Chapter 59: Divine Destruction

Yu Zidong's primordial spirit was trapped in a narrow corner, flailing about like a fly with broken wings. Each time it attempted to fly out, a stream of black liquid would force it back, followed by a deadly cold gleam that repeatedly slashed at the ball of light, steadily diminishing its green radiance.

Despair filled Yu Zidong's heart. While the relentless slashing of the opponent's sharp sword significantly weakened his primordial spirit, he didn't care much about that. What truly left him helpless was the continuous erosion by the black liquid.

After being sprayed by the liquid, Yu Zidong felt a tingling numbness and weakness pervading his primordial spirit. His remaining magical power was being gradually worn away. More fatally, the liquid hindered his spellcasting, causing his spells to repeatedly fail, as if he were completely immobilized.

"Why are you killing me? Why?..."

As Han Li continued his ruthless attack, Yu Zidong's hoarse cries, filled with utter unwillingness, occasionally emanated from the ball of light. Han Li, however, remained silent, letting the swiftly wielded blade in his hand serve as his only reply.

Soon after, Yu Zidong's voice gradually subsided, becoming weaker and weaker, until only a faint whimper remained. Then, there was no sound at all.

Han Li did not stop immediately. Instead, he delivered more than a dozen consecutive slashes at the primordial spirit, which had fallen to the ground and was now as weak as a candlelight. Only when he realized he truly couldn't extinguish the last remaining green light did he put away his soft sword and wrap it back around his waist.

Only then did Han Li speak, his voice cold:

"I never cooperate with those who swear venomous oaths on their own parents. And I certainly wouldn't follow in Doctor Mo's footsteps by believing the promises of a scoundrel like you."

With a chilling gaze at Yu Zidong's last primordial spirit flame, Han Li unhesitatingly turned, walked to the stone door, and pushed open the heavy chamber entrance.

As the stone door swung open, several dazzling rays of sunlight streamed in from outside, falling directly onto the remaining primordial spirit. With a soft puff, the faint green light flickered and extinguished instantly, turning into wisps of green smoke that vanished into the air.

In this way, the only trace Yu Zidong left in the world was completely erased by Han Li, making it impossible to ever trace him again.

Han Li knew that primordial spirits feared light thanks to Doctor Mo's actions of extinguishing many lights upon entering the room. Otherwise, he would have had no way to deal with such a final, seemingly indestructible threat, leaving him perpetually on edge.

However, Han Li's effortless extinguishment of the opponent's primordial spirit was largely due to the second tube of Seven Poisons Water he had prepared in advance, a contribution that cannot be overstated.

This tube of venom was an improved version of the Five Poisons Water previously taken by Doctor Mo, with the new addition of an ingredient called "Earth Mushroom Flower." This poisonous herb was not only highly toxic to ordinary people but also significantly hindered the primordial spirits of cultivators. It was precisely this effect that prevented Yu Zidong from smoothly casting spells, ultimately leading to the easy destruction of his primordial spirit.

The reason Han Li first sprayed Yu Zidong's primordial spirit with the Seven Poisons Water was simply due to the influence of various legendary tales. In those stories, all demons and monsters were almost always afraid of liquids like chicken blood or black dog blood. Han Li, having a flash of inspiration, decided to treat Yu Zidong's primordial spirit like a monster.

One wonders if Yu Zidong, aware of this fortunate coincidence in the afterlife, would be so enraged as to vomit blood and die once more.

Han Li, naturally, was unaware of all these coincidences. He only knew that even if the venom hadn't worked, the opponent's primordial spirit would surely be destroyed once he opened the chamber door. It was with this comprehensive consideration that he had mercilessly attacked Yu Zidong.

Now, he was finally free, no longer having to live with a knife to his throat, constantly ready to flee for his life.

Han Li slowly walked back to the center of the stone chamber and stood there quietly for a moment. Suddenly, he leaped forcefully more than three feet off the ground, roaring loudly a few times, desperately venting the joy in his heart. Only at this moment did he truly return to himself, the genuine nature of a mere sixteen-year-old boy.

"I'm finally free!"

"I'm finally free!"

"I—" With a sharp snap, Han Li's voice, as if cut off by a knife, suddenly stopped cheering.

Not far outside the stone door, a massive figure drifting around swayed into his vision. It was precisely the giant known as "Iron Slave."

Han Li's expression suddenly turned grim. As soon as he saw the figure, he felt a faint ache in his shoulder once more. He had made a huge mistake, again neglecting the giant's existence and forgetting to question Yu Zidong's primordial spirit about its origin and weaknesses.

What put Han Li slightly at ease, however, was that the giant seemed completely uninterested in what was happening inside the stone chamber. It merely paced continuously outside, strictly obeying Doctor Mo's former warning orders, without even glancing at the open stone door.

Han Li frowned, feeling the situation was tricky. The giant was clearly somewhat simple-minded, only knowing how to blindly follow orders. For Han Li, such a person was the most difficult to deal with, as he couldn't persuade the giant through words to stop fighting and make peace. And once a fight started, Han Li was no match for the giant. The only item that could have threatened it was the now empty tube of poison water.

Han Li paced methodically, walking back and forth several times inside the chamber, racking his brain to find a way to subdue the giant. But for a while, his mind was a jumbled mess with no clear ideas.

Incidentally, Han Li's gaze fell upon Doctor Mo's corpse.

This sparked an idea in him.

"Perhaps I can find some way to restrain the giant on the corpse," Han Li mused.

He turned and glanced outside the door; the giant was still pacing tirelessly, showing no signs of approaching.

Seeing this, Han Li felt relieved. He took a few steps to Doctor Mo's corpse, unhesitatingly stretched out his hands, and began meticulously searching it inch by inch.
