gone!”

“Thirteenth Elder, just now… just now, a spatial rift dozens of miles long appeared in the sky! The Northern Region… the entire Northern Region suddenly rose up and was sucked into that spatial rift…”

“…All the medicinal herbs, profound beasts, and people in the Northern Region have vanished… This is real! It’s true… Everyone saw it with their own eyes!”

“Master, something terrible has happened, the Northern Region has disappeared… Quickly report to the Sword Master!”

A series of voices from the Sword Region disciples confirmed to everyone that what had just transpired was no illusion, no nightmare, but a reality ten million times more terrifying than any dream!

Qu Fengyi’s body swayed. Despite possessing profound energy at the peak of the Emperor Realm, she now felt utterly weak and sore, almost collapsing several times as she trembled.

Destroying the Northern Region of the Heavenly Might Sword Region from seventy thousand miles away with a mere gesture… it meant that for the red-dressed girl, making the entire Supreme Ocean Palace, right beneath their feet, vanish would be effortless.

They had previously moved against Yun Che for the Samsara Mirror. Now, with the Heavenly Might Sword Region’s tragedy unfolding before their eyes, it would naturally be the turn of the other three Sacred Grounds. While the Supreme Emperor Sacred Realm might have a chance of preservation due to Xia Yuanba’s presence, his Supreme Ocean Palace certainly did not!

“Brother-in-law, is she… is she truly your… master?” Xia Yuanba, whose profound energy seal had been lifted, stumbled over to Yun Che’s side, his eyes wide. He stammered out the simple question.

“Yes,” Yun Che nodded, answering truthfully. “She was the one who repaired my profound veins, taught me to cultivate, and guided my training seven years ago.”

“Then she… no, this senior, who… who exactly is she?” Xia Yuanba took a shallow breath. “No wonder Brother-in-law became so powerful in just a few years. To think such an incredible person exists in this world… it’s simply like a dream.”

“‘Senior’?” Yun Che chuckled. “She’s actually younger than you, about Xue’er’s age.”

Xia Yuanba’s mouth twitched. He stood stunned for a long moment before letting out a sudden, strange cry: “Huh!?”

Fenghuang Xue’er and Fenghuang Zukui, who were nearby, overheard their conversation and were instantly wide-eyed with shock.

“Jasmine, she’s already twenty…” Yun Che muttered to himself, lost in thought as he gazed at the young girl standing in the arena, inspiring fear and trembling in all four Sacred Grounds.

When he first met Jasmine, she was only thirteen. At that time, despite her efforts to appear cold, arrogant, and mature, the innocence of a young girl would often inadvertently surface. She would pout, get exasperated, act impulsively, and liked cute things, especially red ones. She would often lose herself in thought or feel bewildered, scolding him harshly over trivial matters she disliked, and even once, unable to maintain her stubborn facade, she shed tears…

Over the years, he had grown, and Jasmine had grown too. Her appearance remained unchanged since their first meeting, but her disposition was no longer that of a thirteen-year-old girl; she had become much calmer and more mature.

The occasional murderous aura she now exuded was also far more condensed than it had been back then.

Jasmine slowly lowered the arm she had pointed at the sky, letting out a faint cold snort. She didn’t press Xuanyuan Wentian further on her previous questions, nor did she even spare him another glance. Her eyes, glowing with an eerie red light, suddenly shifted to the direction of the Sun Moon Divine Hall, her gaze fixing on Ye Meixie.

Suddenly, under Jasmine’s gaze, Ye Meixie recoiled as if struck by lightning, stumbling back a step. His face seemed to have been punched hard, all his muscles clenching tightly in extreme tension and fear.

“Ye Meixie,” Jasmine uttered faintly. Ye Meixie, hearing his name, felt his body turn cold and stiff, nearly collapsing. “Just now, this princess heard you declare that you have never known how to write the word ‘regret’ in your life, is that correct?”

“Heavenly… Heavenly Monarch.” The five Divine Envoys of the Sun Moon Divine Hall stood just ten steps behind Ye Meixie. Each of them wore a terrified expression, yet none dared to move forward. The twenty-three severed heads of the Heavenly Might Sword Region elders, instantly cut down, still lay bloody on the ground, occasionally rolling.

Ye Meixie trembled as he raised his head, bowing humbly and respectfully to Jasmine. “This junior… this junior spoke ignorantly and recklessly. I beg… I beg senior for forgiveness.”

He wouldn’t have dared to believe, even if beaten to death, that the terrifying girl before him was only one percent of his age.

“‘Senior’?” Jasmine’s eyebrows arched, clearly displeased with the address. She stated coldly, “What? Have you suddenly remembered how to write the word ‘regret’?”

“Yes… I know, I know,” Ye Meixie lowered his head, not daring to meet Jasmine’s eyes. He had been the Heavenly Monarch of the Divine Hall for a millennium, yet now, the supreme overlord of a thousand years had become timid and subservient.

He could be unyielding, could laugh arrogantly, but it depended on who he faced. Compared to Jasmine’s earth-shattering power, his own nearly invincible strength was as insignificant as a speck of dust before a vast ocean. To posture as a Heavenly Monarch in front of her would be an utter joke.

“Is that so?” Jasmine scoffed coldly. “Since you know, then write it for this princess to see, so I can confirm you truly understand. Write it properly, for if you fail, the consequences will be very severe!”

Ye Meixie froze, and everyone from the Sun Moon Divine Hall turned deathly pale with fright. What constituted ‘severe consequences’? The Heavenly Might Northern Region, reduced to ashes, was a nightmarish precedent!

“Yes… I’ll write, I’ll write it now.”

Despite the immense humiliation, Ye Meixie dared not voice a single objection or sign of defiance, not even an extra word or movement. He tremblingly bent down and extended a finger. He had initially intended to carve the words onto the profound stone with profound energy, but after a moment’s thought, he quickly changed his mind, using profound qi to burst his finger, scattering drops of blood. On the blue-green profound stone, stroke by painstaking stroke, he carefully wrote the two words: “regret.”

Every stroke, every line, embodied his life’s greatest terror, shame… and the profound regret of having provoked a terrifying demon god. It was also the first time in his life he had written two words so meticulously, fearing the slightest deviation in any stroke.

After writing these two simple words, Ye Meixie was drenched in sweat. He curled his finger back, stood up, and every hair on his body trembled violently.

“Hmph, you wrote it quite well.” Jasmine narrowed her eyes. “It seems you’ll never forget how to write these two words for the rest of your life. Very good, you’re much more obedient than Xuanyuan Wentian. Since that’s the case, this princess will temporarily spare your life.”

As soon as her voice fell, a faint red light flickered briefly in Jasmine’s pupils.

Splat!

Four jets of blood shot out from Ye Meixie’s wrists and ankles. He let out a pained cry, collapsing to the ground, his entire body convulsing in agony. Yet, he dared not use profound energy to suppress his injuries.

“Heavenly… Heavenly Monarch!!” All the Divine Envoys and elders of the Sun Moon Divine Hall were shocked and terrified. Ye Xinghan, hiding further back, trembled even more violently.

“Don’t come over!” Ye Meixie roared, yet struggled to turn over and faced Jasmine. “Thank you, senior… for sparing my life…”

Given his physique and profound energy, even a hundred sword wounds wouldn’t cause him to so much as frown. Yet the four shallow, fine cuts Jasmine had inflicted on him caused him excruciating pain.

“You won’t die, but those four wounds will remain on your body for seventy-two hours!” Jasmine turned her back, her cold, merciless voice reaching Ye Meixie’s ears. “Every hour, the pain will intensify, making you feel as if you’re being torn apart by ten thousand blades, until you wish for death. And throughout this entire process, you won’t even be able to faint. If you foolishly attempt to resist with profound energy, the pain will only worsen!”

“Ugh…” Ye Meixie gasped, as if hearing a curse from hell. His eyes bulged from their sockets, dense red veins nearly covering his entire eyeballs. Only he could truly comprehend the horrific pain wracking his body. At this moment, he felt as if ten thousand swords were piercing his heart, and with each passing hour, the pain would intensify—seventy-one times over the course of seventy-two hours. The sheer agony was simply unimaginable, unthinkable.

“This is the consequence of your own actions. This princess is merely helping you to firmly engrave how to write the word ‘regret’ into your memory. Do not forget it again.”

Ye Meixie collapsed, sprawled like a dying old dog. In his wide, staring pupils, a stark, grayish despair was plainly visible.

While others could not truly empathize with the horrific pain he endured, it was clear that the master of a Sacred Ground, possessing world-shaking profound energy, was unable to stand, every muscle in his body convulsing violently. One could only imagine the torment he was suffering.

And this was only the beginning!

The grim atmosphere on the Sea God Platform grew even heavier. Everyone present was stiff with fear, daring not to gather profound energy or utter the slightest sound; even their breathing was cautious. Although Jasmine was youthful, her exquisite, ethereal beauty and her mysterious, alluring charm were completely overshadowed by the chilling dread she inspired.

Her power was akin to that of a demon god.

Yet beyond her power, she was also cold and merciless, acting with extreme cruelty, even malevolence.

By now, anyone who was even momentarily glanced at by her felt their blood freeze and their heart stop, as if standing before the Nine Underworld Hells.

Jasmine’s gaze drifted from the Sun Moon Divine Hall, turning towards the Supreme Ocean Palace, her eyes fixing on the Sea Emperor Qu Fengyi.

“‘Qu Fengyi, Sea Emperor of the Supreme Ocean Palace, what a magnificent title. Unfortunately, you are a foolish and vulgar woman,’” Jasmine mocked coldly.

Under Jasmine’s gaze, both Xuanyuan Wentian and Ye Meixie completely lost their composure, appearing utterly humble. Sea Emperor Qu Fengyi was no exception. When Jasmine’s eyes fixed on her, Qu Fengyi’s body swayed, her face instantly turning ashen. When facing Yun Che, she had been the noble, majestic, and domineering Sea Emperor of the Palace. But before Jasmine, she was merely a woman nearly scared out of her wits.

“Yun Che had old grievances with the Heavenly Might Sword Region and the Sun Moon Divine Hall. However, with your Ocean Palace, not only was there no animosity, but even a degree of acquaintance. Yet you chose to kick him while he was down and then covet the Samsara Mirror… Hah, don’t you dare tell this princess that you persecuted Yun Che for the sake of the Profound Sky Continent. Which of your so-called Four Sacred Grounds and the Illusory Demon Realm is truly greedy, despicable, and a demonic land that causes chaos for the other? This princess knows perfectly well, and you yourselves know it better than anyone!”

With every word Jasmine spoke, Qu Fengyi’s pupils contracted further. Despite being supported by peak Emperor profound energy, she was now tottering, almost losing the strength to stand.

“Yun Che, as this princess’s disciple, has barely acceptable talent, conduct, and temperament. But when it comes to women, he is utterly foolish, promiscuous and lustful, depraved, shameless, and vulgar, countless times losing all reason for women, even disregarding his own life, truly worse than an idiot…”

Yun Che: “…”

The most frequent subject of Jasmine’s scolding had always been his dealings with women—including the harsh reprimand he had just received yesterday for risking his life to obtain the Underworld Brahma Flower in the Moon-Slaying Devil Cave for her. However, he had long grown accustomed to it, even readily accepting her calling him a ‘perverted demon’.

But now, on the Sea God Platform, Jasmine was actually unleashing another torrent of scolding about women, in front of so many people… He could even discern a hint of gnashing teeth in her tone.

It was evident that Jasmine had very strong opinions about his behavior concerning women… not just strong opinions, but ones that ignited an uncontrollable fury whenever the topic arose.

“That’s why he never hits women and rarely kills them.” Jasmine slowly stepped forward, drawing closer to Qu Fengyi. “But this princess… has killed more women than men!”
