Chapter 778: Boundary Battle (6)

Volume 5: Becoming Renowned

Han Li gestured towards the black giant peak.

After a flash of light, the small mountain shrank to several inches, transforming into a black streak of light that shot into his sleeve.

The top of the bloody light shield also returned to its original shape, indicating its remarkable toughness.

Han Li turned, extended a finger, and with a soft *plop*, a walnut-sized, pale blue fire orb appeared at its tip.

"Go," Han Li whispered, lightly flicking his finger. The fire orb shot towards the distant shield wall.

With a soft *bang*, the blue flame exploded, and a blue ice layer instantly spread, covering the entire shield wall.

The temperature inside the blood shield plummeted, turning it into a world of severe cold, so frigid that one could practically breathe out ice.

Seeing this, Han Li swayed and appeared before a shimmering blue section of the shield.

He raised a hand, and a streak of green sword energy struck the thick ice layer. Cracking sounds echoed as glittering ice shards scattered in all directions.

Han Li's expression darkened as he looked at the spot struck by the sword energy.

As the ice shards fell, the bloody shield wall behind them remained unharmed. The viscous blood on it showed no signs of being truly frozen.

Only a thin layer of blue frost had formed on the surface, and the blood energy still churned within.

Han Li pondered for a moment. He raised his hand and, with a flick, a layer of purple demonic flame suddenly covered his entire palm. Without hesitation, he extended this hand and lightly pressed it against the shield wall.

The Purple Heaven Flame proved slightly more potent than the Azure Essence Ice Flame. The moment the purple flame neared the shield wall, with a *sizzle*, the misty blood on the wall instantly solidified, emitting a dazzling purple glow.

Han Li's face lit up with joy.

He carefully controlled the Purple Heaven Flame, limiting its power to just this small section of the shield. Then, he opened his mouth, and a thunderous crack sounded. A golden arc shot out, striking directly at this section of the shield.

After a flash of golden light, a thin crack appeared on the shield wall.

However, the blood light flashed wildly a few times, and in an instant, the crack vanished.

Han Li was stunned!

This blood shield truly had many tricks. Even after being frozen, it could still repair damage on its own.

No wonder the Mulan people used this restriction so confidently. If even the Purple Heaven Flame couldn't break it, it could indeed trap ordinary Nascent Soul cultivators.

Though slightly aghast, Han Li immediately slapped his storage pouch with one hand. A thumb-sized, gleaming green spherical bead appeared in his palm.

It was the Thunder Bead he had recently refined.

Since its completion, this item had yet to be used. Now was the perfect time to test its power.

Moreover, after that clap of thunder, Han Li could no longer sense the battle outside the shield, but calculating the time, the initial phase should have passed. It should be safe to leave.

Otherwise, if he didn't go out to assist soon and the cultivator army suffered a great defeat, he would be a bird in a cage, with no hope of survival. Thinking this, Han Li's palm glowed, and the Thunder Bead spun. It transformed into a streak of green light that shot towards the shield wall, while he himself darted backward.

A dull thunderclap sounded, followed by a head-sized golden-green light cluster rising on the shield wall.

The entire protective shield trembled violently from the impact.

A flicker of surprise crossed Han Li's face.

The power of this bead seemed to exceed his predictions!

As this thought arose in his mind, Han Li's expression suddenly changed. A brilliant green spiritual light erupted from his body, and he transformed into a green rainbow, shooting forth.

With a single strike from this Thunder Bead, it had effortlessly created a small hole in the shield wall. Sensing this, Han Li shot out without further thought.

The hole was rapidly shrinking.

As the green rainbow, Han Li, shot out of the bloody protective shield, he naturally felt exceptionally pleased. This Thunder Bead, refined from a green lamp flame of similar power to the Purple Heaven Flame, had broken this restriction so easily. This was truly beyond his expectation.

He had originally thought that if this Thunder Bead also failed, he would have to resort to the Gold Devouring Beetles and the Blood Demon Sword.

While the former could devour anything, breaking this shield would likely take some time. The latter, however, came with endless repercussions, which Han Li was reluctant to use lightly.

But now, the nameless Thunder Bead he had refined could break the blood shield, which was indeed a pleasant surprise.

It seemed that the Purple Heaven Flame's inability to break this restriction was mostly due to its inherently ice-cold nature, unlike the lamp flame, which was a genuine fire-attribute spiritual flame and thus capable of countering it.

However, just as Han Li flew out, before he could clearly see the situation outside the shield, several astonished exclamations reached his ears. Then, various sounds of explosions, rumbles, and countless shouts and roars permeated his ears, some near, some far.

Han Li quickly focused his gaze. He couldn't help but be stunned.

He found himself surrounded by over a dozen Mulan shamans. Fortunately, a quick scan with his divine sense showed that their cultivation levels were not very high: two were Core Formation stage, and the rest were Foundation Establishment stage. Each held a magical banner, seemingly preparing to unleash some spiritual attack. And Han Li, upon flying out of the blood shield, had landed directly above them.

Han Li ignored them, taking a quick glance around, and couldn't help but gasp.

As far as his eyes could see, both in the sky and on the ground, shimmering spiritual lights and treasures were everywhere, and various explosive sounds rose and fell. Cultivators and shamans from both sides, in groups of a few or many, formed countless large and small battle formations, completely embroiled in a chaotic free-for-all.

Han Li couldn't tell which side had the upper hand.

Without time to look further, Han Li quickly withdrew his gaze and coldly eyed the shamans nearby.

The more than a dozen shamans were naturally dumbfounded when Han Li suddenly burst out of the blood shield. "Oh no! He's a Nascent Soul cultivator! Quickly call the Grand Shaman over!" One Core Formation shaman was the first to react, blurting out a shout. Then, he slapped the back of his head, and a green flying dagger shot towards Han Li. At the same time, his figure transformed into a green streak of light, retreating over ten zhang, increasing the distance between himself and Han Li.

The other shamans, hearing this, were startled but also reacted.

Another Core Formation shaman immediately cooperated, releasing a fiery red flying fork. At the same time, he raised his other hand, and a sound transmission talisman transformed into a streak of fire, streaking through the air. The remaining lower-cultivation shamans raised their magical banners high, and chanting sounds erupted from their mouths. Over a dozen bowl-thick fire pillars spewed from the banner tips, forming a sea of fire that rolled towards Han Li.

"Eh!"

Seeing these shamans not fleeing but actively attacking, seemingly intending to stall him, Han Li was slightly surprised.

But a fierce glint flashed across his face, and he flicked his sleeve. Green lights dotted the air as dozens of Green Bamboo Bee Cloud Swords swarmed out from his sleeve. With a casual flick of a hand seal, each flying sword subtly vibrated, then immediately split into several more sword lights. In an instant, dense sword lights surrounded Han Li, their sword energy soaring to the heavens, appearing astonishingly powerful.

The two Core Formation shamans were greatly alarmed by this sight, but they still stubbornly commanded their magic treasures to attack.

Han Li sneered, casually pointing his fingers twice. Several sword lights flew out from each hand, instantly intercepting the incoming flying dagger and flying fork, which became intertwined. Under a brilliant green light, these two magic treasures were suppressed by the myriad sword lights, wailing pitifully as their spiritual light instantly shrank into small clusters.

As for the rolling fire, it dissipated into nothingness when it was still several zhang from Han Li, disrupted by the numerous sword lights.

Now was not the time to dawdle with these shamans. Han Li had no intention of holding back. After uttering the word "Go," a hundred sword lights suddenly blazed brightly and shot forth simultaneously.

Overwhelming green light enveloped every shaman.

Though the Foundation Establishment shamans hastily unleashed their magical banners to try and resist, as soon as the green sword light descended, they were pulverized into a bloody mess. Not even a chance to escape remained.

However, the two Core Formation shamans, seeing so many sword lights flying towards them, instantly turned ashen.

No matter how daring or courageous they were, they dared not face such an astonishing attack. Without a second thought, they each transformed into a streak of light and fled in opposite directions.

Han Li's eyes flashed with cold light at this sight.

Forming a hand seal, the two sets of sword lights that were flying towards them emitted a clear hum, then suddenly merged. With their combined spiritual power, the sword lights' escape speed increased by more than half.

Pitiably, the two Mulan shamans had only flown a mere twenty zhang when they were completely engulfed by the sword lights that had arrived from behind.

Although they desperately activated their protective treasures and unleashed various spiritual arts to try and hold on, when the green light descended, both their spiritual arts and protective treasures instantly vanished.

Neither of them even uttered a sound as their bodies were sliced into countless pieces by the sword lights. Their primordial spirits also had no chance to escape, directly dissolving beneath the sword lights.

But just as Han Li achieved his objective, a furious roar came from above, followed by a dazzling yellow light that shot down from the sky with astonishing speed.

Han Li's expression shifted. With a crackling sound behind him, his Wind-Thunder Wings instantly unfurled.

A flash of silver light, and he vanished from his original spot without a trace.

The descending yellow light, seeing this, paused momentarily. As its radiance dimmed, a beardless old man in yellow robes appeared in mid-air. Though his face was contorted with fury, a look of uncertainty and surprise flickered in the depths of his eyes.

This man was one of the Mulan Grand Shamans. He had been coordinating with other shamans, confronting several Nascent Soul cultivators from Tiannan high in the sky. Upon receiving a message from his tribesmen, he immediately disengaged and flew over.

However, despite his swift action, he had only witnessed the scene of two of his tribesmen being obliterated by green sword light, which naturally enraged him to the extreme.

One of them was his direct disciple, whom he had always regarded as a son or nephew.

But Han Li's sudden disappearance startled him. He immediately recalled a particularly formidable figure among the Tiannan cultivators and hastily suppressed his resentment, continuously probing with his divine sense.

A silver light flashed behind him, and Han Li's figure emerged there.

"Die!"

Sensing Han Li's appearance, the old man spun around without a second thought. Raising a hand, a square magic treasure slammed fiercely towards Han Li.

The moment the treasure was unleashed, a brilliant yellow light erupted, instantly transforming into a giant brick over ten zhang in size. A sharp, whistling wind simultaneously emanated mournfully from the magic treasure, its momentum extremely astonishing.
