Chapter 1629: Spirit Realm Hundred Clans Spirit-devouring Firebird and Glazed Heavenly Fire

"It's worth a look. Who knows what we might find?" Han Li unexpectedly agreed without much enthusiasm.

Seeing that Han Li did not refuse the suggestion, Bai Bi, though somewhat unwilling, did not voice any opposition.

So, the three changed direction and flew straight towards the source of the aura.

After flying for over ten miles, a peculiar sight indeed appeared ahead: an oasis about a li (approximately 0.5 kilometers) in size.

In a flash, the three flew above it.

The so-called oasis, in fact, appeared black and yellow. Tall trees were scarce, mostly consisting of low bushes and unknown weeds.

At the center of the oasis was a pool more than ten zhang (approximately 30 meters) in size, filled with churning crimson blood. Beside the pool, over a dozen corpses of Black Abyss beasts, varying in size, lay sprawled on the ground, impaled by stone spikes.

Blood streamed from these corpses, flowing into the blood pool.

The entire oasis emitted an overwhelming stench, enough to make one nauseous.

"How did these beasts appear in the desert? They should be in the dense forest we saw earlier," Lei Lan remarked, looking around from above with some surprise.

"They haven't been dead long, or their blood would have clotted," Bai Bi observed after a careful examination, making his own judgment.

After glancing around, Han Li suddenly moved, transforming into a streak of green light that circled the entire oasis.

A moment later, he returned to his original spot, his eyes narrowed as he stared at the blood pool.

"What is it, Brother Han? Did you find something?" Lei Lan asked curiously.

"Yes, I did find something," Han Li replied as if to himself, then suddenly flicked his sleeve towards the ground.

A golden light shot out, instantly transforming into seven or eight sword beams that plunged into the ground near the pool.

Lei Lan and Bai Bi were both startled. Before they could understand what was happening, several screams suddenly erupted from where the sword beams had pierced, followed by gurgling black blood. The nearby ground then exploded, and several ape-like demonic creatures sprang out from underground.

Each was several feet tall, with four ears on its head, holding crude stone spears whose tips emitted a faint white glow.

"Huh, Resentful Ape Beasts! This is bad, this oasis is an illusion created by a Giant Spirit Flower!" As soon as he recognized the demonic apes, Bai Bi suddenly remembered something and cried out.

"Giant Spirit Flower!" Han Li's eyes flashed, while Lei Lan gasped softly.

Just then, the ground beneath the three of them rumbled with a loud roar, then began to shake violently.

At the same time, the blood in the oasis pool churned outwards, and a red shadow shot forth.

In a flash, it appeared before Han Li, striking fiercely towards his face.

Lei Lan and Bai Bi were startled; the red shadow was incredibly fast. Even if they wanted to help, it seemed they wouldn't be able to react in time.

However, upon seeing this, Han Li simply let out a cold snort, and one of his arms blurred slightly.

With a 'bang'!

A hand, as white as jade, eerily appeared before him. With a lightning-fast backhand grab, it firmly seized the red shadow.

Only then did the two Holy Sons beside him get a clear view. It was a blood-red, arm-thick, tongue-like object, with a fist-sized fleshy bulb at its tip, covered in inch-long black thorns, constantly writhing.

However, Han Li's hand seemed not to be made of flesh and blood; his crystalline fingers directly gripped the fleshy bulb, treating the black thorns as if they were nothing, unable to harm his skin in the slightest.

Just then, five white skeletal heads suddenly appeared on the surface of Han Li's five fingers. At the same time, he opened his mouth, and a torrent of five-colored flames burst forth, sweeping down along the long tongue.

In mere moments, the entire tongue transformed into a slender five-colored ice bar.

Without hesitation, Han Li struck the tip of the ice bar with a backhand.

A ripple of green light flashed, followed by a crisp 'shatter' sound, like breaking porcelain. The ice bar instantly shattered into countless pieces, turning into a shimmering light that vanished without a trace.

A monstrous roar, seemingly of extreme pain, emanated from underground. The blood-colored light in the pool then spun, and in an instant, not a single drop of blood remained. Immediately, with a 'boom,' the entire oasis completely shattered, and a colossal entity emerged from the debris.

Enormous at the top and remarkably slender at the bottom, it was a colossal demonic flower, similar in size to the original oasis.

The petals of this demonic flower were a pale silver, like the desert, but its core was blood-red, transformed from the blood pool. The long tongue that had just attacked Han Li was merely one of its many thick stamens.

Furthermore, standing on the demonic flower's incredibly large petals were dozens of the so-called "Resentful Ape Beasts." They bared their fangs at the air, simultaneously making throwing motions with their stone spears. Subsequently, dozens of foot-long stone cones materialized and shot directly towards Han Li and the other two.

"So this is the Giant Spirit Flower. It's quite interesting. This flower should be a mid-level demonic creature, shouldn't it? Aren't mid-level or higher demonic creatures rare on the first layer?" Han Li remarked, laughing rather than showing surprise at the sight.

This time, he didn't need to act. Lei Lan and Bai Bi, standing by, raised their hands simultaneously, unleashing an intertwining array of silver arcs and golden threads that shattered the incoming stone cones.

"Brother Han! They are rare, but that doesn't mean they won't appear. Moreover, the timing of our trial is truly unfortunate; it's just before the outbreak of the Underworld Demon Tide. It's not strange for some mid-level demonic creatures to appear early on this layer," Lei Lan explained, frowning slightly.

Although they were facing a mid-level demonic creature this time, the trouble it posed was far less than that of the Yin Spider Bees they had encountered earlier. Therefore, after her initial surprise, the goddess's expression returned to normal.

"Is that so! I heard that this flower's nectar is an excellent material for alchemy. Since we've encountered it, let's collect some," Han Li said with an ambiguous smile, then suddenly flicked his ten fingers downwards.

With several 'thwips,' ten small golden swords shot out from his fingertips, instantly transforming into ten golden rainbows that streaked downwards.

The center of the giant flower let out a strange roar, and then countless dense red shadows shot forth, attempting to strike down the flying swords.

If this fierce attack had been directed at ordinary members of the Flying Spirit Race, it would have caused them great trouble. However, Han Li merely grimaced slightly, then pointed a single hand at the flying swords.

Instantly, the ten flying swords blazed with golden light. The moment they made contact, they submerged all the red shadows in their sword aura, shredding them to pieces.

Then, with another flash of golden light, dozens of identical sword beams suddenly materialized, raining down overwhelmingly.

Upon seeing this, the Resentful Ape Beasts, seemingly aware of their impending doom, let out sharp cries and threw their stone spears. These also transformed into dozens of white lights that met the sword beams.

Although these stone spears had undergone crude refinement by the demonic creatures, how could they withstand the sharp sword energy of the Green Bamboo Bee Cloud Swords? They immediately burst into clouds of stone powder amidst the chilling light.

Next, a dozen golden rainbows simply circled through the group of Resentful Ape Beasts, causing the creatures to split in two and fall to the ground.

At the same time, the remaining sword beams mercilessly hacked at the entire demonic flower, instantly slicing it into countless pieces that heavily crashed to the ground, spilling large amounts of green liquid everywhere.

This Giant Spirit Flower, along with its companion Resentful Ape Beasts, was utterly obliterated by Han Li's flying swords in a single encounter.

Lei Lan and Bai Bi had no chance to intervene. The two exchanged a wry smile.

"Alright, let's go down and collect some nectar, then we'll be on our way," Han Li said calmly, beckoning with one hand and retracting all the sword light into his sleeve.

He then swayed and landed on the nearby ground. With a turn of his hand, a small emerald-green bottle appeared in his palm. He aimed it at the fragmented cores of the flowers.

Immediately, a stream of green mist sprayed out, sweeping over the flower cores and instantly drawing out clumps of pink liquid nectar. It then flew back and poured into the small bottle.

Han Li shook the small bottle, and a peculiar fragrance of nectar wafted into the air. With a slight smile, a flash of green light appeared, and the bottle vanished.

Lei Lan and Bai Bi also descended. They likewise took out their containers and collected the remaining nectar for themselves.

"Let's go," Han Li said indifferently. He then unfurled his wings and ascended into the air once more.

Bai Bi silently transformed into a golden light and followed closely. Lei Lan, with a smile, was about to ascend into the air when her gaze swept over the remnants of the Giant Spirit Flower on the ground. A sudden thought struck her, and as if by an unearthly impulse, she casually flicked her hand.

After a clap of thunder, a silver arc flashed out, striking a nearby branch that had remained connected to the demonic flower's remains. Instantly, the branch turned to ash.

Only then did Lei Lan clap her hands together, unfurl her wings, and fly off, chasing after Han Li and the other person ahead.

In the blink of an eye, the figures of Han Li and the other two vanished into the distant horizon. No sound remained in the area.

A full hour later, the nearby ground suddenly shook, then split open with a tremendous roar. Several black tendrils, like colossal pillars reaching for the sky, suddenly emerged from underground. Then, a dark black demonic flower, several times the size of the original Giant Spirit Flower, eerily surfaced from below.

This flower resembled a massive mountain. Its tentacles repeatedly slapped the ground, settling it firmly. Just then, a soft gasp of surprise emanated from the flower.

"Who dares to touch the spirit flower kept here for sacrifice? Could it be Six-Legs and its kind?!" A woman's voice burst forth in anger.

Following the voice, one looked up to see a silver wooden chair prominently situated in the center of the giant black flower. Seated upon it was a slender figure with an indistinct face, holding an emerald-green leather whip.

"Master, there's no need to be angry. The blood offerings here were only interrupted a short while ago, so those people shouldn't have left long ago. Let your humble servant investigate first," a fuzzy, short figure suddenly appeared in a flash of yellow light before the silver chair, kneeling before the woman seated on it, seemingly with extreme reverence.

"Hmm, I still need to continue presiding over the sacrifice, so I'll leave this matter to you. No matter who they are, if they dare to ruin my affairs, don't let a single one escape," the woman said coldly, suddenly cracking her whip in the air.

After a sharp screech, a white streak flashed and vanished, causing ripples in the surrounding space. Then, countless black mists surged out from the white streak, as if truly tearing open the space itself.
