Chapter 1461: Magic Emperor’s Tear

Jie Yuan remained impassive to Yun Che's words. What she had conveyed to him was truly the extent of her reach, for this world, apart from Yun Che, was utterly alien and empty to her.

Yun Che continued, "Because in this world, your home still exists, and so does... your family."

These words made Jie Yuan, whose heart had been steeped in cold silence and confusion, suddenly frown. Her gaze sharply turned. "What did you say?"

"Senior, have you heard the name Blue Pole Star?" Yun Che asked slowly.

"Blue Pole Star? Never heard of it." Jie Yuan's brows furrowed deeper. "What exactly did you mean by your earlier statement?"

Yun Che raised his left hand, considered it, but ultimately didn't dare to call Hong'er out. Instead, he said, "Senior, please take me to a certain place."

As he spoke, his fingertip glowed, releasing a wisp of soul imprint.

Jie Yuan didn't even look at it, let alone touch it. With a sweep of her spiritual sense, she grabbed Yun Che, and the Cosmic Spire in her hand flashed with red light.

Instantly, the space before them shifted.

Before their eyes, the gloomy, dim world was gone, replaced by an boundless ocean.

Ultra-long distance spatial transfers, even with the strongest profound spatial formations of the current era, would require a long period of travel. Yet, the Cosmic Spire's spatial shift... was merely an imperceptible instant!

This was a water-blue planet, utterly ordinary in the eyes of anyone from the God Realm—a lower realm planet so common that they wouldn't even bother to give it a second glance.

The Blue Pole Star!

Less than a month had passed since he left here for the God Realm. Considering Jie Yuan's earlier words, this world, where he was born and which he knew best, had once again undergone immense changes in his perception. Before Jie Yuan could inquire, he spoke, "This is the 'Blue Pole Star' that I just mentioned."

"It is the place of my origin. Almost ninety-nine percent of the planet is ocean, with only about one percent land, divided into three distant continents. Because the entire world is predominantly covered by the azure ocean, it is called the Blue Pole Star."

He looked at Jie Yuan. "Does this planet leave any impression on you, Senior?"

"Hmph!" Jie Yuan scoffed lightly, saying disdainfully, "A mortal spiritual planet from the Eastern Divine Region? How could I possibly recognize it?"

Yun Che let out a soft "Uh...?"

Jie Yuan glanced around and continued, "This planet's aura is clearly ancient, yet exceptionally faint. Evidently, it suffered external impacts long ago, enduring more than one calamity of destruction, leaving only a mere fraction of small land..."

Her words unfinished, her voice suddenly halted, as if abruptly cut off.

Her eyes, initially cold and serene, suddenly began to waver. She abruptly turned, her gaze wildly sweeping in all directions. Her Devil Emperor spiritual sense, like a suddenly uncontrolled torrent, surged out and enveloped the entire azure planet.

The wavering in her pupils grew increasingly intense, and then, her body even began to tremble slightly.

This aura... could it be... could it be...?

The Devil Emperor's sudden and unusual reaction dispelled all of Yun Che's doubts. He slowly said, "This planet is actually far from as ordinary as it appears. The Heretic God's divine power that I inherited, and the Sky Poison Pearl, were all obtained here. Furthermore, three of the four divine souls I possess—the Phoenix God Soul, the Dragon God Soul, and the Golden Crow God Soul—were also acquired on this small planet."

Jie Yuan's eyes trembled as she gazed into the distance, sensing everything in this world. Her aura was subtly chaotic, as if she hadn't heard a word Yun Che was saying.

"After arriving in the God Realm, I truly understood that it is extremely contrary to common sense for an ordinary lower realm planet to possess so many true god inheritances. And back then, the Golden Crow Soul Spirit, which granted me the Golden Crow God Soul, once told me that this planet was the first one created by the Heretic God in ancient times."

"However, its location seems to be very, very different from what Senior knows."

Jie Yuan remained silent.

"I surmise that back when the great war between the two races erupted, under the calamity that saw even gods and devils annihilated, planets were naturally incredibly fragile, and countless numbers turned to dust. However, this planet, though ordinary and tiny, was the place where the Heretic God and Senior formed their bond. The Heretic God would never allow it to be destroyed. Thus, he took immense risks and expended vast power to protect it, and using a method I cannot imagine, he transferred it from the battlefield to this relatively peaceful corner of the primal chaos at that time."

Jie Yuan looked ahead, her eyes clouded over as she murmured distractedly, "It's still here... it's actually still here..."

Yun Che smiled faintly. "Senior, not only does your home still exist in this world, but your and the Heretic God's daughter... is also still alive."

These words struck Jie Yuan as if she had been hit by a colossal hammer. The instantly uncontrolled devilish aura made Yun Che's body violently shake, almost causing him to spit blood. In the next instant, his snow-white robe was tightly grasped by Jie Yuan, her pair of pitch-black devil eyes pressed tightly against his own. "You... said... what!!"

Yun Che, completely suffocated, used almost all his will to utter with immense difficulty, "Senior... your and the Heretic God's daughter... is still alive! And... she is on this very planet."

This time, Jie Yuan heard it with extreme clarity. Her devil eyes nearly doubled in size before Yun Che's own. "Where... where is she? Where is she... No... no... you're lying to me... she can't still be alive... you're lying to me!!"

After millions of years of exile, her return had been chillingly calm.

But now, her eyes had lost their luster, her aura was chaotic, and her body trembled, like a wild beast that had suddenly lost its mind.

Yun Che felt his body about to be torn apart. He opened his mouth, but could no longer make a sound.

The hand gripping him suddenly loosened. Jie Yuan seemed to regain some clarity, but her aura was still somewhat chaotic, and her black-glowing eyes still stared at him. "If she were still alive, there's no way I wouldn't have noticed... You... must... be lying to me!"

Yun Che clutched his chest, secretly taking a few deep breaths, and tried to calmly say, "I wouldn't dare deceive Senior. The reason she was able to escape the calamity of that year, and the reason Senior couldn't sense her existence, are due to special circumstances. Senior will understand once you see her... I will take you to her now."

From Yun Che's words and gaze, she saw no concealment or evasion, which made her heart pound fiercely. She said in a deep voice, "If you dare to lie to me... I will immediately... tear you apart!"

"Senior, please follow me."

The more intense Jie Yuan's reaction, the more at ease Yun Che felt. He quickly found the direction of the Azure Cloud Continent and flew off.

He had only just flown out when his arm was clamped by Jie Yuan. Her clearly impatient voice came from beside his ear: "How is your speed any different from a snail's crawl? Tell me the direction!"

Yun Che activated his Illusory Demon Lightning, a speed absolutely unmatched among those of his level. Yet, from Jie Yuan's mouth, it earned the description of a "snail's crawl."

He released a soul imprint, informing Jie Yuan of the location of the Absolute Cloud Cliff in the Azure Cloud Continent. Then...

His soul remained rooted in place, not reacting at all, while his body had already traversed to another distant space...

By the time he finally came to his senses, he was already standing at the edge of the Absolute Cloud Cliff, his whole body numb and trembling as if he had been brutally beaten for days and nights.

What the heck, how was this any different from true spatial traversal...? Yun Che's soul was also violently trembling.

Looking at the bottomless dark abyss below, Jie Yuan slightly frowned, muttering to herself, "Why is there a small world here...?"

"This aura..."

As if struck by lightning, she suddenly disregarded everything else and plunged straight down.

"Senior!" Yun Che instinctively cried out, but no sooner had the sound left his mouth than Jie Yuan's figure had completely vanished into the darkness.

Yun Che hesitated briefly, then also leaped down, chasing at his fastest speed.

Rapidly falling through layers of darkness, Yun Che once again arrived in this already familiar dark world.

But this time, he heard not a single roar from the devil beasts; only a deathly silence filled the darkness.

Perhaps they had faintly sensed Jie Yuan's aura and were all prostrating themselves in fear and trembling.

Yun Che restrained his aura and flew towards You'er's location. Soon, he saw the familiar profound purple light... and also Jie Yuan's figure.

She stood silently in the darkness, gazing from afar at the sleeping half-souled girl within the Profound Ghost Flower Sea.

The light of the Profound Ghost Udumbara Flower was mysterious and ethereal, yet it was the girl's only companion in this dark world.

Within the sea of flowers, her arms were folded across her chest, her calves curled up, her entire body a small ball. She looked like a cat fond of sleep and a bit afraid of the cold—very quiet, very lonely... and it made one's heart ache uncontrollably.

Jie Yuan did not approach. She simply stood there, watching from afar, silently.

Without Yun Che needing to tell her, she knew who the girl was. Because in this world, no mother would mistake her own daughter, no matter how many years had passed.

From her level, she knew even more clearly her current state: without a body, even her soul was incomplete, barely surviving by relying on the darkness here, and by relying on the nether power of the Udumbara Flower Sea to prevent her fragmented soul from dissipating.

All of this clearly told her that the half-souled girl in her sight could not leave this cold, lonely, dark world, nor could she even leave the Profound Ghost Flower Sea where she slept for long periods.

Which also meant... she had endured an incredibly long period of darkness and solitude.

"Senior?" Yun Che softly called out.

Jie Yuan showed no reaction.

Yun Che lightened his footsteps and walked to Jie Yuan's side. Just as he was about to speak, he suddenly froze, his expression turning blank.

He saw... a scene that defied belief.

A tear streak slowly slid down Jie Yuan's face, reflecting the profound nether purple light, then... silently dripped onto the dark ground.

Yun Che remained silent.

This was a drop... of the Devil Emperor's tears.

He witnessed a scene that ancient gods and devils had never seen, and would never have believed.

Jie Yuan slowly reached out, touching the wetness on her face. Perhaps even she couldn't believe that she was actually shedding tears.

And her eyes had been fixed on the half-souled girl in the sea of flowers, without even a moment's deviation.

"Even if we were truly wrong..." she murmured blankly, like a pained sleepwalker. "Even if breaking the taboo between gods and devils must incur heavenly wrath... what sin did our daughter commit?"

"Our... daughter... what... sin... did... she... commit..."

Standing by Jie Yuan's side, Yun Che clearly felt a soul-piercing pain with every word she murmured.

At first glance, she knew it was her daughter.

To recover what was lost after millions of years apart should have brought ecstasy.

But as she saw her daughter, she also saw a fragmented soul that had been isolated in darkness for millions of years...

Surprise and excitement were drowned out, replaced by a spiritual torment more painful than the millions of years in the Outer Chaos.
