Chapter 2327: True Immortal Descends Battle of Asura (7)

No sooner had the words faded than a dozen blood shadows suddenly surged out from within the stone city, then exploded into wisps of blood mist.

Immediately, rolling waves of blood surged skyward, absorbing most of the sword gleams and the attacks from the three colossal mountains outside.

As a result, the stone city's defenses, which had been on the verge of collapse, instantly stabilized.

Han Li, in his giant ape form, naturally flew into a rage at this sight. With a great roar, he suddenly opened his mouth, and a golden electric arc, as thick as a water vat, shot out, instantly striking the blood waves and vanishing in a flash.

With a loud 'boom'!

Where the electric light spread, a strong scent of charring filled the air, and all the surrounding blood waves vanished instantly.

"Evil-Dispelling Divine Thunder!"

A soft 'Oh?' was heard from within the blood waves, followed immediately by a light chuckle. The surrounding blood waves rapidly converged to a single point, then swirled and solidified, transforming into a charming young girl in a short, blood-red skirt and over a dozen wolf-headed, bear-bodied monsters several yards tall.

The girl appeared to be only fifteen or sixteen years old. She carried a vibrant green flower basket in one hand. Her figure was lithe and slender, her face as enchanting as water, her skin like snow and jade. As her autumnal eyes darted about, her entire being exuded an unparalleled allure.

Even someone with Han Li's mental fortitude, at a sudden glance, couldn't help but feel his spirit waver slightly.

Han Li's heart tightened. He quickly activated his Spirit Refinement Art, which brought his spirit back to alertness. However, his gaze towards the girl grew several shades more serious. With a thought, his spiritual sense swept directly over her.

"Late Integration Stage!"

Han Li couldn't help but feel surprised.

The aura the girl had just displayed was certainly no less than that of a typical Grand Ascension stage cultivator. Yet, her cultivation was only at the Integration Stage. This was truly beyond all expectations.

As for the dozen or so wolf-headed, bear-bodied monsters, their entire bodies were blood-red. Each of them also had cultivation at the early to mid Integration Stage. However, when gathered together, they exuded a terrifying aura no weaker than that of an ordinary Grand Ascension stage cultivator.

Han Li's thoughts raced. He secretly pondered the blood-skirted girl's origins. His attacks slowed slightly. The sky-filling sword shadows immediately dispersed and vanished into thin air, and the three several-hundred-yard-tall mountain peaks also solidified and remained suspended high in the air.

"Who are you? Are you also from the Asura Spider clan?" the giant ape roared, its voice echoing like thunder.

The girl's aura was very similar to that of other Asura Spiders, but it also contained another somewhat familiar aura. Upon careful recollection, it was strikingly similar to that of the Skyfish from the Land of Dry Fire.

"I am the young mistress of this city," the blood-skirted girl said to Han Li with a smile, her autumnal eyes swirling. "You fellow Daoists are all from the outside, aren't you? I'm not sure how my clan has offended you all, necessitating such violence. Why don't we sit down and have a proper discussion? Perhaps we can turn hostility into friendship." Her tone treated him as a complete equal, showing no fear whatsoever towards a Grand Ascension stage being.

"'Turn hostility into friendship?'" the giant ape replied coldly, his face expressionless. "Unless your clan is willing to hand over your clan's core crystal, even if I, Han, were to agree, the other fellow Daoists would never consent."

The blood-skirted girl's expression subtly changed upon hearing this. Just as she was about to say something more, the Asura Spider Matriarch, from a distance, shouted at the girl:

"'Ying'er, why waste words with them?'" the Matriarch bellowed. "They are here to seize our clan's divine abilities rooted in the laws of nature. It's a matter of life or death for us; there's no possibility of stopping. Hurry and act!"

After the girl appeared, the Asura Spider Matriarch immediately shed all restraint, her words filled with fierce hostility.

The blood-skirted girl's brow furrowed upon hearing this. She raised her head and glanced at the other two battle groups, then sighed and said:

"I originally wanted to avoid fighting, but now it seems incredibly difficult. In that case, please don't blame me for being merciless."

As the girl spoke the latter sentences, her face, though still charming, her voice suddenly turned chillingly cold.

An extreme sense of danger suddenly arose in Han Li's heart, which tightened. Without hesitation, he moved his feet, and his body instantly transformed into a blur, shooting backward.

Almost simultaneously, a blood-red light appeared in the sky near Han Li. A colossal claw, wreathed in surging blood energy, struck down like lightning, silently, with not the slightest prior sign.

With a flash of blood light, the spot where Han Li had stood was instantly engulfed in blood mist.

Then, the blood mist swirled once more, and another blood-skirted girl emerged with a smile.

Meanwhile, the 'Ying'er' within the stone city's light barrier blurred and instantly transformed into one of the surrounding wolf-headed, bear-bodied monsters.

Han Li was startled!

The giant ape quickly pointed a finger at the void opposite, and a streak of green light shot out from his fingertip. After a flicker, it transformed into a green rainbow over ten yards long. With another flash, it teleported in front of the blood-skirted girl, circling her like lightning.

An astonishing scene unfolded.

The 'Ying'er' encircled by the green rainbow not only showed no panic but instead revealed a strange smile towards Han Li. With a flip of her pale, tender hand, she spread her five fingers and directly clawed at the green rainbow.

Han Li's pupils constricted slightly, but he unhesitatingly activated his sword art.

Immediately, the green rainbow's cold light intensified, and it coiled, transforming into a lifelike green dragon. After pouncing with bared fangs and claws, it actually swallowed the girl whole.

But the next moment, a loud 'bang' resonated from within the green dragon's body. Then, countless threads of blood pierced through it from within, tearing the green dragon apart instantly.

The blood-skirted girl let out a delicate laugh, and surprisingly, she reappeared faintly within the blood light.

Han Li, in his giant ape form, roared furiously. He suddenly raised a furry palm and remotely slapped it forward.

Violent fluctuations erupted in the sky far away. A colossal hand, about an acre in size, tore through the void and appeared, enveloped by countless golden electric arcs. It then struck down with lightning speed.

With an earth-shattering boom, electric light flashed wildly, and golden energy splattered in all directions. An incredibly immense force swept downwards.

Even though the girl possessed incredible divine abilities, the moment she touched this immense force, her smile froze, her body disintegrated and dispersed, and she was completely submerged by the golden electric light.

When all the fluctuating light subsided, only a dimly lit, dull green small sword remained in the empty space.

At the same time, within the stone city's defenses, a wolf-headed, bear-bodied monster exploded with a 'bang', turning into a burst of blood mist.

When this blood mist solidified again, the blood-skirted girl reappeared with a smile.

Han Li witnessed all this, a hint of astonishment flashing in his eyes. The giant ape, however, raised a hand and beckoned to the small sword in the distance.

Immediately, the small sword let out a soft hum and shot back. After a flash, it disappeared into his palm.

Han Li lowered his head to look, and his expression subtly changed.

He saw that the Azure Bamboo Cloudswarm Sword was covered in bloodstains on its surface, its green light dim, clearly appearing to have its spirituality damaged.

A sharp glint flashed in the giant ape's eyes. He suddenly rubbed the small sword between his two hands, and immediately, a 'rumble' sounded, with golden arcs swirling between his fingers.

When all the electric light subsided again, the small sword that reappeared had all its bloodstains vanish from its surface, and it regained its misty green, bright color.

"'Blood Spirit Art! You actually cultivate the most evil art of the blood path!' Han Li exclaimed. 'No wonder you dared to defile even my life-bound flying sword!'" The giant ape tossed the small sword in his hand and instantly inhaled it into his body. Then, his expression turning cold, he spoke to the distance with a rumble.

"'Fellow Daoist is truly well-informed to know even a thing or two about the Blood Spirit Art,' the blood-skirted girl said, letting out a knowing chuckle as she saw the giant ape so easily restore the flying sword's spirituality. 'However, I also didn't expect your life-bound flying sword to be refined from the Golden Thunder Bamboo. Otherwise, I wouldn't have gone through that trouble just now. Since that's the case, I shall use my true abilities to spar with you, fellow Daoist.'"

"'Very well, then I, Han, shall certainly learn the mysteries of the Blood Spirit Art,' Han Li said with a cold chuckle. 'But before that, Fellow Daoist Yi, don't just stand there; let's attack together.'" The giant ape he transformed into suddenly performed hand seals with all three of its arms simultaneously, then pointed a finger at the void above the stone city.

After a hum, the three mountain peaks, which had been suspended motionlessly high in the sky, immediately spun once, suddenly swelled, and transformed into colossal peaks over a thousand yards in size.

One mountain peak instantly released layers of grey light, which then solidified into over a dozen gigantic, tentacle-like entities, lashing fiercely at the light barrier below.

Beneath another mountain peak, a great 'hissing' sound filled the air. Countless invisible sword qi appeared out of thin air, forming a colossal sword net that joined the attack.

From the last mountain peak, after a flash of five-colored crystalline light, rings of light appeared out of thin air and unhesitatingly smashed down towards the ground below.

The remaining defenses on the stone city immediately flashed wildly, and once again became precarious.

The old man surnamed Yi, who was rapidly regenerating his body on the city wall, saw this scene. His expression instantly changed drastically. After a shake of his shoulder, he wanted to stop his repairs and first deal with the present situation.

However, fluctuations arose beside him, and the blood-skirted girl named 'Ying'er' surprisingly flashed out, extending a delicate jade-like hand to pat him.

The old man surnamed Yi was startled. He naturally instinctively tried to dodge, but the jade hand, which had just extended the moment before, somehow pressed onto the old man's shoulder the next moment. His protective spiritual light and evasive actions had no effect whatsoever.

The old man was filled with shock and anger. Just as he was about to say something, the jade hand on his shoulder suddenly flashed with green light and instantly became transparent like crystal. At the same time, a familiar power of law appeared, instantly enveloping his entire body.

An incredible phenomenon occurred.

The old man's bloody, fragmented arm and lower body, which had merely been distorted and blurred on the surface, under the effect of the power of law, suddenly shimmered with dark green light. After just a blur, they became exactly as they were before being damaged.

At this, the girl gave an enchanting smile and moved her jade hand away from the old man's shoulder.

"Object Spirit Reversion!"

Han Li, witnessing this scene from a distance, was truly aghast. He couldn't help but exclaim in shock.

This was definitely not some similar technique to an 'undying body', but rather a legendary divine ability that could only be unleashed after truly mastering the Law of Time to a minor degree.

As for the old man surnamed Yi, upon seeing all this, he was naturally overjoyed. He turned his head and somewhat excitedly asked the girl:

"Fellow Daoist Ying'er, have you perhaps successfully comprehended that item!"
