Chapter 2264: Sacrificial Thunder Reappears

Volume 11: The Descent of True Immortals, Chapter 2225: The Reappearance of Sacrifice Lightning

Han Li naturally did not know what was happening deep within the underground palace. However, after that strange sensation disappeared, he couldn't help but feel a little relieved.

The four of them now exited the garden and arrived at what appeared to be an ordinary small plaza.

Across the plaza, a hall spanning several acres stood prominently. It was completely silent, without a single sound.

"This is strange. My divine sense can't penetrate inside. Is the restriction here still active?" Greenstone said with a hint of solemnity.

"It's not a restriction. This hall is constructed from a special material unique to our Sacred Realm. This material, called 'Styx Sand,' naturally possesses the unique ability to block divine sense. It's not surprising that Fellow Daoist Greenstone cannot probe its interior," Baohua said with a light chuckle after carefully observing the hall.

"No, wait, there seems to be the aura of a moth-worm inside!"

Elder Greenstone, however, did not truly feel at ease despite Xielian's words. Instead, his nose twitched twice, and his expression darkened as he spoke in a low voice. Simultaneously, he extended a hand into the air, and a short blade shrouded in green mist silently materialized.

"Moth-worm aura! Fellow Daoist Greenstone, you can't be mistaken, can you?" Xielian was startled by the news and quickly drew a finger across the air in front of her. Three faint silver rings flashed into existence before her.

"Hmph, I cultivate the 'Hundred Lives' technique. With focus, I can distinguish anyone by their aura, even from dozens of miles away. What's this little distance?" Elder Greenstone scoffed, speaking with great confidence.

Han Li frowned upon hearing this, gazing at the hall across the way for a moment. Suddenly, he rubbed his hands together and then raised them simultaneously.

After two thunderous "booms," two thick golden arcs shot out, then coiled down, transforming into two golden pythons over ten zhang long. With a flash, they lunged through the main entrance into the hall.

Inside the hall, thunder instantly roared, and countless bursts of electric light could be faintly seen exploding.

"Evil-Dispelling Divine Thunder!" Xielian's expression changed slightly upon seeing the astonishing power of the golden lightning.

Although generally, the Evil-Dispelling Divine Thunder shouldn't have much of a restrictive effect on a Demon Ancestor like her, when unleashed by someone of Han Li's caliber, it naturally still posed a considerable threat.

At that moment, amidst the thunder in the hall, several sharp hissing sounds suddenly emanated. Then, with a few "puffs," five dark figures flashed out, moving swiftly to line up on the small plaza, directly facing Han Li and the other Mahayana cultivators.

"Indeed, it's these fierce insects!" Greenstone said, his face chilling as he clearly saw the true appearance of the dark figures.

The five dark figures were, surprisingly, five giant human-faced insects, each three to four zhang tall, with an extremely grotesque male head atop its slender neck.

Their forelimbs also clutched what appeared to be crude club-like weapons.

However, apart from the largest human-faced insect standing in the very center, which had a light blue carapace, the other four had dark bodies and were extremely similar to the remains of the human-faced insect Han Li and the others had previously seen.

As soon as the leading blue human-faced insect saw Han Li and the four, its face instantly contorted into a ferocious grin, and it chuckled eerily in human speech:

"Gagga... Excellent... Outsiders... Another feast of flesh and blood... Gagga..."

"Yes... I miss the taste of blood food so much... I've forgotten how long it's been since the last time... Gagga..."

The other human-faced insects also showed greedy expressions.

Han Li and the others naturally also clearly saw these human-faced insects.

Xielian's face sank upon hearing this. With a single point of her hand into the air, the three silver rings in front of her suddenly buzzed loudly amidst a burst of brilliant light.

After looking at the five human-faced insects, Han Li smiled and said to Xielian and Greenstone:

"To encounter five at once... one might say it's neither too good nor too bad. My Crab Brother and I will handle three of them; the remaining two should be no problem for you two, right?"

"Of course, no problem. Fellow Daoist Crab and Fellow Daoist Han are not ordinary Mahayana cultivators. This is a case of the capable doing more, isn't it?" Xielian chuckled and readily agreed.

Elder Greenstone, naturally, would not object. With a slight flick of the short blade in his hand, a surge of green mist instantly coiled into a flood dragon, lunging directly at one of the human-faced insects.

The human-faced insect, seeing this, showed no fear. Opening its mouth, it actually spat out a stream of grayish-white gas.

A tremendous roar!

After the two streams of gas collided, they immediately swirled together, spiraling straight upwards, like two intertwined flood dragons, one green and one gray, continuously tearing at each other.

The three silver rings in front of Xielian flashed and then disappeared immediately afterward.

The next moment, a ripple appeared above another giant insect, and the three silver rings vaguely materialized, then dropped down fiercely.

A ferocious expression appeared on the human-faced insect below. It simply swung the two crude clubs it held in its hands violently at the air. Immediately, the nearby air boomed, and two surging, vast forces of white energy crashed like raging waves onto the three silver rings.

The three silver rings flickered wildly with light, but were, for a moment, held back and unable to descend.

The blue human-faced insect in the middle, seeing this, let out another eerie cackle. It also gave a slight wave of the dark club in its hand, and with just a slight movement of its hind legs, its entire body blurred and vanished into the nearby void.

Upon seeing this, Daoist Crab's eyes flashed. He calmly stated, "Leave it to me," and then, with a flash of silver lightning on his body, he abruptly vanished with a clap of thunder.

The next moment, high in the void, after a muffled "boom" of thunder, Daoist Crab and the blue giant insect unexpectedly materialized with a jolt from within a violent explosion, simultaneously emerging from the void.

Without a word, Daoist Crab grabbed at the empty air with both hands. Silver electric arcs swirled and condensed, forming two gleaming silver giant blades. Then, his body suddenly swelled to a colossal size, over ten zhang tall. With a mighty stride forward, he charged directly towards the giant insect amidst rumbling sounds, hacking down at its head.

The blue giant insect let out a shriek. Its body also swayed, growing several times larger. Waving the giant club in its hand, it met the attack directly, completely without fear.

A continuous series of earth-shattering roars echoed. Neither dodged nor evaded; they confronted each other, wildly clashing their weapons.

Daoist Crab's face remained expressionless, but the pair of silver blades he wielded spun around his opponent like two silver wheels, constantly rolling up and down.

Meanwhile, the blue human-faced giant insect continued to cackle eerily. The black giant club in its hand transformed into a thick black mist, swirling and dancing around its body, and its ugly face bore an almost frenzied, fanatic expression.

For a moment, neither of them could gain the upper hand.

At this moment, a gigantic green flower's phantom appeared behind Xielian. After flashing wildly a few times, it immediately transformed into hundreds, even thousands, of green blade lights. With a command, they became a surging sea of blades, directly sweeping towards the giant insect opposite her.

As for Elder Greenstone, a gleaming golden giant seal had appeared in his hand at some point. With a flick of his finger, the giant seal immediately transformed into a golden mountain and relentlessly smashed his opponent.

Although the human-faced giant insect he faced possessed an exceptionally powerful body, it could only continuously dodge in the face of such astonishing attacks, daring not to directly confront them.

As soon as Han Li saw that the two had also separately used their divine abilities to forcibly entangle two human-faced insects, he immediately cast his gaze towards the last two remaining human-faced insects.

The last two insects now showed a hint of hesitation on their faces, clearly still undecided whether to immediately assist their companions or first deal with the only idle enemy before them.

Seeing this, Han Li smiled faintly and said nothing. He simply formed a hand seal with one hand, and countless golden runes flew out from his body.

But with a roar of thunder, the runes instantly transformed into dazzling golden arcs, completely enveloping Han Li's body.

He changed his hand seal with one hand, while with the other, he swiftly grabbed at the empty air.

All the golden electric arcs swirled and gathered into his palm, instantly forming a brilliant golden lightning ball that rumbled continuously in his hand, emanating an extremely terrifying aura.

As soon as the two human-faced insects saw this, they immediately realized Han Li's threat. Almost simultaneously, after a low hiss, they flapped the wings on their backs and charged directly at Han Li, each leaving a trail of afterimages.

One of the insects opened its large mouth and immediately sprayed out an extremely pungent black liquid.

The other insect, however, swung its two arms violently, and the two thick clubs in its hands whistled as they flew directly from its grip, hurtling towards Han Li.

Before the clubs could even truly land, two almost suffocating gales of foul wind assailed his face.

Han Li raised his eyebrows, and with a gentle sway of his shoulder, his entire body instantly dissolved into a spiritual light, vanishing like a popping bubble.

Both thick clubs and the black pungent liquid missed entirely.

However, the two giant insects were unusually quick-witted. Upon seeing this, they immediately flapped their wings, and their bodies likewise blurred and vanished from their original spots.

The next moment, ripples appeared at the edges of both sides of the plaza, and the two giant insects silently materialized.

An even stranger scene then unfolded.

At the spot where Han Li had originally vanished, scattered green lights recondensed, and a faint human figure reappeared.

Han Li had, in fact, not left the vicinity at all. He had simply employed a minor illusion technique to easily deceive the two insects.

Upon seeing this, the two giant insects knew something was wrong. They immediately roared in unison, preparing to pounce on Han Li again.

But at that moment, Han Li had already activated a hand seal and gently tossed the lightning ball in his hand high into the sky.

With a flash of golden light, the lightning ball vanished into the high sky, but a thunderous, earth-shattering roar immediately resounded.

After countless golden runes scattered high in the sky, a golden lightning pillar as thick as a water vat flashed down, striking one of the human-faced insects with pinpoint accuracy.

It was precisely the Sacrifice Lightning secret technique that Han Li had only recently mastered!

A blood-curdling shriek!

Within the sizzling golden light, the fierce insect didn't even have time to struggle before it instantly turned to dust and completely vanished.

This Sacrifice Lightning technique was so formidable that even this fierce human-faced insect couldn't withstand a single blow!

The other giant insect, seeing this, was both shocked and enraged. Before it could charge, it suddenly let out a piercing shriek, and an invisible sound wave surged directly towards Han Li.
