Chapter 1669: Getting the Mirror

The moment the Azure Bee's primordial spirit was extinguished, hundreds of feet away, the demonic bees buzzing in the mist suddenly flashed with light on their bodies.

With a series of popping sounds, they exploded one by one.

From the destruction of the giant azure bee's body to the dispersal of its two demonic souls, it all occurred in less than an instant.

Han Li didn't even glance at the falling demonic eagle's corpse; his gaze shifted, looking far away at the last high-tier demonic beast.

His gaze was piercingly cold.

The Twin-Horned Demon had naturally witnessed everything, and under immense shock, its face turned faintly pale.

Although the giant bee and demonic eagle were not as powerful as it, the difference in cultivation wasn't insurmountable. Yet, in just a single encounter, both were easily killed by the opponent, their primordial spirits unable to escape.

This sent a chill down its entire body.

Even if the opponent's success was partly due to unexpected sneak attacks, it knew that in the same circumstances, it would never be able to kill two companions so cleanly and swiftly.

However, there was also something strange to the demon.

What exactly was the golden shadow that appeared earlier to lure them, and the one that appeared later, which was then killed by a single hammer blow?

They had clearly sensed a considerable spiritual pressure from it; otherwise, they wouldn't have fallen for the trap so easily.

In any case, if it were to fight alone, it would most likely perish. It would be better to wait for reinforcements and then find another way to kill the opponent.

If all else failed, it might as well risk violating the agreement between the mountain range and the outside world by ambushing this person at the entrance and killing him there.

Surely, those top-tier beings from the outside world wouldn't bother to come to the mountain range and argue with the Saint-tier lords just for one mere individual.

The Twin-Horned Demon's cunning was truly impressive; after recovering from its profound shock, it immediately devised a countermeasure.

Thus, the moment Han Li looked over, it suddenly grabbed into the empty air with both hands.

With two "swoosh" sounds, the two iron hammers swiftly shrunk to their normal size and flew back into its hands.

Then, it opened its mouth and once again spat out the triangular bronze mirror from before. With one hand, it quickly pointed at the treasure.

A buzzing sound erupted from the bronze mirror's surface, emitting a ball of cold light that enveloped the area below.

A bizarre scene unfolded.

As soon as the cold light descended, the Twin-Horned Demon's tall figure vanished into thin air from its original spot.

Then, the bronze mirror subtly trembled, suddenly transforming into an afterimage, and instantly flashed into the void, disappearing without a trace.

This scene made Han Li, from afar, pause in surprise; it was somewhat unexpected.

But his face immediately darkened; a blue glow flashed in his pupils, revealing a wondrous, swirling sight. Looking into his eyes, it was as if one's very soul would be drawn in.

Seemingly having perceived something, Han Li formed a hand seal with one hand and quickly pointed two fingers at his brows.

A ball of black mist appeared, and after condensing, it transformed into an ink-black eye.

It was precisely the Eye of Destruction.

As soon as the demonic eye formed, its eyeball immediately stirred, and a black light swirled within it, with faint runes churning and emerging erratically.

With a soft sound, a finger-thick beam of black light shot out from the Eye of Destruction and vanished into the void in a flash, leaving no trace.

A moment later, near a certain point in the void over a hundred feet away, a deafening roar suddenly erupted. Then, a hazy black halo appeared, and violent spatial fluctuations spread out.

With a muffled thud, an exceedingly dim ball of cold light shot out from the halo, flying over ten feet away, before stumbling to a halt.

As the light receded, the Twin-Horned Demon appeared, a mix of shock and fury on its face.

Almost simultaneously, a thunderclap suddenly rang out above the demon. A blue-white electric arc flashed forth, with a human figure faintly emerging within it.

"Not good!"

The Twin-Horned Demon had not yet stabilized itself, but after its gaze swept to the situation above its head, its heart sank, and its hands almost subconsciously trembled.

The two large hammers in its hands immediately whistled as they furiously smashed towards the figure above. At the same time, a crystal light flashed on its chest, and a blue banner flew out, instantly transforming into a shimmering blue light barrier that enveloped its body.

Meanwhile, the Twin-Horned Demon itself flashed with black light, and its body shot backward like a crossbow bolt, intending to first widen the distance from Han Li.

But how could Han Li allow this demon to have its way? The blue-white lightning in the air exploded with a rumble, its color changing to brilliant silver arcs of light.

Then its body rapidly expanded, and with a roll, it transformed into a giant azure roc several feet in size. It spread its wings, bringing with it thick silver arcs, and fiercely swooped down.

Its speed was so great that almost the instant the silver light flashed, its giant claw seized the pair of black hammers flying towards it.

Thunder roared!

The great hammers were instantly enveloped by the giant claw as if made of paper, then let out a wail, and exploded amidst numerous darting silver lightning snakes.

And the next moment, the giant claw showed no delay, immediately grabbing onto the blue light barrier around the Twin-Horned Demon.

Somewhat unexpectedly, this seemingly ordinary blue barrier flashed with light, instantly transforming into a crystal-like shield.

Neither the electric arcs nor the immense force from the giant claw had any effect upon contact, astonishingly sinking into it as if a clay ox had entered the sea.

Seeing this, the Twin-Horned Demon within the shield let out a great sigh of relief and couldn't help but reveal a slight smile.

But before it could make any further move, a piercing screech suddenly erupted from outside the shield, and the Azure Roc's hooked beak surprisingly transformed into streaks of azure light, pecking down in a flash.

Three "boom" sounds erupted from the same spot on the shield, followed by a crisp crack. The crystal shield actually cracked inch by inch from the very point it was pecked, eventually dispersing into tiny blue specks and vanishing.

"Ah!"

The Twin-Horned Demon inside was greatly startled, and both of its arms simultaneously swung upwards.

A loud tearing sound filled the air as countless black claw shadows instantly appeared, forming a densely interwoven net of claws above its head.

But the Azure Roc's hooked beak moved again.

Another streak of azure light flashed down, instantly sinking into the claw shadows.

Instantly, brilliant silver electric light erupted, the claw net was easily torn open, and the azure light flashed past, disappearing like an illusion.

The Twin-Horned Demonic Beast's body trembled violently, its two arms suddenly stopped moving, and it lowered its head to glance at its own body.

At its chest, a bowl-sized bloody hole was apparent, and silver light flickered within it.

An expression of unbelievable terror immediately appeared on the demon's face, but before it could even let out a scream, a thunderous roar erupted from the bloody hole in its chest, and numerous silver arcs shot out, then exploded.

The silver electric light instantly completely engulfed the Twin-Horned Demon.

The thunder roared for quite some time before finally stopping. The Twin-Horned Demon's physical body, along with its primordial spirit, had long since turned to dust in the fiercely violent lightning, vanishing from the world without a trace.

Only that strange triangular bronze mirror was left behind in its place!

The Azure Roc's body suddenly shrunk, and amidst spiritual light, it transformed back into human form.

After Han Li's gaze swept over the bronze mirror, he raised a hand and beckoned. Instantly, a force of attraction appeared out of nowhere, drawing this ownerless treasure into his hand. He lowered his head and examined it briefly.

But in his haste, he didn't discern anything significant from it.

However, he was quite interested in this item.

This mirror could connect the magical power of multiple individuals and also allow enemies to escape into the void. Clearly, it was by no means an ordinary treasure, and he didn't know how this demon had obtained it.

With a wave of his hand, the mirror suddenly emitted a yellow light and vanished.

He mused that eliminating the opponent quickly had not been too costly.

Han Li pondered this, having no intention of lingering. His escape light flared, once again transforming into a streak of azure light, and he shot into the depths of the misty sea.

A good while later, a hazy black demonic wind howled from the horizon.

But after circling for a while in front of the misty sea, it suddenly converged and vanished into thin air. From the wind, five strangely shaped demonic beasts emerged.

"The place where those three last disappeared is indeed here," said one of the smaller beasts, which seemed to be made of glazed glass, sweeping its gaze over the misty sea.

The other four beasts also showed caution in their eyes.

"With the combined strength of Lord Wuuqi and the other two, how could they have lost contact so suddenly in such a short time? Did they encounter other trouble along the way?" the python-headed demonic beast asked in a low voice.

"That's not very clear," the small beast said, shaking its head, then ordered in a tone of disbelief, "But in any case, everyone be alert. We must be extra careful."

"Yes!"

The other demonic beasts lowered their heads and respectfully replied.

Then, the five demonic beasts' demonic wind flared up again, and they plunged into the misty sea.

Half a quarter-hour later, at the spot where Han Li had killed the Twin-Horned Demon, these demonic beasts reappeared one after another, looking around at everything nearby with surprised and doubtful gazes.

Among them, one strange beast that resembled a duck but had a single white horn on its head suddenly transformed into a streak of white light and shot downwards, disappearing in a flash.

This action naturally immediately caught the attention of the other demonic beasts, and they exchanged bewildered glances.

But in just a moment, as the demonic energy below churned, the duck-like demonic beast flew out from it.

On its pair of webbed claws, there were two fragmented pieces of a bull's horn, each only fist-sized.

"These are the spiritual horns from Lord Wuuqi's head. How could they have fallen down here? Could it be that he has truly perished?" another tiger-shaped demonic beast murmured with a greatly solemn expression.

"It seems those three have truly perished. The one pursuing them actually possesses such divine abilities?" The small beast's eyes narrowed as it muttered softly to itself.

"What should we do now? That outsider has long since disappeared without a trace. We can't track him anymore," the python-headed demonic beast couldn't help but ask, its expression uncertain.

"Hmph. Even if we could locate this person, I wouldn't pursue him anymore. Since the opponent could kill all three of Wuuqi, if we were to go, we would likely not be their match either. Let's go back the way we came!" the small beast said without hesitation, letting out a cold snort.

"But if that's the case, it won't be easy to explain when we go back. Our master will surely be furious," one beast said slowly, clearly with great reservations.
