The first volume of Golden Plains has finally concluded. The author feels as if they have just finished a major battle, tired but fulfilled.
After the immortals disappeared, the entire book is divided into three parts. The first part, which concludes with the Havoc in Heaven, represents the realization of He Lingchuan's personal heroism.
The second part, which covers the entire Golden Plains volume, details the rise of the new power established by He Lingchuan.
The third part, naturally, is the most crucial section of the entire book. It depicts the struggle for dominance over the world and the fight against the Heavenly Demons, representing the ultimate realization of the ideals of both He Lingchuan and the author.
As a middle section, the first volume of Golden Plains was exceptionally difficult to write. He Lingchuan, having just found his footing in a foreign land, immediately plunged into a chaotic continent that had remained ununified for eight hundred years. There, he observed, struggled, established roots, and forged his destiny. He founded the Yangshan Chamber of Commerce and established the Black Armored Army, also ensuring that the image of Emperor Jiuyou became deeply ingrained in people's minds.
He not only sought to develop and strengthen himself, but also to clear the obstacles of royal and divine (immortal) power for his future grand endeavors. This led to the overthrow of the Yao Kingdom and the Battle of Upside-Down Sea.
The history of development is always more challenging to write than individual highlight moments. I had to write not only about He Lingchuan starting from scratch and overcoming challenges, but also about the scenery, customs, human relationships, and diverse lives across the entire Golden Plains. The goal was to make this place feel vast and real.
Now that the writing has reached this point, looking back at the past five million words, I am personally quite satisfied.
So, for the upcoming plot, as I mentioned at the end of the first volume of Golden Plains, the time has finally come for He Lingchuan to stop biding his time and unleash his full potential.
He will sweep across Golden Plains, swiftly, precisely, and decisively. Like autumn winds clearing fallen leaves, he will put an end to the chaos in Golden Plains and settle his grievances with Qingyang. He must establish his vast dominion before the Heavenly Demons, Lingshan, Beijia, and the Mou Kingdom can react or intervene.
The secrets of the Great Fanghu will be further unveiled. The Coiling Dragon World will experience more unpredictable events due to He Lingchuan's deep involvement, and the conflict between Coiling Dragon City and Mitian will intensify and escalate.
He Lingchuan's relationships with Beijia and the Mou Kingdom will undergo significant changes.
The newly acquired Dragon Punishing Pillar will also allow He Lingchuan to orchestrate a bold conspiracy, causing greater turmoil in the Heavenly Realm and leading to terrible consequences that even he did not foresee.
Furthermore, changes in the laws of heaven and earth, new developments in the rules of elemental energy, and so on, will all be manifested one by one in the subsequent text.
Even when I am conceiving these ideas, I feel full of anticipation.
However, while looking ahead at the path, I also need to pay attention to my steps.
The last time I had a significant stock of drafts was at the end of last year. Just like that, another year has passed.
When I first started writing this volume of Golden Plains, my goal was to work eight hours a day. However, it unknowingly extended to ten hours, and then to twelve hours.
Five to seven hours of that time were spent on plot conception, with the remaining time dedicated to writing.
A colleague once said that they would plan the next day's plot at night and then sleep peacefully. If I did that, I'd probably be staring at the ceiling until dawn, wouldn't I?
By the end of writing Golden Plains, I had to stay up until two or three in the morning every day.
Even so, my stock of drafts was rapidly diminishing. They were consumed under my pen, ending up in the discard bin. When I started the book, I had 500,000 words in reserve, but by the end of the first volume of Golden Plains, only just over 20,000 words remained.
My drafts have never been this low.
This situation is not sustainable.
We are about to begin outlining the second volume of Golden Plains. The further the plot progresses, the more exciting and tightly paced it will become. This will require more drafts on hand, giving me more thinking space and greater flexibility.
I myself also need more vigorous energy and greater enthusiasm to dedicate to writing.
This work requires meticulous crafting. Rushed writing has never suited me. My usual approach involves extensive thought and consideration, connecting elements horizontally and vertically.
I need to return to a familiar rhythm to write the subsequent plot well.
Therefore, starting tomorrow, I will reactivate my draft accumulation mode. I will update 4,000 words daily and save all surplus!
You can rest assured that my workload will not decrease during the period of accumulating drafts.
Only when my draft reserves return to a safe level will I resume the previous update quantity.
I'm not sure why, but even though this book is clearly not suited for daily updates, the 24-hour readership has already exceeded more than half of the average subscriptions! For a novel approaching five million words, this is truly a bit bizarre.
The most important aspects of this book are its overall coherence and continuity. I sincerely recommend to eager readers, for a better reading experience, to accumulate more chapters and read them together.
The subsequent volume, "After the Immortals," should still be around two million words long. The preceding five million words were all laying groundwork, setting up plotlines, and building momentum for it. The author also needs to accumulate strength to bring everything to an explosive climax, elevate the narrative, and achieve a grand finale.
Let's look forward to it together.
