Chapter 530: Interrogation

"A Mortal's Journey to Immortality" Volumes 3 & 4: Rising Winds Overseas

Upon hearing Han Li's words, the Pigeon-faced Elder and the other two couldn't help but exchange bewildered glances, their faces filled with astonishment.

"What's the meaning of this 'Insect Demon's' question? Is he trying to toy with us before he kills us?"

"If you want to take our lives, just do it! Why bother saying such things?" the fierce man retorted, hardening his resolve and speaking bluntly, caring for nothing else.

"That's strange. Was there something wrong with my question just now?" Han Li's face darkened, instantly turning cold.

"We truly didn't know you were hunting demonic beasts here, senior; otherwise, we would never dare disturb you, 'Insect Demon' senior. We merely stumbled upon this place by accident, without any ill intent. We beg for your mercy, senior," the cultivator surnamed Min pleaded, a hint of color returning to his face as he seemed to grasp a flicker of hope from Han Li's actions.

"'Insect Demon'? Are you referring to me?" Han Li's brow furrowed slightly, a hint of doubt flashing across his face.

"You're not the 'Insect Demon' senior?" The Pigeon-faced Elder, who had originally resigned himself to his fate, mumbled in a daze, his face filled with surprise and doubt.

"It seems you three have misunderstood something," Han Li chuckled softly. After a moment of hesitation, he raised his hand, and three streaks of green spell light shot towards the collars on the three men's necks.

Immediately, with a low hum, the tricolored neck restraints disintegrated, transforming back into countless armored insects that swarmed back into Han Li's spirit beast pouch at his waist.

Witnessing this, the Pigeon-faced Elder and the other two, having narrowly escaped death, were filled with both shock and delight.

Although extreme doubt still lingered in their hearts, they now mostly believed that they might have genuinely mistaken him for someone else.

Otherwise, given the reputation of that "Insect Demon," he would never resort to such theatrics.

However, after witnessing Han Li's astonishing abilities, they remained respectfully still, not daring to make any rash moves.

"Haha! It seems we truly misunderstood you, fellow cultivator. Given the 'Insect Demon's' disposition, he would never let us off so easily like you have. May I ask your esteemed name?" The Pigeon-faced Elder forced a smile, quickly asking with a fawning tone.

He understood clearly that even if the person before him wasn't the actual "Insect Demon," his methods were no less formidable. Taking their lives would be as easy as flipping a hand, so he naturally dared not show any disrespect.

Han Li smiled faintly upon hearing this. Just as he was about to speak, he let out a soft "咦" and looked up into the sky.

"Do you three have other companions? It seems they've already arrived," Han Li said slowly, gazing at the sky.

The Pigeon-faced Elder paused, then seemed to recall something and looked up in the same direction. However, his gaze met only empty space; there was no one in sight. He couldn't help but show a trace of confusion.

"We did bring some disciples and nephews, and by now, they should indeed have arrived!" Although feeling somewhat skeptical, the Pigeon-faced Elder replied honestly.

However, just as he finished speaking, a string of small light points appeared from the distant sky, which were precisely the Foundation Establishment cultivators who had fallen behind.

They were slower than the Pigeon-faced Elder and his two companions.
