Chapter 1719: Taiyi Azure Light

It was unclear if it was a coincidence, or if the golden-horned youth had indeed discovered something.

No sooner had the woman spoken than the youth, who had been unmoving in the air, suddenly looked up. He then raised a hand, and a dark round alms bowl flew out, hovering and circling in mid-air.

The Horn-Yellow youth then muttered an incantation, flicking his fingers continuously towards the alms bowl.

Streaks of magic seals, each a different color, shot forth and vanished into the alms bowl in a flash.

After the alms bowl emitted a long hum, its surface erupted with black light and rapidly expanded.

In the blink of an eye, it grew to over ten zhang in size, hovering in mid-air like a house.

Then, the lid flew open, and countless ink-black dark energies instantly surged from within the alms bowl, spreading wildly in all directions.

A black shroud of night was thus unfurled, concealing most of the sky.

The crystal before Han Li and Liu Shui’er instantly became pitch black; they could no longer see anything.

Both their expressions changed, but before either could speak, the crystal flashed with black light, its surface instantly returning to its original state, and the scene reappeared.

Everything in the image seemed unusually similar to before; even the few white clouds in the distance looked exactly the same. However, the Horn-Yellow clansmen and the golden-horned youth who had been hovering in the air were nowhere to be seen.

Liu Shui’er's eyes flashed, and she pointed a slender finger at the crystal.

With a flash of light, the scene on the crystal's surface changed again, instantly revealing the scene below.

As a result, in the swirling yellow sand where the view reappeared, there was still no trace of the Horn-Yellow clansmen.

"It seems they've cast an illusion to conceal all their actions," Liu Shui’er sighed softly. "Unless we forcefully manipulate the Shadow Crystal to project into the restriction, we can't do anything. But if we do that, our whereabouts will definitely be exposed, which isn't worth the trouble."

She then swept her sleeve across the crystal, which flashed. Wisps of milky white mist appeared on its surface, and the scene immediately dispersed and vanished like an illusion. It ultimately transformed into a seemingly ordinary milky white crystal, which she put away into her sleeve.

"Never mind," Han Li murmured thoughtfully. "Since these Horn-Yellow people are so cautious, there's no need for us to disturb them. But judging by this, their scheme isn't small. I wonder if it will affect our plans in any way?"

"A place a few li away is reachable in moments for us," Liu Shui’er asked slowly, a chill in her heart. "We really can't be unprepared. Brother Han, do you have any good ideas?"

"They have many people, and their abilities are no weaker than ours," Han Li said after a brief thought. "Of course, there's no perfect solution. We can only set up several layers of magic formations when the time comes to conceal the fluctuations we create when breaking the restriction. Also, although the Horn-Yellow people have used an illusion to conceal their movements, we can also make some arrangements near the illusion formation, sending out some puppets or spirit beasts to monitor them secretly. If they truly make any significant moves, we can be prepared."

"That's probably the best we can do for now," Liu Shui’er mused for a moment, then reluctantly agreed.

"Since Fairy doesn't object, we might as well start setting up immediately," Han Li said without hesitation. "This isn't a place to linger; let's head to the restriction site as soon as possible."

"Of course," Liu Shui’er nodded solemnly, adding with some concern. "I just wonder when Fellow Daoist Shi can arrive here. I hope nothing unexpected happens on the way."

"Since the two of us were able to arrive so smoothly, Brother Shi should be fine, given his divine abilities," Han Li chuckled, seemingly full of confidence in Shi Kun. "Besides, it's only just been two months; if Fellow Daoist Shi took a longer route, being a few days late would be normal."

"I hope so," the cloaked woman replied. Upon hearing Han Li's words, she naturally didn't voice any further concerns.

Han Li smiled, then his sleeve moved.

Immediately, a white shadow flew out from within. After circling once, it transformed into a white-robed woman amidst a white, cold light, standing before them with an expressionless face.

It was precisely the psychic puppet, "Doll."

"Go! Monitor those Horn-Yellow people, but don't engage them," Han Li instructed calmly. "Just keep an eye on them from a distance."

Upon hearing this, "Doll's" eyes flashed, and she gave a slight bow, about to ascend into the air. But Han Li had a thought and called out to her again.

"Wait, take this treasure and this talisman with you! Your priority is to ensure you are not discovered," Han Li said. With a flip of his hand, a black veil and a talisman suddenly appeared in a flash of light.

The talisman, glowing with a piercing purple light, was precisely the Grand Unity Purifying Talisman.

"Doll's" face remained expressionless, but she obediently grabbed with one hand, levitating the black veil and talisman into her grasp. Then, a white light flashed on her body, and she transformed into a white shadow, soaring away.

"Brother Han, you truly cherish this puppet," Liu Shui’er said with a sweet smile upon seeing this scene. "But it's no wonder. Such a high-grade psychic puppet is something even I greatly envy."

"Heh heh. Fairy, you jest," Han Li replied with a slight, noncommittal smile. "With your wealth, acquiring a top-grade psychic puppet certainly wouldn't be difficult. But frankly, such puppets are somewhat flashy but impractical; they are generally less useful than a spirit beast of the same rank. This one of mine was also a gift from someone else."

"That's true," Liu Shui’er said. "Just the consumption of top-grade spirit stones to activate such a puppet in combat is enough to cause a huge headache. Since Brother Han has sent out a psychic puppet, I'll also release a spirit beast to cooperate with it and monitor these Horn-Yellow people." Seeing that Han Li didn't want to elaborate on the psychic puppet, Liu Shui’er tactfully changed the subject.

With that, the woman pressed a hand to her waist. Suddenly, a five-colored rainbow light flashed out, vanishing into the void like lightning.

Even with Han Li's Spirit Eyes, he could only vaguely see for a split second that it seemed to be a small winged ferret-like beast, emitting five-colored light.

Han Li was startled by the small beast's bizarre escape speed and couldn't help but glance meaningfully at the cloaked woman.

But Liu Shui’er suddenly stood up and said:

"Let's go. We'll wait for Fellow Daoist Shi near the restriction site."

Han Li naturally had no objections.

So, spiritual light enveloped both their bodies, and they transformed into two faint streaks of light, soaring into the air and rapidly fleeing in the direction away from the Horn-Yellow people.

Along the way, the scenery below remained consistent. Everywhere they looked was swirling yellow sand.

Ruined walls and desolate structures appeared faintly through the sand.

When Han Li had arrived at this place several days earlier, he had already roughly surveyed this area of ruins.

This area was vast, spanning two to three million li.

Many parts of it clearly still had restrictions, appearing extremely dangerous.

Fortunately, Han Li had received warnings from Cai Liuying and others in advance and had steered clear of these areas. Otherwise, ancient mechanisms like the Thunder Roc Puppet would certainly not have been the only ones remaining in this region.

As for the restricted ruins that Cai Liuying and the others had repeatedly mentioned, it was precisely the most dangerous location among them.

After the two had carefully flown for tens of thousands of kilometers, they finally halted their escape light.

Han Li narrowed his eyes and looked forward.

He saw below in the distance a mass of white light mist, a hundred zhang in diameter, slowly rotating amidst the sandstorm, remaining perfectly still despite the howling winds.

And as soon as the sand touched this mist, it instantly vanished, as if swallowed without a trace.

What was even more horrifying was that around the light mist, piles of beast bones covered the ground. Most of them were submerged in the yellow sand, but some exposed bones were charred black and yellow, having existed for an unknown number of years. Others were as white as new, clearly the skeletons of recently deceased exotic beasts.

At this moment, Liu Shui’er held a palm-sized, peculiar formation disk, gazing at it carefully.

"Indeed, this is it. This is the restriction site that my master and Senior Duan mentioned," Liu Shui’er murmured to herself after a long moment, letting out a long breath.

"It certainly looks perilous!" Han Li said calmly, his gaze sweeping over the beast bones. "However, since the two seniors went to such great lengths to gather the three of us here, they must be somewhat confident in breaking this restriction."

"I hope so," Liu Shui’er said. "According to my master, this restriction was formed from the transformation of the 'Grand Unity Pure Light,' which was on par with the Primordial Magnetic Divine Light in ancient times. To break it, one must use the Primordial Magnetic Divine Light, which counteracts it. I suppose gathering the three of us who possess a Primordial Magnetic Physique should be enough to break this restriction." Liu Shui’er's understanding of the restriction before them was clearly much greater than Han Li's, as she spoke these words.

"Grand Unity Pure Light!" Han Li, who had initially been composed, couldn't help but let out a low cry, a look of surprise and delight flashing across his face before quickly disappearing.

"Oh? Brother Han, are you also interested in this peculiar light?" Liu Shui’er asked, her eyes flashing, as if she had noticed Han Li's unusual reaction.

"I myself possess a Primordial Magnetic treasure, so naturally, I have some understanding of the several peculiar lights that are on par with it," Han Li said softly, his expression immediately returning to normal. "I've heard that this Grand Unity Pure Light is known as 'Void Blade.' It's exceptionally sharp; once unleashed, its power is almost comparable to the perfected form of invisible sword qi, capable of killing opponents invisibly. I wonder if it's truly that miraculous."

"It seems Brother Han truly knows a lot about this Grand Unity Pure Light," Liu Shui’er explained. "According to my master, while this light's power is considerable, it's not as terrifying as rumored. However, this restriction formed by this peculiar light is indeed indestructible and impossible to guard against. Otherwise, my master would have long ago risked great danger to forcefully break this restriction and retrieve the treasure. Furthermore, this Grand Unity Pure Light cannot be cultivated later in life; it can only form naturally through the power of creation between heaven and earth. In our Spirit Realm, this peculiar light is even rarer than the Primordial Magnetic Divine Light. We occasionally hear of those who cultivate the Primordial Magnetic Divine Light, but as for those who cultivate the Grand Unity Pure Light, we haven't heard of any since ancient times."

"So, then," Han Li said, his eye twitching suddenly as he couldn't help but ask, "there must be a supreme treasure in the restriction below that can wield the Grand Unity Pure Light, or some rare item containing this light!"
