Chapter 1261: The Immortal's Burial Ground

Qu Yu had dissected countless celestial demons, which meant this underground palace very likely contained a vast quantity of divine or demonic remains! This was another divine tomb, a treasure trove waiting for him to unearth!

Fu Liushan's acorn figurine worked diligently, and soon enough, it located two disposal sites for experimental subjects. More accurately, they were two enormous cavernous tombs, twice the size of the Bright Well, where Qu Yu had discarded used and failed experiments, along with various miscellaneous items.

As soon as Dong Rui stepped inside, his eyes lit up, and he couldn't help but let out an excited shout. True enough, giant divine remains were everywhere! Although not protected by a crystal mountain, most of the remains here had corroded flesh, leaving only bones. However, the surface of the skeletons was covered in tiny red moss. Brushing it aside to touch the bones revealed a metallic sheen.

"In our professional jargon, this is called 'corpse-wrapping moss'," Dong Rui explained. "It feeds on the remains of powerful beings and preserves the bones' vitality."

He Lingchuan and Fu Liushan, upon entering this giants' graveyard, were also too stunned to speak for a long time. The space here was almost entirely filled with these so-called "divine bodies," with one gigantic corpse after another lying, sitting, or even piled into small hills. A confined graveyard, colossal skeletons, empty eye sockets, and a desolate atmosphere—the visual impact was too profound for words.

Dong Rui, meanwhile, was as happy as a mouse in a honey pot. He rummaged through one, knocked on another, and soon disappeared into the piles. He Lingchuan was also delighted. The bones in the graveyard appeared to retain their vitality, which meant he could create more and more Punishment Dragon Pillars! Previously, the divine bones he had extracted from Dong Rui were counted by the piece and came at a high cost. Now, they were abundant here! Immortal Minghui and his fellow disciples truly wreaked havoc on celestial demons back then—what a splendid job!

Of course, this graveyard didn't just contain skeletons; it also had all sorts of other miscellaneous items, such as various weapons, armor, and magical artifacts. Like Dong Rui, Qu Yu also didn't seem to be an expert at tidiness. However, during the exploration, the divine bone necklace unexpectedly heated up twice. This place actually had something it wanted to "eat"? He Lingchuan spent considerable effort to find it: a small fragment that seemed to be part of some magical artifact. Its complete form, material, and dull color were all unknown. He asked Fu Liushan and the Soul-Capturing Mirror, but neither knew what material it was. So He Lingchuan suspected the Great Square Pot simply wanted to try something new.

Another item that interested the Great Square Pot was a bone. It looked like the middle finger of a celestial demon, but its color was slightly reddish, unlike the other bone segments. He Lingchuan fed it to the divine bone necklace, and it stopped heating up. Just as he was about to stand up, he noticed a long segment of divine bone particularly striking in a nearby pile of remains. It resembled a tail, segmented and distinctly black, with three separable sharp barbs at its tip. Coincidentally, there was a half-skeleton wearing tattered armor nearby. He Lingchuan grabbed the black tail-spike and swung it with a backhand motion—with a *crack*, the half-skeleton was shattered into pieces!

"Huh, quite powerful," he muttered, casually putting it away. If the bones, hides, horns, and teeth of monsters could be made into magical artifacts, there was no reason why those of celestial demons couldn't. He needed to take it back and have Songyang Manor study it thoroughly. Changing his perspective, this wasn't a bone disposal site; it was clearly a treasure mountain! There was no way he was leaving empty-handed. In no time, he found more than a dozen such skeletons. Fortunately, he had ample storage space; otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to carry them all.

Dong Rui's cheers also echoed from a distance—he had found an entire row of crystal jars along the wall, all filled with divine blood! When He Lingchuan found him, he was so excited he was incoherent: "I'm not leaving! I'm living here for the rest of my life!" This was the number one sacred place in the heart of any Demonic Puppeteer!

Before He Lingchuan could speak, a long blast suddenly sounded a few yards away, startling both him and Dong Rui. The sound was both sharp and deep, resounding powerfully. As soon as it rang out, both instinctively covered their ears. Following the sound, they saw that the Ghost Ape was sitting on a pile of debris, blowing a horn. The horn was as long as a human arm, ginger-yellow, with unique spiral patterns on its surface, but unfortunately stained. It was just playing, but the sound was so loud that it startled the Ghost Ape itself.

The Soul-Capturing Mirror in He Lingchuan's arms immediately exclaimed, "A Kui Ox horn! This is a Kui Ox horn! There are so many good things here!"

"Are you sure?" He asked. Legend had it that the hide of the ancient mythical beast Kui Ox was used for drums, and its long horns for trumpets, both having a fearsome deterrent effect on enemies.

"Of course, I've seen them with my own eyes before!" the mirror, which was knowledgeable and experienced, declared. "They appeared in two battles I personally witnessed during the Middle Ages!"

He Lingchuan extended his hand to the Ghost Ape, who jumped over and obediently handed over the horn. He picked it up and examined it closely, finding a coin-sized hole in the horn. "It's off-key when blown, no longer deep and resonant. No wonder it was thrown in the disposal site."

"The sound is indeed terrifying," the Soul-Capturing Mirror agreed. "Like the wailing of ghosts and gods in the middle of the night, and a whole multitude of them."

He Lingchuan had intended to simply discard the horn, but after hearing the description, he retrieved it. "Not bad," he mused, "I've thought of a use for it."

The Soul-Capturing Mirror was about to ask when Ling Guang suddenly ran over from a distance and jumped onto He Lingchuan's shoulder: "There's a secret room, there are treasures! Come quickly, come quickly!"

"What kind of treasures?" He Lingchuan and the others put down their current finds and walked in the direction Ling Guang indicated.

"Just valuable treasures, shiny things!" Ling Guang, struggling for words, scratched the back of its head.

He Lingchuan rarely saw it so excited, so he quickened his pace. It turned out that at the edge of the disposal site, there was a secret chamber, originally a naturally formed rock cave, but its entrance was blocked by a gigantic remnant. Ling Guang had just squeezed through a crevice, while the Ghost Ape simply grew in size, moved the remains, and pushed open the large door.

As He Lingchuan raised his glowing spores, a dazzling display of gems and treasures immediately came into view, causing the other two to widen their eyes in astonishment.

Dong Rui murmured, "I finally understand what 'mountains of gold and silver' truly means!"

It was the literal meaning, very unadorned. What met their eyes first was a small mountain made of gold, followed by another small mountain made of silver. The third mountain was made of jewels. Each mountain was ten feet high, as solid as a sand dune. These three "sand dunes" dazzled the eyes of all three. He Lingchuan's subordinates had been excavating shipwreck treasures in various bays around the Yangshan Archipelago. Yet, all the treasures they had unearthed to date amounted to less than a third of what was in this secret chamber!

Fu Liushan was so shocked his mouth hung open. After a long moment, he took a few steps and found something to sit on. "My... my legs feel weak," he stammered. Coming to his senses, he felt around and realized he was sitting on a golden drum stool.
