**Volume 10: Battle in the Demonic Realm**
Time passed slowly. After a good while, the invisible pressure permeating the void gradually grew immense. The layer of ice and snow that had just formed on the mountaintop even began to emit strange cracking sounds.
A tremendous "boom" resounded!
The black vortex in the sky solidified, and an electric arc as thick as a water vat descended from its center. As it passed, a wave of scorching heat dispersed through the void, and it flashed down, striking another vortex within the colossal pit.
The thick silver arc vanished in a flash. The mist near the vortex violently churned, and a deep roar, seemingly from an abyss, suddenly rang out, filled with what sounded like endless agony.
Immediately after, another tremendous roar erupted from underground, and a terrifying tremor rapidly spread out from the colossal pit.
The entire mountaintop began to tremble. The incredibly thick and glistening layer of ice covering the ground fractured into countless fine fissures under the intense vibrations, shattering inch by inch.
But just then, electric light flickered within the black vortex high above, and another thick silver arc condensed, descending once more without hesitation.
As this silver arc also cleaved straight towards the colossal pit, an enraged roar erupted from the mist below, and a cluster of milky yellow flames spurted out, directly blocking the silver arc.
The two instantly intertwined.
The yellow flames appeared to burn fiercely, yet they emitted an astonishing chill. As the firelight flickered, ghostly faces occasionally manifested within them, appearing extremely hideous and terrifying!
With a muffled sound, the silver arc and the flames simultaneously disintegrated and vanished!
"Yellow Springs Underworld Fire? No, such a small amount of underworld fire shouldn't possess this much power!" Han Li thought, narrowing his eyes as he witnessed the scene.
But at that moment, the voice of Tianchan, full of surprise, suddenly echoed in his ear: "This Yellow Millet Stone Spirit truly deserves its reputation as a spirit creature that has cultivated for tens of thousands of years in the Yellow Springs Underworld Fire. It has already combined some of the underworld fire with its own demonic energy, transforming it into a powerful divine ability. Master Han, when you face this spirit creature later, you must be extra careful of this demonic fire."
"Thank you for the reminder, Master. I will certainly be cautious," Han Li replied via voice transmission, his heart tensing slightly.
The electric arcs striking down from high above came one after another, their frequency accelerating. However, the yellow demonic fire erupting from the bottom of the colossal pit was equally relentless; clusters of fireballs shot out, blocking every single incoming strike and rendering the lightning ineffective.
This action, however, clearly enraged something in the unseen.
The black vortex high in the sky squirmed, and the electric arcs ceased for a moment.
But the next moment, after a roar from within the vortex, silver lightning spheres, each the size of a human head, emerged. They crackled loudly within the black clouds, electric threads flickering, and were so densely packed that their numbers were impossible to count.
This astonishing sight clearly made it impossible for the stone spirit below to remain hidden safely in the mist.
After a strange cry, the yellow mist churned, and a creature about a foot in size suddenly shot out from the bottom of the colossal pit. With a flicker, it then suspended itself in the void over a thousand feet above the pit's bottom.
It stared with wide-open eyes at the lightning spheres in the sky, emitting a low gurgling sound from its mouth, appearing as if facing a formidable foe.
From outside the mountaintop, Han Li naturally gazed intently.
He saw that this creature had an unusually large mouth, slender limbs, and a short, thick neck almost fused with its body, strongly resembling a toad. However, in the middle of its head, it had another blood-red eye, its entire body glowed with golden light, and the ends of its limbs were not the webbed feet of an ordinary toad, but four seemingly sharp claws.
"This thing is the Yellow Millet Stone Spirit! It certainly looks quite unusual!" Han Li marveled inwardly.
The moment the stone spirit's main body appeared, the lightning spheres in the air seemed greatly provoked. With a tremendous roar, they all simultaneously flashed downwards.
In an instant, the entire mountaintop was enveloped by dense lightning, as if countless hailstones of lightning were falling from the sky at once.
Witnessing this scene, the Yellow Millet Stone Spirit swiveled its eyes, stopped its low gurgle, and then opened its mouth, surprisingly spitting out a small yellow flower.
This flower glowed with a hazy yellow light, its surface covered with five-colored runes. Expanding against the wind, it grew to about ten feet in size, completely obscuring the stone spirit's body.
This strange giant flower was clearly no ordinary object!
The moment the giant flower was conjured, the lightning spheres in the air, as if locked onto their target, simultaneously struck towards the stone spirit. Several, even a dozen at a time, collided with the yellow giant flower.
The giant flower slowly rotated, and as the five-colored runes on its surface lit up, all the lightning spheres, with a flash of electricity, surprisingly disappeared into it without a sound, as mysteriously as a clay ox entering the sea.
What was even more astonishing was that every time the giant flower swallowed a wave of lightning spheres, its petals would visibly grow larger.
After more than a dozen waves, the yellow giant flower was remarkably several times larger than before.
As a result, the giant flower's speed of devouring lightning spheres also increased significantly. In just a moment, all the lightning spheres filling the sky were completely absorbed by the giant flower.
The Yellow Millet Stone Spirit, hiding beneath the giant flower, appeared completely unharmed. Upon seeing the giant flower's current state, it even joyfully emitted a clear cry. Then, the stone spirit's belly swelled, and it suddenly took a forceful inhale towards the sky, surprisingly re-absorbing the giant flower above its head, which transformed into a ball of glowing mist, back into its abdomen.
A clap of thunder!
Electric light flashed on the stone spirit's body, and a dozen thick silver arcs surged out from within it. Intertwining and crackling loudly over its body, they surprisingly formed a layer of silver energy netting.
The spirit creature rapidly expanded within the lightning. In just a few breaths, it transformed to the size of a calf, its aura simultaneously surging. With all three eyes wide open, it again emitted a strange cry, seemingly having greatly advanced its cultivation!
Thunder rumbled again within the black vortex high above, and with countless silver serpents dancing wildly, over a dozen silver lightning dragons appeared intermittently within it, seemingly ready to rush down in the next wave.
"This is quite troublesome," Venerable Black Rain suddenly said via voice transmission, his words tinged with vexation. "I didn't expect this Yellow Millet Stone Spirit to possess such a divine ability to convert heavenly lightning power. It seems if we wait for it to pass the lightning tribulation, its cultivation might not decrease but actually advance. Since that's the case, there's no need to wait any longer, Fellow Daoist Han! Master Tianchan! Let's act!"
Han Li naturally had no objections and immediately agreed via voice transmission.
On the other side, Monk Tianchan also nodded slightly with a solemn expression.
At this moment, the dozen or so lightning dragons in the black clouds finally roared and descended all at once.
"Act!"
The old man, witnessing this scene, let out a low cry without hesitation and unhesitatingly performed a hand seal, dropping all pretense.
With a "whoosh"!
After his figure flickered, he immediately transformed into a wisp of black smoke and vanished from his spot.
The next moment, a ripple appeared thousands of feet directly above the mountaintop, and the old man's figure flashed into existence.
After revealing a grim smile towards the ground below, he suddenly raised his hand.
A mass of silver light shot out and, with a flicker, transformed into a gigantic silver bell, over a hundred feet tall, which fiercely descended to cover the toad-like spirit creature below.
At the same time, countless black threads emerged out of thin air in the void near the mountaintop. With a whooshing sound as they tore through the air, they shot towards the spirit creature.
And in the void behind the Yellow Millet Stone Spirit, a white lotus also silently emerged. A white light flashed on it, and a faint human figure strangely appeared.
It was none other than Master Tianchan!
The monk lowered his brows and head, his face devoid of expression. But an object flew out from his sleeve: a string of glistening Buddhist beads!
The Buddhist beads flickered and instantly transformed into dozens of five-colored light spheres that shot out.
Before even hitting the stone spirit, they first emitted rumbling sounds of wind and thunder. As the light spheres expanded against the wind, each one grew to the size of a human head.
Faced with this sudden barrage of attacks, the Yellow Millet Stone Spirit was first startled, then erupted into a furious shriek.
As it opened its mouth, the yellow giant flower seen earlier was spurted out again, directly meeting the giant silver bell descending from above.
Then its body blurred slightly and surprisingly began to spin rapidly in place!
Golden light flashed, and countless golden rays emerged from its body. With another flicker, they shot out in all directions like a torrential storm.
As the golden rays and black threads intertwined, they immediately emitted ear-piercing crackling sounds. Countless light clusters bloomed around the spirit creature, and the two colors of spiritual light illuminated the entire mountaintop.
The black threads, surprisingly, were unable to approach the stone spirit by even a single step! Under the assault of the golden rays, the five-colored light spheres were also temporarily unable to approach the stone spirit's main body.
On the other side, the silver bell and the giant flower collided. As the giant bell vibrated, it suddenly emitted clear "clang, clang, clang" sounds on its own.
Each sound was louder than the last, and each penetrated deeper into the soul.
A strange scene unfolded!
The yellow giant flower, which had been facing the silver bell, suddenly, without any warning, shattered inch by inch after three chimes of the bell, vanishing into countless specks of spiritual light.
Then the silver bell blurred again, instantly expanding several times over. It descended with a rumble like a small mountain, surprisingly completely enveloping the Yellow Millet Stone Spirit.
Witnessing this scene, both the old man and the monk were startled. After expressions of delight appeared on their faces, the hand seals they were performing paused.
At this moment, lightning flashed intensely within the black clouds, and the dozen or so silver lightning dragons had already descended, baring their fangs and claws. But the moment they approached the mountaintop, threads of silver light flashed, and a gigantic silver net, covering the entire mountaintop, emerged.
The dragons plunged headfirst into the silver net, surprisingly exploding one after another and transforming into countless electric threads that were instantly absorbed by the giant net.
This "Silver Sky Thunder Net," previously set up by Venerable Black Rain, surprisingly managed to completely block even heavenly lightning. It was indeed worthy of its reputation as a spiritual treasure listed on the Myriad Spirits Ranking.
The old man chanted incantations and rapidly flicked his ten fingers. Over a dozen spell seals flashed and vanished, disappearing into the giant bell.
With a roar from the silver giant bell, the spiritual light on its surface flickered erratically, about to be retrieved by Venerable Black Rain.
But in that brief delay, a world-shaking roar suddenly erupted from within the silver bell.
After a wave of strange coldness passed, the entire giant bell surprisingly shattered inch by inch!
Immediately after, rolling yellow flames surged out, and a ball of golden light shot from them like a meteor. With a blur, it suddenly turned and darted towards the colossal pit below.
The Yellow Millet Stone Spirit seemed to have realized the formidable strength of its current enemies and clearly wanted to flee downwards and escape.
