Chapter 185: Yellow Sparrow "Sealing the Mountain"

The book is slated for release next week. To get myself in the right mindset before then, I can only upload one chapter daily until the launch. It's just for a few days, so please bear with me! I’ll also seize this opportunity to relax for a while, perhaps observe some flora and fauna – who knows, it might spark even better inspiration! Continuously writing for the past few months has truly left me quite tired.

The woman in white smirked with self-satisfaction as she saw her artifact successfully block Han Li's golden blade.

“I wondered why you’d overestimate yourself and jump out like that! So you thought you had a top-tier artifact, did you?” she sneered. Yet, her hands didn't hesitate for a moment. She flipped her hand, revealing a pink crystal ball, which she promptly sent out to hover above her head.

“Oh no, that crystal ball can corrode others’ artifacts! Junior Brother, stop her quickly! All my artifacts were destroyed by it,” the woman in yellow exclaimed, her face paling as she urgently warned him.

Han Li’s heart sank. Without thinking, he raised his hand and flung the silver hook he had just gripped. It transformed into a silver streak, flying towards the woman’s crystal ball.

The woman in white subtly curled her lip. Her fingers formed a strange hand seal, and she shot a red light towards the crystal ball hovering above her head.

As a result, the crystal ball, absorbing the magical incantation, immediately erupted with red light. It began to rotate on its own, emitting streams of pink liquid that formed a cloud of liquid centered around the sphere. Although it was only about a zhang (approximately 3.3 meters) in size, it covered the sky above the woman in a reddish glow.

Han Li hesitated. He didn't dare let the silver hook easily penetrate the red liquid. Instead, he manipulated it to dip down and directly rush towards the woman in white below.

At the same time, he quietly sent out another high-grade artifact, the Azure Rope. He made it move as strangely as a spiritual snake, stealthily creeping along the ground without a sound.

“Go!”

The woman in white suddenly pointed at the crystal ball. The liquid cloud immediately separated a small portion, which flew downwards, instantly enveloping the silver light passing beneath it and causing it to slow down, revealing its true form: the silver hook!

Seeing this, Han Li grew anxious. He simply hardened his heart, abandoning the silver hook. Instead, he had the Azure Rope, which had arrived shortly after, mysteriously coil tightly around the woman in white, temporarily encasing her and her protective shield like a giant zongzi (a type of Chinese sticky rice dumpling wrapped in leaves). Although the woman in white possessed many magical treasures, she was momentarily flustered and couldn't immediately break free.

At this moment, Han Li unhesitatingly pulled out the talisman treasure, the 'Golden Light Brick'!

Although he had no idea how long the Azure Rope could hold her, he could only risk it now. He hoped to use the talisman treasure to kill her before she broke free.

The woman in yellow, though ordinary in appearance, was quite clever. Even without artifacts or powerful talismans, she continuously used small spells like fireballs and ice cones, repeatedly striking the liquid mass trapping the silver hook and the small mirror. She hoped to free Han Li's artifacts and increase their chances of victory.

Unfortunately, these attacks were like scratching an itch through a boot – completely ineffective.

“Hmph, do you think a mere high-grade artifact can trap me? I’ll make you realize your foolishness right now!” Even while trapped within the Azure Rope, the woman in white spoke with extreme arrogance.

Han Li couldn't be bothered to respond. He held up the 'Golden Light Brick' talisman treasure, preparing himself for another massive drain of spiritual energy.

But just then, from the dense forest behind the woman in white, a horrifying burst of massive spiritual energy suddenly erupted.

Han Li froze. Before he could process what was happening, a dazzling, piercing yellow light shot out from the forest like lightning. It pierced straight through Han Li's Azure Rope, the woman's protective shield, and the woman in white herself. The woman in white didn't even have time to scream before she lay dead on the spot.

Han Li was first startled by this sight, but then he realized something. He was about to dash out, but it was already too late.

A blue figure, moving like a meteor chasing the moon, flashed a few times and appeared beside the woman's corpse. He immediately snatched the storage pouch from her waist, then burst into hearty laughter, a look of wild ecstasy on his face.

Seeing that he was too late, Han Li sighed in annoyance. But for the sake of his life, he forced himself to stay alert, observing the man's every move with a cold gaze.

The newcomer was a middle-aged man with a face full of scars. He had narrow eyes and a hooked nose, exuding an aura of malevolence that made anyone who saw him shiver and instinctively want to keep their distance. His cultivation had actually reached the peak of the thirteenth layer, making Han Li's heart grow heavier!

“Feng Yue, you’re Feng Yue, the Madman of Tianque Fortress!”

To his surprise, before the man in blue could speak, the woman in yellow cried out in terror. Her expression was as if she had encountered the most terrifying demon! She was far more terrified than when she was being pursued by the woman in white.

“Heh heh! I didn’t expect a little girl like you to recognize me,” the man in blue said. “Stand there obediently. After I see what I’ve gained, I’ll deal with you two!” He merely glanced sideways at the woman in yellow, then lowered his head to examine the storage pouch in his hand, right in front of them.

Han Li rubbed his nose. He calmly observed the man, his gaze flickering. Although he didn't know the newcomer's background, he was greatly displeased by his Senior Sister’s excessive alarm!

For Han Li, no matter who the newcomer was, he couldn't let his composure be disturbed. The stronger the enemy, the more he needed to stay calm!

He glanced at the freed artifacts, and with a wave of his hand, he recalled the golden blade and the silver hook.

The golden blade was fine, still as new as before, but the state of the silver hook startled Han Li! The once shining silver artifact had become rusty and pitted, like a damaged blade. It had lost most of its spiritual energy and was no longer fit for serious use!

Only then did Han Li understand what the woman in yellow meant by "destroying artifacts." The pink liquid emitted by that crystal ball was truly malicious! Any artifact that came into contact with it would likely have to retreat three feet!

After his reflection, he was again drawn by the dazzling yellow light in front of the man in blue.

It was a strangely shaped dagger with a handle. The handle was a full foot long, but the blade was only three or four inches. It was crystal clear throughout, emitting a dazzling yellow glow.

It was this peculiar-looking object that had instantly killed the woman in white.

Han Li stared intently at the object. His expression gradually darkened, a grim cloud settling over his face, and his lips were tightly pressed together. But the words “talisman treasure” kept flashing in his mind.

From the dagger's power, its almost luminous appearance, and the astonishing burst of spiritual energy, everything confirmed that this object was indeed a talisman treasure with the power of a magical artifact, just like his 'Golden Light Brick'.

This discovery left a bitter taste in Han Li's mouth.

He looked up at the murky yellow sky. Though he couldn't tell the exact time, it was definitely already morning of the second day. He wondered if he had used up all his luck on the first day, which was why he was having such terrible luck so early on the second day!

First, he encountered a Senior Sister from his sect who insisted on using him as a shield, forcing him to confront the Treasure-Wielding Woman of the Hidden Moon Sect. Her top-tier artifact was incredibly powerful, almost overwhelming him!

Now came this 'Madman' Feng Yue, whose spiritual energy far surpassed his own, and who also possessed a talisman treasure. This made him even more formidable than the Treasure-Wielding Woman! How was he going to escape this?

He didn't believe this 'Madman' would let the two of them go just because he was in a good mood. It seemed they could only fight with all their might!

As Han Li was pondering, Feng Yue, across from him, finally finished examining the storage pouch. He raised his head, a hint of joy on his face; it seemed he had gained quite a lot!

He let out a sinister chuckle. Just as he was about to say something to Han Li and the other woman, he caught sight of the small mirror and crystal ball lying on the ground. A greedy glint flashed in his eyes, and he waved his hand, intending to pull both artifacts towards him.

Unfortunately, before the two artifacts could fly up, a small fireball flew from a distance, interrupting his attempt to retrieve them. This forced him to take a step back, and he then waved his hand, releasing a similar fireball to destroy it. This made Feng Yue furious, and a fierce, malevolent expression appeared on his face!

This fireball was precisely what Han Li had released. Having witnessed the power of the small mirror and the crystal ball, he wouldn't let them fall into his opponent's hands. The woman in yellow, however, was startled by Han Li’s action, almost crying out!

Feng Yue slowly looked towards Han Li. The scars on his face began to writhe, like living earthworms, sending shivers down one's spine. After savagely scrutinizing Han Li for a moment, he suddenly spoke:

“How do you wish to die? Will I flay you alive piece by piece, or roast your flesh inch by inch with a great fire?”

Upon hearing this, the woman in yellow shivered, her face turning incredibly pale. She could no longer suppress the fear in her heart and couldn't help but secretly glance left and right, pondering other ideas.

“I want you to die!” Han Li replied with a very natural and open smile.
