**Volume 10: War in the Demon Realm**
Just as Daoist Qinglong was forced to secretly depart Qitian City with his sect's most talented disciples, using a hidden teleportation array to sneak towards Tianyuan City under the cover of night, Han Li found himself in one of the most perilous situations he had faced since arriving in the Spirit Realm.
After sensing the successive failures of the temporary magical array he had deployed to obstruct his pursuers, as well as the Jia Yuan Talisman and the Nine Palace Heaven-Dry Talisman, he was greatly alarmed, his heart sinking into despair. Han Li had not expected these methods to truly defeat his opponent, but he certainly hadn't anticipated that they would fail even to briefly impede the Bloodlight Sacred Ancestor's avatar. What's more, the array and the two talismans, considered rare treasures, were instantly shattered the moment they were activated. Such a heaven-defying divine ability was beyond even Han Li's capabilities.
This proved that the Bloodlight Sacred Ancestor's avatar, hot on his heels, genuinely surpassed him in strength. Even employing his most lethal techniques, his chances of victory would not exceed fifty percent. Under these circumstances, Han Li was naturally unwilling to engage in a direct confrontation with his opponent. After all, if he lost the battle, he would truly perish. But even if he miraculously defeated his opponent, it would only cost the Bloodlight Sacred Ancestor an avatar. He would naturally never engage in such a disadvantageous endeavor.
Thus, after a brief probe revealed his pursuers' strength was far greater than he had anticipated, he immediately abandoned all other thoughts and began to devise a genuine escape strategy. Although he didn't know the full extent of the avatar's divine sense locking range, he knew that with the terrifying power of a Mahayana cultivator, he would never be able to shake off that faint, elusive lock unless he could instantly escape to a distance of over a hundred thousand li. However, covering such a vast distance would be impossible unless there was an extreme disparity in their escape speeds. As he surged forward, transformed into an Eel-Roc, various thoughts flooded his mind, and he pondered relentlessly.
Han Li, of course, was unaware that the Bloody Youth, who was just as relentlessly pursuing him, was also greatly astonished. The crimson boat they rode was a renowned flying treasure from the Demon Realm, capable of rivaling even a Mahayana cultivator's escape speed when fully propelled. While their avatar forms prevented them from fully unleashing the boat's speed, an ordinary Body Integration cultivator wouldn't be able to match its current pace at all. Despite driving this treasure with all their might for such a long time, they had barely closed the distance, leaving them feeling incredibly helpless. Fortunately, with three of them, they could take turns resting and propelling the crimson boat, alleviating fears of losing Han Li due to depleted spiritual power. Therefore, despite their inner frustration, the three maintained a calm and unperturbed demeanor.
For Han Li, however, a prolonged battle of attrition was simply not sustainable. Although he possessed aids like the Spirit Body and the Golden Dharma Aspect, he could only maintain the current distance by transforming into a Great Roc. Moreover, spirit medicines like ten-thousand-year spiritual milk, which instantly restored spiritual power, were already of little use for the immense spiritual power possessed by cultivators of their realm. Given his spiritual power, maintaining this transformed state for full-speed flight, even with continuous pill consumption and simultaneous absorption of top-grade spirit stones, would deplete him completely within five or six days at most. Thus, while Han Li pondered intensely, he also felt a growing sense of anxiety.
"Hold on," Han Li mused, his mind suddenly brightening. "The Bloodlight Sacred Ancestor is chasing me so relentlessly, it must be for the Demon Suppressing Lock. If I'm willing to part with this treasure, it seems there might be a way to distract his avatar!" "But this is an unfinished Profound Heaven Spirit Treasure," Han Li instantly reconsidered, feeling a pang of reluctance. "And if what Che Qigong, who is trapped inside, said is true, the chaotic Yin and Yang energies within it are of immense use to me. How could I willingly give it up so easily?" While his life was undoubtedly more important than any treasure, he hadn't yet reached a point of absolute desperation. How could he simply abandon such a precious item?
Han Li's expression flickered, and he became deeply hesitant. Suddenly, a cold glint appeared in his eyes as something occurred to him. Instantly, within a divine sense space inside the Great Roc he had transformed into, a flash of light revealed two identical Nascent Souls, one gold and one black. The golden Nascent Soul appeared resplendent, yet upon closer inspection, faint green light could occasionally be seen circulating around its body, as if its protective spiritual aura could shift between the two colors at will. The black Nascent Soul, conversely, had a cold expression, its body as dark as ink, emanating an extremely potent demonic aura.
Immediately, the golden Nascent Soul opened its mouth and spewed out over a dozen five-colored orbs. With a flash of radiant light, they began to spin continuously around it. The black Nascent Soul, meanwhile, lowered its brows and head, forming hand seals and chanting incantations without pause. The five-colored orbs suddenly transformed into five-colored eyes, radiating brilliant light and emitting finger-thick beams that rapidly vanished into the black Nascent Soul. Seeing this, the golden Nascent Soul's eyes lit up, and its plump little hand suddenly reached into the air. With a clear chime, a dazzling golden "golden brick" materialized. The golden Nascent Soul lightly tapped the golden brick with its finger. Immediately, crackling sounds intensified, lightning flashed wildly, and countless golden electric threads fragmented inch by inch from the brick's surface. In a flash, a white wooden box, its surface deeply inlaid with gold and silver runes, was revealed. It was precisely the "Demon Suppressing Lock" that Han Li kept in his collection. Under his careful sealing, this treasure had remained without any issues.
The moment the Demon Suppressing Lock appeared, the black Nascent Soul's body trembled, instantly transforming into a faint, fleeting phantom that vanished into the wooden box. The next moment, Han Li's phantom silently materialized above a vast grassland, resembling a green ocean.
"It's still here, as expected!" A blue light flashed in Han Li's eyes as he glanced around, muttering to himself.
"What, fellow Daoist, do you believe this old man's words from last time were false?" a voice spoke. "If you can indeed break the last few restrictions, this old man would be exceedingly pleased to have some company." No sooner had the words faded than the nearby void flickered, and an old man in a dark green robe appeared above the grassland, smiling as he addressed Han Li.
"If it weren't for the risk of permanently losing this divine sense avatar upon entering," Han Li replied calmly, completely unfazed by the old man's appearance, "I would indeed be very interested in seeing the true appearance inside this Demon Suppressing Lock."
"Even I have been trapped here for so many years," Che Qigong chuckled, getting straight to the point. "Naturally, a mere divine sense avatar of yours wouldn't be able to escape once it enters. So, fellow Daoist, have you decided on the cooperation I proposed last time?"
"I am certainly very tempted by that chaotic energy!" Han Li replied, shaking his head. "However, my reason for visiting you again this time has nothing to do with that. I have something else I need to inquire about."
"Apart from matters concerning the Demon Suppressing Lock, this old man has no desire to discuss anything else," the old man said, his expression darkening with disappointment upon hearing Han Li's words.
"Oh, is it possible that even matters concerning the Bloodlight Sacred Ancestor are something you'd rather not discuss, Senior?" Han Li asked, not angered in the slightest, but rather with a light chuckle.
"That scoundrel Bloodlight!" The old man froze, his face suddenly turning grim. "What do you mean by that? Have you encountered that villain?"
"I haven't seen his true form," Han Li stated calmly, "but an avatar of the Bloodlight Sacred Ancestor is currently pursuing me relentlessly. This avatar possesses significant divine abilities, and I admit I'm no match for it. Therefore, I wish to seek your guidance, Senior, on a countermeasure."
"So it's merely an avatar," Che Qigong remarked with a sneer, though not without a hint of surprise. "But why should this old man save you?"
"Of course, Senior is free to stand by," Han Li replied calmly, his eyes narrowing slightly, "but to preserve my life, I might have to consider using the Demon Suppressing Lock. The Bloodlight Sacred Ancestor personally dispatched an avatar, most likely for this very item. If this treasure were no longer in my possession, I believe this crisis could be easily resolved."
"You are threatening me!" Che Qigong erupted in anger. "Don't forget, you seized the Demon Suppressing Lock from three of Bloodlight's subordinates. Furthermore, do you truly believe that scoundrel would spare an outsider who has come into contact with this treasure? Even if you surrender the item, you will absolutely not be able to save your life!"
"Whether it succeeds or not, one must try to know," Han Li replied with a half-smile. "Of course, if Senior is willing to offer some guidance, I naturally wouldn't need to resort to such measures. Considering the enmity between you and the Bloodlight Sacred Ancestor, I imagine you would be even less inclined than I for this item to return to his hands."
Seeing Han Li's unwavering composure, Che Qigong's expression turned grim. However, his eyes flickered, and to his surprise, he offered no further rebuttal. Han Li stood in the void, arms crossed, showing no intention of rushing him.
After a long moment, the old man scrutinized Han Li deeply, then let out a cold snort before speaking again: "Hmph, how do you know this old man has a way to deal with Bloodlight's avatar? This old man and that scoundrel Bloodlight haven't met for many years. Even if I had some understanding of his methods before, I might not still be able to counter them now."
"Perhaps the Bloodlight Sacred Ancestor's divine abilities have changed," Han Li replied, his spirits lifting and a smile forming on his lips, "but ultimately, it's just an avatar. I'm not truly afraid of the avatar itself; I'm simply intimidated by the two supreme treasures in his possession and lack a countermeasure. As long as you can tell me how to deal with those two items, I am confident I still possess the strength to fight him."
"Two treasures? Could it be the Purple Flame Cauldron and the Rainbow Light Pagoda, those two incomplete Profound Heaven Treasures?" Che Qigong questioned, blinking.
"The Purple Flame Cauldron, the Rainbow Light Pagoda... Yes, it is indeed a small purple cauldron and a seven-colored pagoda. These two items are incomplete Profound Heaven Treasures!" Han Li's expression changed dramatically. Although he had harbored a vague suspicion, he was still startled to hear the old man confirm it.
"It appears those are indeed the two treasures," Che Qigong said with a peculiar expression. "Good, very good. This old man does have a way to deal with them. If you're lucky, you might even be able to unexpectedly seize one."
