**Volume 5: Gaining Renown**
My typing speed seems to be getting slower and slower lately. It now takes me six or seven hours to write a single chapter, which is incredibly frustrating. This is probably because I've laid so much groundwork, and consequently, there are more details and elements I need to consider. Of course, a change in how I calculate progress is also a major reason, as two chapters now are roughly equivalent to two and a half chapters before.
Moreover, I've always believed it's better to take more time to carefully craft a higher-quality book. Only then can I do justice to my paying readers! Therefore, even after writing a chapter, I repeatedly revise its details and address any inconsistencies, which means my speed never really picks up.
When some readers comment that my update frequency and schedule are inconsistent, all I can do is smile wryly to myself. I've been living this way for over a year now. Looking back, I find it quite incredible myself.
Honestly, I didn't want to share these complaints with everyone! I've always believed that readers pay to read, not to hear the author complain about difficulties. If there are difficulties, I should just try my best to overcome them. As long as everyone can read a high-quality novel, that's what matters.
However, some readers recently seem to feel that updates are no longer as consistent as they were initially. They've even expressed resentment, saying I'm putting on airs like a "great author" or that I've become short-tempered.
It's embarrassing! When I see these comments, I'm simply speechless. I'm just a writer trying to make a living. How could I put on airs? I'm simply working as hard as I can, typing away, and like everyone else, busy with life.
Since this issue touches upon my character and attitude, I felt I had to explain my difficulties and clarify things in a single chapter.
Alright, I won't say much else. I promise everyone that I will continue to do my best to write. As soon as my speed improves, I will definitely provide stable updates.
I hope you all continue to support me and subscribe to this book!
