**A Record of a Mortal's Journey to Immortality, Volume Six: Spirit Treasures of Heaven**
"Fellow Daoist, there's no need to be coerced by them. My reinforcements will arrive shortly. Just give me a moment, and you'll have nothing to worry about," said King Xuan, the Ten-Thousand-Year Zombie King. The unexpected appearance of Han Li was clearly seen by this old demon as a last resort. At that moment, Han Li stood with his arms crossed, a thoughtful expression on his face.
The burly man in yellow robes' eyes flashed with a fierce glint, but he quickly suppressed it. Although the seemingly young cultivator across from him hadn't revealed any other powerful abilities, the single arc of lightning that had shattered the giant snake made of demonic clouds was enough to prevent him from underestimating the opponent. As his thoughts raced, he no longer bothered to conceal his original intentions and spoke straightforwardly:
"Brother Xuan, haven't you noticed? My Seven Demonic Wind Children and Three Yellow Dust Evils, who usually accompany me and Fellow Daoist Tianfeng, are not by our side, are they? The moment you emerged from the tomb, I had them set up a grand formation elsewhere, trapping your tomb securely. Although their strength might not be enough to break into the burial chamber, delaying things for a day or two will be absolutely no problem. What's more... heh heh!" As he spoke, the burly man in yellow robes let out a cold laugh.
"What's 'more'?" King Xuan's heart sank instantly. He stared intently at the big man, his hands clenching into fists.
"What's more, it's almost noon now. The yin energy from the earth's meridians is at its weakest point of the day. I'm afraid Brother Xuan's Celestial Corpse's power will be greatly diminished," said Reverend Kuangsha, looking up at the sky with a strange, mocking smile playing on his lips.
Upon hearing this, King Xuan's face turned ashen, a faint layer of black aura subtly emerging.
"Good, very good! I never imagined you'd research my Celestial Corpse to such an extent, even knowing all about the earth's meridian yin energy. But no matter how much you know, it's merely superficial. Today, I'll let you witness the true uniqueness of the Celestial Corpse with your own eyes!" King Xuanye suddenly let out a fierce laugh, looking up at the sky, and spoke viciously.
With no hope for reinforcements, he was enraged and resolved not to sit idly by and await his demise. He also felt that if he didn't display some of his true power, he wouldn't be able to impress Han Li, who stood nearby.
King Xuan immediately opened his mouth. A mass of black blood spurted out, transforming into a fist-sized black rune as it met the wind. It then shot back instantly, embedding itself into King Xuan's forehead, where it clearly appeared.
The rune then emitted an eerie black glow. The grayish-white corpse qi enveloping the old demon churned, and at the same time, a beast-like roar erupted from his mouth.
Upon seeing this, the burly man in yellow robes, although unsure what divine ability King Xuan was about to unleash, naturally wouldn't allow him to complete it so easily. He immediately shouted without hesitation: "Attack! No more delays!" Reverend Kuangsha then stomped his foot on the giant gourd beneath him.
The mouth of the gourd vibrated slightly, and a large torrent of yellow sand immediately poured out. In the blink of an eye, the sand solidified, transforming into a giant sand dragon several tens of feet long, which fiercely pounced towards King Xuan.
Hearing the command, the other two also attacked simultaneously. From within the misty white hurricane came sounds of tearing air, as hundreds of massive wind blades shot out. Each was about a foot in size, radiating blinding white light and emitting astonishing screeching sounds. They were clearly distinct from ordinary wind blade techniques. From within the demonic cloud, more than ten flying daggers shot forth.
These flying daggers were sleek and black, only an inch or so long when first unleashed. But in an instant, they transformed into black rainbows a dozen feet long, silently cutting through the air under the cover of the wind blades.
Seeing the danger approaching, King Xuan also finished his spellcasting in time.
After a furious roar, the tall crown on his head broke free and flew off. His hair, wildly dancing in the wind, grew many times longer and turned purplish-black. Simultaneously, the old demon clasped his arms together, his body suddenly growing several feet taller, covered in thick green hair several inches long. His ten fingers sprouted sharp, purplish-black nails, his face rapidly shriveled and sunken, and a pair of inch-long tusks protruded conspicuously from his mouth, making him appear hideous and terrifying. King Xuan had revealed his true form as the Ten-Thousand-Year Zombie King.
Just then, the sand dragon, wind blades, and black rainbows attacked. A grim expression flashed across King Xuan's face. He opened his mouth, and a fist-sized golden orb shot out. After spinning rapidly, the orb transformed into a large golden hand that grabbed towards the sand dragon. King Xuan himself waved his arms in a phantom-like blur, countless green claw strikes forming a large net that instantly enveloped and protected him.
This old demon actually intended to ferociously withstand the other attacks with just his bare claws.
The wind blades and black rainbows all solidly struck the claw shadows. White and black lights intertwined and flickered, instantly submerging King Xuan's figure.
A tremendous "boom" echoed. Green light churned where King Xuan stood, and the wind blades and black rainbows were simultaneously sent flying back as if struck by immense force. King Xuan, who cultivated the Dao of the Celestial Corpse, had claws in his Zombie King form that were harder than metal, even three parts tougher than ordinary magical artifacts. With just one strike, he had shattered the combined attack of the wind blades and flying daggers.
Meanwhile, the golden hand, formed from the golden orb, wrestled with the sand dragon before seizing it by the neck, temporarily controlling it.
Han Li, observing coldly, showed a slight change in expression. This individual, radiating overwhelming corpse qi, was still so ferocious despite his current condition. This truly exceeded his expectations.
However, upon seeing the sand dragon restrained by the golden hand, the burly man in yellow robes, far from being angry, was pleased. He pointed a finger at the struggling sand dragon.
The sand dragon's body flickered with yellow light, then it paused, suddenly transforming into a pile of loose sand, escaping the golden hand's control. It then re-coalesced, in turn enveloping the golden hand within itself.
The big man did not stop there. After a cold glance at King Xuan and Han Li, he silently formed hand seals. The surrounding hazy yellow sand mist stirred, suddenly raising massive sand waves, tens of feet high, that rolled towards the center. Simultaneously, strange buzzing and ghostly wailing sounds emanated intermittently from the dust, growing louder and softer, causing those who heard them to lose their composure.
He had activated the surrounding grand formation, intending to use its restrictions to crush King Xuan in the center. However, the moment the burly man in yellow robes looked at him, Han Li instantly surmised that Reverend Kuangsha had likely included him in his scheme. If Han Li hesitated even for a moment, allowing the formation to truly close in, the man would undoubtedly try to eliminate him as well.
Muttering a vexed thought to himself, Han Li, who had no intention of wasting any more time, finally made his move.
With a flick of his sleeve, dozens of golden flying swords shot out. After a single rotation, they transformed into a vast expanse of sword shadows, striking the sand wave closest to him.
Simultaneously, in his other hand, the ancient purple mirror he had already clutched suddenly lit up. After a brief infusion of spiritual power, a misty purple light beam shot out, striking the sand mist.
A peculiar scene unfolded: the purple light flame, specifically designed to dispel mist, entered the dust like a clay ox entering the sea, showing no reaction whatsoever.
Han Li frowned, a hint of wariness appearing on his face. The luminous mist formed by the flying swords then also struck the massive wave of sand mist.
A huge gap suddenly appeared.
"Be careful! Soul-Corrupting Sand specifically defiles flying swords! Don't touch that sand!" King Xuan, currently besieged by several magical artifacts, couldn't help but be overjoyed when he saw Han Li finally move to break the formation. He quickly shouted a warning.
"Defiles flying swords?" Han Li was startled by the warning, not yet fully comprehending.
The gap that had just been cut suddenly changed color dramatically. A chilling wind sprang up, and countless black grains of sand appeared like specters around the flying swords. At the same time, wisps of thick black qi spurted from the sand, coiling around each flying sword.
The moment they touched these black threads, Han Li immediately felt his spirit-linked flying swords become sluggish and unresponsive. Simultaneously, the divine sense controlling the swords seemed to be forcefully expelled, causing him to gradually lose control over them.
Han Li's expression turned cold. He pointed a finger towards the flying swords and softly uttered the word "Explode."
A series of thunderous roars erupted. Countless slender golden arcs burst from the flying swords, exploding outwards. Wherever the golden arcs passed, all the black threads were swept away, even carving out large empty spaces directly within the sand mist.
Han Li narrowed his eyes, glancing into the depths of the sand mist, his expression turning somewhat grim. In the center of the sand mist, countless grains of sand floated in the air. While they appeared to be ordinary yellow sand, their sheer quantity meant that breaking through them would certainly not be a quick task.
As he hesitated, his expression suddenly darkened. The silver wings on his back unfurled, and then, amidst the sound of thunder, he instantly vanished from his spot, reappearing sideways more than ten feet away. A crimson long halberd, resembling a magical artifact, had just pierced through the spot where he had been standing.
After a quick turn, the long halberd flew back.
He coldly looked towards the demonic cloud from which the halberd had been shot, blue light flickering in his pupils.
Although the demonic cloud was extraordinarily dense, it was as if transparent under his Bright Sight Spiritual Eyes. Every movement of the old man in blue robes within was seen clearly by him.
The old man, with an equally astonished expression, was looking back at Han Li, clearly startled by Han Li's Thunder Escape technique.
Han Li said nothing. With a slight flap of his wings, and a clap of thunder, he vanished from his original spot.
The old man in blue robes was momentarily stunned, but he was highly experienced in combat. Suddenly remembering something, he slapped the storage bag at his waist. Instantly, a green light shot out from the bag, forming an ancient green shield that appeared in front of him.
And in that very instant, a silver light flashed at the edge of the demonic cloud, and Han Li's figure emerged.
He clenched his fists, and golden light flashed wildly around him. A rumbling sound erupted, and a layer of golden electric armor appeared.
Then, with an expressionless flicker, Han Li disappeared again.
At this, the old man within the demonic cloud felt a chill in his heart. Without hesitation, he opened his mouth and spat out a small, phosphorescent green sword, which transformed into a green rainbow that darted erratically around him.
Still uneasy, just as the old man was about to release a few more magical artifacts, a thunderous sound suddenly erupted from one side.
