Chapter 1988: Refining Technique

Han Li's meditation lasted for a full two months.

On a certain day after two months, when he finally opened his eyes again, not only were all lingering troubles completely eliminated from his body, but his magic power and spiritual energy had also returned to their peak states.

Only then did Han Li truly relax.

Even if Yuancha and other demon ancestors were to come knocking now, he was confident he could put up a fight.

After waking up, Han Li pondered for a moment, then with a flip of his hand, a white wooden box and a blue jade bottle simultaneously appeared.

A golden light flashed in his hand, and the white wooden box was immediately enveloped in a layer of golden light, rising into the air and hovering motionlessly.

Han Li gazed at the remaining blue jade bottle, a hint of excitement appearing on his face.

"The Two Qi of Chaos," he murmured, "I've heard of this item for a long time, but I never expected to truly obtain this spiritual treasure one day. If I can refine this, reaching the late Integration stage shouldn't be much of a problem." He whispered a few words to himself, then flicked the cap of the jade bottle with a finger.

With a muffled "thud," the bottle cap popped open on its own.

A buzzing sound emanated from the bottle, and a ball of light shot out, then after a flicker, it surged upwards.

Han Li's expression darkened. He blurred an arm and made a grabbing motion in the void, and instantly, an invisible immense force enveloped the entire cave.

With his five fingers glowing, he pulled back!

With a loud "whooshing" sound, the green light trembled, then was forcibly pulled back and landed in his palm.

Han Li let out a soft breath. Supporting it with one hand, he squinted his eyes, carefully examining the object in his palm.

Within the flickering green light, two bean-sized points of light, one black and one white, flickered erratically.

A blue light flashed in Han Li's pupils as he channeled his full magic power into his eyes. The two previously somewhat blurry points of light instantly became clearly visible.

However, the moment he clearly saw the two points of light, his body trembled, and an expression of blankness instantly appeared on his face. He became completely motionless.

After a full meal's worth of time, an expression of struggle suddenly appeared on Han Li's face. He clenched his teeth, spat out a mouthful of fresh blood, and then his body shook, falling backward.

"What terrifying Two Qi of Chaos! What powerful Samsara Illusions!" Han Li's body moved, and he sat cross-legged again, but his face was pale with lingering fear as he muttered, "It really is as dreadful as the legends say. If I hadn't suddenly awakened at the last moment, I might have truly fallen forever into the world created by the Two Qi of Chaos without even realizing it."

The moment he used his Bright Clarity Spirit Eyes to perceive the Two Qi of Chaos, he was actually drawn in by the primordial power it contained, instantly falling into countless illusory worlds of various sizes, unable to extricate himself.

If he hadn't had the foresight to cultivate a self-activating surge of True Essence within his body beforehand, designed to forcibly awaken him within a set time, he might truly have withered away and perished here, sitting until the day of his demise.

Although Han Li was quite shaken, he no longer had any doubts about the object in his hand.

Only the legendary Two Qi of Chaos could possess such terrifying power; naturally, there could be nothing false about it. Now, as long as he obtained the secret art for refining this spiritual treasure, reaching the late Integration stage would be just around the corner.

Even Han Li, who was usually extremely calm, couldn't help but feel a hint of excitement deep down.

However, before that, he still needed to deal with the two old devils in the Soul Suppression Pagoda.

As he pondered this, he suddenly pointed a finger at the green light cluster in his hand.

After a low crackle of thunder, a golden light flashed at his fingertip, and a thin electric arc shot out, instantly vanishing into the green light cluster, only to roll back with lightning speed.

The black and white points of light within the green cluster remained remarkably calm, as if nothing had happened.

But Han Li's face showed satisfaction. After pointing at the blue jade bottle with one hand, a white mist immediately sprayed from its mouth, coiling around the green light cluster.

With a flick of his sleeve, the jade bottle was instantly collected and vanished.

Han Li then shifted his gaze to the wooden box floating in the void. He opened his mouth and spat out a series of spherical beads, then with another pat to the top of his head, slowly closed his eyes...

After a short while, fluctuations appeared in a mysterious space. Han Li's divine sense avatar flashed into existence high in the air.

He swept his gaze around, then frowned slightly.

The surrounding void was a vast expanse of white, with countless snowflakes drifting down. This place had actually transformed into a glacial world!

However, before he could make any move, the nearby void fluctuated, and two figures simultaneously appeared.

One wore black armor and a black helmet, the other a dark robe. They were Feng Xie and Che Qigong, the two old demon masters.

The moment the two saw Han Li appear, they seemed both surprised and delighted. Feng Xie even burst into laughter and directly asked:

"Fellow Daoist Han, why have you only just appeared now! Brother Che and I thought something terrible had happened to your main body, that you'd suffered some great calamity!"

"I really should have come to see you two earlier," Han Li replied with a smile, half-truthfully. "But over the past year, I encountered several adversaries and have been pursued until now, only recently escaping danger."

"Since Fellow Daoist Han is here, it seems you are safe and sound. I, Che, congratulate you. But have you managed to obtain the Two Qi of Chaos?" Old Monster Che asked, highly anxious, after a few casual words.

"Since you two are within the Devil Suppression Lock, you should be clearer than I am about whether the Two Qi of Chaos is missing," Han Li said lightly, raising an eyebrow.

Upon hearing Han Li's words, Old Monster Che and Feng Xie exchanged a glance. Far from being angry, both showed expressions of pleasant surprise.

"Haha, it's true that shortly after we parted ways last time, we sensed some unusual changes in the Devil Suppression Lock. However, since we are trapped within it and restricted by the seals, our perception of these changes was very vague. We still needed you, Fellow Daoist, to confirm it personally. From your tone just now, could it be that you've truly obtained the Two Qi of Chaos?" Feng Xie asked, his face beaming with delight, his tone unconsciously becoming exceptionally polite.

"Although there were some mishaps in the Land of Yellow Springs' Earthfire, I have indeed extracted some of the Two Qi of Chaos," Han Li slowly admitted after a moment of contemplation. "Fellow Daoists, shouldn't you now tell me the refining method truthfully?"

"There's no hurry for that," Che Qigong said, his joyful expression receding slightly as he asked cautiously, "Although we believe Fellow Daoist Han would not deceive us, shouldn't you also provide physical proof that you've truly obtained the Two Qi of Chaos?"

Upon hearing this, Feng Xie's expression shifted, and he nodded in agreement.

"Physical proof? That's easy."

Han Li narrowed his eyes, saying indifferently as if he had expected this, and suddenly rubbed his hands together.

A booming sound!

A golden electric arc flashed into existence in his palm, then, urged by a spell, it suddenly split into two thin electric threads, shooting straight towards Feng Xie and Old Monster Che, one to each side.

Seeing this, the two devils did not dodge, but instead, one grabbed it with a single hand, while the other suddenly inhaled with an open mouth.

With a "zzzt" sound, one golden arc was directly caught by Feng Xie in his fingers, and the other was inhaled into the other's belly!

Both closed their eyes, and at the same time, released their spiritual senses to envelop the electric threads they had received.

Witnessing this, Han Li simply stood in place with his arms crossed, his expression unchanged.

After only a few breaths' time, Feng Xie and Che Qigong opened their eyes, one after the other, both with expressions of satisfaction.

"Good," Feng Xie said with a hint of excitement in his eyes. "Although the aura is incredibly faint, it is indeed the aura of the Two Qi of Chaos. It seems Fellow Daoist Han has not deceived us. In that case, we can properly discuss how to proceed with the next step of our cooperation."

"Didn't we agree that you two would hand over the refining method to me, and I, Han, would give you half of the Two Qi of Chaos?" Han Li's expression darkened, and his voice suddenly turned several degrees colder. "Have you two changed your minds?"

"Fellow Daoist Han, you misunderstand," Che Qigong said with a chuckle. "Our agreement remains unchanged, of course. However, the specific method for fulfilling the agreement needs to be carefully considered. Otherwise, do you think it's better for us to first reveal the refining method, or for Fellow Daoist Han to first hand over the Two Qi of Chaos?"

"I see!" Han Li's expression softened slightly as he pondered. "While we are bound by oaths, when it comes to such a vital treasure, it is indeed a bit troublesome."

"That's why Fellow Daoist Feng and I discussed it and came up with a compromise that benefits both sides," Che Qigong stated, enunciating each word. "We're just not sure if Fellow Daoist Han will agree."

"You may as well tell me first," Han Li said lightly, his expression shifting.

"It's actually quite simple," Feng Xie explained gravely, his expression serious. "We'll divide the transaction process into several parts. We will first impart the first part of the incantation to you, for you to discern its authenticity. If you find it to be genuine, you will then hand over a portion of the Two Qi of Chaos to us. Subsequent exchanges will follow the same method. We believe that by the end, you would not betray your inner demon oath for the small amount of Two Qi of Chaos remaining in the final exchange. And we, in turn, would certainly not give up the easily obtainable Two Qi of Chaos for the remaining incantations."

Han Li remained motionless, but the flickering light in his eyes indicated that he was carefully considering the other party's proposal.

The two old devils were confident that Han Li would agree, but seeing his expression, they felt a touch of nervousness.

However, both were well-experienced individuals and naturally maintained a composed demeanor, simply awaiting Han Li's reaction.

"It is indeed a good method!" Han Li said calmly after a long exhale. "Alright, let's proceed with the exchange as you two have proposed."

"Haha, Fellow Daoist Han, your decision is absolutely wise," Feng Xie said, delighted but also with a hint of warning. "Then let's begin the transaction now. This is the first part of the refining incantation; you may examine it thoroughly. As long as you find no problems with the incantation, you must bring the Two Qi of Chaos to us within three days. If you fail to arrive by then, we will consider that you have abandoned this transaction. Heh heh, at that time, you will not only suffer from the backlash of your inner demons, but also harbor a foolish hope if you ever wish to refine the Two Qi of Chaos again."
