Chapter 65: Fire Bomb Technique

Han Li, who had been motionless for a while, suddenly raised his right hand and pointed a single finger straight up, a gesture that seemed quite puzzling.

Soon after, about half an inch above Han Li's fingertip, a slight spatial fluctuation suddenly occurred, and a few sparks appeared out of thin air. The moment they materialized, they instantly crackled and inexplicably transformed into a walnut-sized red fireball amidst a spatial distortion. Although the fireball was small, an intense heat accompanied its appearance, spreading throughout the entire room.

Han Li's face remained covered by the book, and he lay motionless as if asleep. Only the small fireball at his fingertip continuously emitted a sizzling sound of high-temperature combustion, strikingly conspicuous in contrast to his still finger.

As time passed, the fireball maintained its extraordinary vitality, showing no signs of dimming. However, Han Li finally showed a different reaction. The fingertip supporting the fireball began to tremble slightly. At first, it was just the finger, but as time went on, his wrist, entire arm, and eventually his whole body began to shake.

Suddenly, Han Li sat bolt upright from the armchair, completely unaware that the book had slipped from his face to the floor.

He stared intently at the small fireball on his fingertip, his face flushed crimson with effort. Beads of sweat glistened on the exposed skin from his forehead to his neck, and his entire body was steaming, as if he had just completed strenuous exercise.

A moment later, the fireball began to waver as Han Li's whole body trembled violently. Its flames flickered, growing larger then smaller, unable to maintain their calm. Before long, it finally dwindled, turning back into sparks and vanishing into the air.

The moment the fireball disappeared, Han Li seemed to lose all backbone, immediately slumping back into the chair, looking utterly exhausted as if he had just completed a tremendously draining task.

"This Fireball Spell is truly difficult to practice!" Han Li murmured to himself, gazing at the ceiling. "I've been studying it for nearly half a year, yet I still haven't fully grasped its essentials. I've only managed to extend its appearance time by a tiny bit."

It turned out that on the last few pages of this Evergreen Arts manual, several rudimentary spells were recorded. These were clearly entry-level techniques for cultivators, and Han Li considered them such a treasure that he was too excited to sleep for several nights in a row.

It was no wonder he was so excited. Ever since he witnessed Doctor Mo perform several spells, Han Li had developed a keen interest in these incredible and unfathomable abilities.

But regrettably, Han Li currently possessed the spiritual power of the sixth and peak level of the Evergreen Arts, yet he was like a beggar holding a golden bowl, completely ignorant of any spell-casting techniques, unaware even of the most basic spell principles. Now that he had suddenly found several spell incantations suitable for a beginner like him, how could he not be overjoyed?

The spells recorded on the final pages included five incantations: "Fireball Spell," "Calming Talisman," "Wind Manipulation Art," "Object Control Art," and "Heavenly Eye Technique." For Han Li, every single phrase within these spell incantations was ancient, profound, and difficult to comprehend.

This was understandable, as the language of these incantations was composed of somewhat ancient grammatical terms and vocabulary. Although he had read many books, his knowledge in this area was indeed shallow, so he naturally couldn't grasp their meaning immediately.

Left with no choice, Han Li finally rekindled the desperate diligence he had shown when learning the Evergreen Arts. He plunged into piles of books related to ancient texts and began to painstakingly study the true meaning contained within the incantations, day and night. He would ponder and scrutinize every phrase and word dozens of times before stopping, ensuring a thorough and unambiguous understanding.

Even though he had never studied any spells before, he knew deep down that if such a powerful force were to go wrong, it would be far more severe than qi deviation, potentially costing him his life instantly. For the sake of his own safety, Han Li was extremely cautious, daring not to be careless in the slightest.

After three months of intensive research, Han Li finally integrated and thoroughly understood all these incantations in theory. He then began his actual spell practice.

This hands-on learning experience dealt Han Li a significant blow.

He had originally thought that with the intelligence he showed learning the "Blink Swordplay," learning spells shouldn't be too difficult. But to his surprise, he suddenly became incredibly clumsy in this area. Even though he understood the principles, he couldn't get it right when actually practicing. Either his technique was wrong, or he misrecited the incantation, or his spiritual power wasn't applied correctly. He felt utterly inept.

Han Li was completely at a loss about this. If it were a problem of insufficient spiritual power, he would have a solution; at most, he could just consume two more spiritual pills.

But this was clearly a problem he couldn't grasp inherently. It seemed his talent for spells wasn't as good as he had imagined, a conclusion Han Li reached after much effort.

After Han Li's prolonged arduous practice, he finally achieved minor success with the "Fireball Spell" and the "Heavenly Eye Technique." However, for the other three spells, he hadn't even touched the threshold and saw no effect whatsoever.

In his frustration, he could only concentrate his efforts on the spells he could currently grasp, such as the "Fireball Spell" and the "Heavenly Eye Technique," placing considerable hope in them.

The power of the "Fireball Spell" did not disappoint Han Li; in fact, it far exceeded his expectations.

Although the fireball from the "Fireball Spell" wasn't large, the terrifying high temperature contained within it was almost unstoppable against anything, capable of burning through anything.

Even a weapon crafted from refined steel, if struck by this fireball, would have the point of contact instantly melted into molten iron.

After witnessing such inhumanly terrifying power, Han Li even threw a fireball onto the surface of water to test it. The result was that the entire area of water immediately ignited like oil, showing no tendency whatsoever to be extinguished by the vast amount of water.

After thoroughly understanding the power of the "Fireball Spell," Han Li finally understood Yu Zhitong's arrogant attitude and why he looked down on mortals so much.

Just imagine: a cultivator who knew even a little bit of magic could use a minor spell like the "Fireball Spell" to easily kill so-called masters and grandmasters of the martial world. If a more powerful cultivator were to act, wouldn't they sweep across the entire martial world, becoming invincible?

With such an enormous disparity in power, it was no wonder that cultivators like Yu Zhitong would view ordinary people as mere ants.
