Boom!
The combined might of the Three Yama Ancestors slammed into the Ming Emperor Barrier. The deafening roar that erupted was like the collapse of ten thousand realms, the fracturing of galaxies. The previously faint golden barrier suddenly burst forth with blinding golden light, intensely bulging outwards and spreading countless golden fissures, accompanied by a soul-rending shriek.
Immediately, however, an immense backlash from the Ming Emperor Barrier repelled the Three Yama Ancestors with tremendous force. All three grunted, landing some distance away, their arms tingling violently.
As they landed, the golden light on the barrier quickly receded, and even the fleeting golden cracks vanished without a trace.
“Hiss,” the Three Yama Ancestors muttered in unison. They gazed at the barrier, which, far from shattering, had instantly recovered to its original state, their eyes glinting with a touch of surprise and an incomparably dreadful black light.
“Oh?” Yun Che sounded genuinely surprised. He murmured, “Even these three old devils by my side can’t break it. This turtle shell has some tricks after all.”
Qianye Bingzhu and Qianye Wugu’s expressions remained unperturbed; this outcome was entirely expected by them.
Despite the Ming Emperor Barrier remaining unharmed by the Three Yama Ancestors’ power, not a single person from the Southern Sea dared to scoff. Instead, at that very instant, deep astonishment filled every face. They had clearly seen cracks appear on the Ming Emperor Barrier under the Yama Ancestors’ assault! Though momentary and swiftly healed, they were undeniably real fissures.
They had long heard of the Yama Ancestors’ terror. The Brahma Heaven God Realm had been utterly annihilated, despite its six guardians, precisely because of these three ancient monsters. Even the formidable Ashen Dragon God had been helpless under their suppression.
Yet, none of that compared to the shock delivered by the recent cracks. They were intimately aware of the Ming Emperor Barrier's formidable strength; within their knowledge, it was simply impossible for the barrier to be cracked—not even by previous Southern Sea God Emperors!
The instant the Ming Emperor Barrier was struck, every Sea God felt as if their very heart had been pierced. Those fine cracks seemed to spread across their souls.
The Southern Sea God Emperor’s face remained rigid for a half-breath before swiftly regaining his arrogant, faint smile. “Yun Che, exert yourself in vain all you like. These old monsters by your side are indeed impressive, but attempting to break the Ming Emperor Barrier is nothing but a fool’s dream.”
His inner thoughts were far from as calm as his outward appearance suggested. That single strike from the Three Yama Ancestors, while scarring the Ming Emperor Barrier, also carved an indelible fissure into his heart, giving rise to a terrifying realization: If these three old monsters continued their assault, there might indeed be a chance of them forcibly breaking through—in an hour, or perhaps even less! Such monsters, such a threat… they could not be allowed to live!
“Hehehe,” Yun Che sneered, lowering his gaze. “A mere turtle shell makes you parade around like this. Is that all the capability and potential you, the Southern Sea God Emperor, possess? Since you’re so proud of this ‘turtle shell,’ why don’t you rename your Southern Sea God Realm to the ‘Turtle Shell Realm’? How about that?”
“Hmph, still daring to be arrogant even with death staring you in the face.” It was Nan Qianqiu who spoke, entirely shedding his previous caution and fear. His face was composed, showing a few barely concealed hints of anticipation as he said with a pitying tone, “However, if you wish to laugh, then laugh your fill, for I fear that once you descend to hell, you will never be able to laugh again.”
“Your Majesty,” the Northern Prison Sea King suddenly whispered, “Any further delay could bring unforeseen trouble.” Clearly, the sight of the Three Yama Ancestors cracking the Ming Emperor Barrier had profoundly shaken him as well.
The Southern Sea God Emperor’s golden eyes narrowed slightly. He slowly extended his hand, his splayed fingers reaching towards Yun Che as if he had already firmly clutched the fate of everyone present. “Yun Che, open your eyes wide. This is the greatest gift this King has ever bestowed in his lifetime. Savor this glorious despair!” He suddenly clenched his five fingers.
Boom! From the center of the divine altar, a golden beam suddenly erupted, piercing the barrier and shooting directly into the heavens. Within the piercing golden light, a massive golden shadow slowly emerged from the altar’s split core. The golden light emanated from countless stacked and interconnected, shimmering profound formations. At the very heart of these formations, a pitch-black aperture, barely half a zhang wide, pointed directly at Yun Che’s position, yet it seemed capable of instantly swallowing entire realms and stars.
A thunderous roar reverberated through the air! The divine altar shook, the Southern Sea Royal City trembled, and the entire Southern Sea God Realm vibrated… Even beyond the Southern Sea, the boundless star regions began to convulse, stirring up one calamitous cosmic storm after another.
“Urgh!” “Ah—” “This… this is!?” The Three Emperors of the Southern Region blanched in horror. Despite their varying degrees of psychological preparedness, when the golden light tore through the sky, they felt as if their bodies had been hammered and their souls rattled by a celestial mallet. This was because the crushing pressure enveloping them was so immense it defied comprehension, surpassed the world’s known limits, and truly should not have existed after the Heaven Smiting Devil Emperor’s departure!
“Ming… God… Great… Cannon…” Emperor Shitian gritted his teeth, the trembling, distorted words squeezed through his clenched jaw. That secret record, which he had always dismissed as preposterous, had actually materialized before his very eyes today!
Emperor Xuanyuan and Emperor Ziwei remained silent, utterly incapable of uttering a sound. As God Emperors of the Southern Region, they were certainly familiar with the name 'Ming God Great Cannon.' However, the Ming God Great Cannon they knew of was an ancient Southern Sea clan’s ancestral artifact, recorded as having the ability to 'slay gods in an instant'—a most terrifying and forbidden existence among divine artifacts. How could such a horrifying object possibly survive into the present age? They didn't know, nor dared to believe that what manifested before them was the fabled god-slaying weapon of ancient legend. Yet, the overwhelming might currently enveloping them, even through the Ming Emperor Barrier, still caused their bodies and souls to tremble violently.
Inside the barrier, a sudden storm erupted. Yun Che’s black robes and hair whipped violently, flapping loudly. All three Yama Ancestors’ expressions drastically changed; facing that dark aperture, their already grotesque faces twisted into visages even more horrifying than true hellish demons.
“Urgh!” Gu Zhu staggered back a step, his body swaying before he finally regained his footing. Although his profound energy hadn't fully recovered, he was still a Tenth Level Divine Master, yet he had been forced back by mere spiritual pressure. Its terrifying power was beyond imagination.
As if countless stars were pressing down upon him, Yun Che stood proudly unmoving, yet he could no longer breathe. He slowly raised his hand… and even that simple action was exceptionally arduous.
“Master, something’s not right with this thing!” Yama One turned his gaze, his voice a hoarse roar.
“Hahahaha!” The Southern Sea God Emperor spread his arms, roaring with laughter. “Yun Che, how do you like this grand gift this King has specially prepared for you? Hahahahahahaha!” He too was experiencing the divine might of the Southern Sea’s forbidden artifact for the first time. His body trembled, yet his soul surged with excitement, his blood boiling! This was the power belonging to his Southern Sea.
Yun Che said nothing, slowly wiggling his fingers as if testing the extent to which the Ming God Great Cannon’s pressure could suppress him.
“Southern Sea!” Emperor Shitian stated gravely. “You actually kept… something like this hidden!” He suddenly realized something and murmured, “No wonder… no wonder the Dragon Monarch often visited the Eastern Divine Region but never once set foot in your Southern Sea God Realm!”
The Southern Sea God Emperor offered no reply. He was basking in the thrill that the divine power of the Southern Sea Great Cannon brought him, even more eagerly anticipating Yun Che’s impending fear… and death!
Qianye Bingzhu and Qianye Wugu exchanged glances, then stepped forward, positioning themselves in front of Yun Che and Qianye Ying’er.
Qianye Wugu said, “This old man initially believed the Crown Prince’s enthronement ceremony was merely a hasty convenience, but it seems there was a greater purpose. The towering structure beneath this divine altar, raised for the Crown Prince’s celestial offering, must be the energy source for this Ming God Great Cannon, correct?” The tower supporting the altar was colossal, and the profound energy it contained was so vast it defied the imagination of a thousand lifetimes.
“Precisely,” the Southern Sea God Emperor declared with an arrogant laugh. He took a step forward but ultimately did not complete it, as the sheer pressure from the Ming God Great Cannon prevented him from drawing closer. This fear, paradoxically, fueled his excitement, and his voice grew increasingly manic. “Do you realize how reluctant I was to present this magnificent gift? Alas, alas, compared to the ultimate price, this King has no choice but to slay this mad dog!”
“In terms of cunning and ruthlessness, you surpass your father,” Qianye Bingzhu remarked. “However, have you considered that this location is the very core of the Southern Sea God Realm? Under the Ming God Great Cannon, your Southern Sea will suffer immense catastrophe.”
“So what?” Nan Qianqiu retorted with arrogant, cold eyes. “The vast Eastern Divine Region collapsed miserably under Yun Che’s demonic claws, an utterly disgraceful sight, and the entire God Realm is now steeped in fear of the Northern Region devils. But today, our Southern Sea will slay the Devil Master Yun Che. This achievement will be lauded by this age and remembered by future generations. Even if the Southern Sea is damaged, it will be damaged for the sake of the world!”
“Heh heh, well said,” the Southern Sea God Emperor approved.
“It has come to this; more words are useless.” Qianye Wugu raised his hands, whispering, “God Emperor…” He paused, his tone softening slightly. “Ying’er, the Ming God Great Cannon cannot possibly manifest its ancient might. With our strength and that of the Three Yama Ancestors, there might be a chance to withstand it. If even a sliver of hope for survival remains, you must flee with all your might. Do not be reckless.” As his voice faded, dark golden light simultaneously coalesced in the pupils of both Qianye Bingzhu and Qianye Wugu. It was clearly a preparation to forcefully ignite their Brahma Souls.
“Step back!” Qianye Ying’er stated coldly. “I will say it again: this is not a place for you to take matters into your own hands.” Her tone was utterly decisive, yet her gaze softened almost imperceptibly, and she eventually transmitted, “He has his own strategy; step back.” A flicker of surprise crossed their eyes. After a brief hesitation, both complied.
“Yun Che, what do you think of this gift?” the Southern Sea God Emperor asked leisurely.
“It’s not bad,” Yun Che replied with a faint smile. “At least it didn’t disappoint me too much.”
“Disappointed?” The Southern Sea God Emperor’s face was wreathed in smiles.
“As for the true power of this Ming God Great Cannon in the current age, I presume even you, the Southern Sea God Emperor, have never truly witnessed it, have you?” Yun Che maintained his smile, his face devoid of any trace of fear. “Are you so certain it can kill me?”
The Southern Sea God Emperor’s smile deepened. “To be honest, this King isn’t entirely certain. After all, these loyal dogs by your side have far exceeded my expectations. If they fully sacrifice their lives to protect you, you might indeed have a slight chance of survival.”
No one was surprised by these words. With the Three Great Yama Ancestors, the Two Great Brahma Ancestors, Gu Zhu, and Qianye Ying’er, if they truly dedicated all their power to protect Yun Che alone, no one could guarantee he wouldn’t survive the Ming God Great Cannon.
“But let’s assume, for argument’s sake, that you do survive. You’d be nothing but a crippled husk. Could you truly escape my Southern Sea?” He continued, “And taking it even further, even if you somehow manage to leave here alive, without these loyal dogs, how would you control the Eastern Divine Region? What would you use to resist my Southern Divine Region and the Dragon God Realm, which you have thoroughly provoked?”
“It’s just…” The Southern Sea God Emperor slowly shook his head, letting out a short sigh. “It’s a pity about my Ying’er. However, compared to your current defilement by evil, this King prefers to remember Ying’er as she was five years ago—gone, yet still so aloof, proud, and flawlessly pure.”
Qianye Ying’er’s lips pressed together lightly, an almost imperceptible movement that nevertheless exuded a captivating allure. She stepped half a pace forward, leaning gently by Yun Che’s side, and stated dispassionately, “I, Qianye Ying’er, would rather be a devil’s plaything than endure another glance from you, Southern Sea. After all, in my eyes, you have always been nothing more than a toy dog, wagging its tail for attention. Even being remembered by you is rather nauseating.”
