Volume Seven: Roaming the Human Realm — Volume Nine: Myriad Races of the Spirit Realm
As soon as Han Li finished speaking, the small beast instantly flickered, transforming into a dozen identical phantoms that charged towards the crowd. Wherever its claws flashed, the silver armor worn by the soldiers and their weapons alike were torn to shreds as if made of paper. The leopard-scaled beast's claws seemed to be as sharp as divine weapons.
Meanwhile, the black monkey's body shimmered with black light, and its size rapidly expanded dozens of times, transforming into a twenty-zhang tall black giant ape. The ape thumped its chest with both hands and snorted from its large nostrils. Immediately, a stream of golden-yellow light surged upwards. The two-headed giant eagles, once struck by this light, plummeted straight down from the sky as if drunk.
Under the giant ape's wild, wheel-like movements, it flattened the two-headed eagles into paste, one by one, as if swatting flies.
On Han Li's side, he propelled his flying sword to slash again. Wherever the green light flashed, soldiers and giant eagles were cut in half, utterly unstoppable.
In the blink of an eye, hundreds of Jiaochi soldiers and two-headed eagles were nearly wiped out by Han Li and the two spirit beasts.
The remaining less than a hundred soldiers finally showed signs of fear. Someone took the lead, and they suddenly scattered, fleeing towards the two battleships high in the sky.
Han Li, without hesitation, activated his escape light, turning into a green rainbow and giving chase.
As sword light continuously flashed, corpses littered the ground.
Suddenly, a roar sounded from above.
Han Li's heart tightened, and he quickly looked up.
He saw the crystal pillars beneath the two silver battleships glow brightly, and over a hundred beams of light shot downwards. They completely disregarded the other nearby Jiaochi soldiers.
Han Li snorted coldly, his wings fluttered, and after a clap of thunder, he mysteriously vanished from his spot. Even though the light beams covered a vast area, they all missed their target. The next moment, Han Li reappeared above one of the silver battleships. Looking at the "silver island" below, Han Li expressionlessly grasped with one hand. A pitch-black hand emerged from his sleeve, lightly reaching into the void below. With a flash of grey light, a small black mountain spewed out from his palm, spinning.
Subsequently, the small mountain rapidly expanded, becoming over a thousand zhang tall, and smashed fiercely towards the battleship below.
The Magnetic Divine Mountain became slightly larger than the battleship. As this colossal object descended, it cast a dark shadow, immediately enveloping the battleship beneath it.
The Jiaochi people remaining inside the battleship were instantly terrified. Even if they wanted to maneuver the battleship to evade, it was too late! Only a colossal roar was heard.
The bottom of the colossal mountain collided with the battleship. At the same time, with a tremor, the mountain was slightly bounced back by an immense force.
Beneath the impact, more than half of the battleship's surface was dented. It was violently smashed down from the sky and heavily crashed onto the ground. A good portion of its body was deeply embedded in the earth and rocks, seemingly unable to fly again for a while. Witnessing this, a hint of surprise flashed in Han Li's eyes.
This battleship hadn't exploded from a single blow of the Magnetic Divine Mountain, indicating that its materials were exceptionally tough, likely comparable to high-grade magic treasure materials.
The sheer amount of materials required for such a large battleship was unimaginable. Remembering the even larger "giant island" he had seen in Greenlight City that day, Han Li couldn't help but gasp. He finally had some concept of the Jiaochi Tribe's wealth. This tribe truly deserved its reputation as one of the top super-tribes in the Spirit Realm.
Although inwardly startled, Han Li had no intention of stopping. Instead, he continuously pointed his single hand at the black mountain in the sky. Instantly, the Magnetic Divine Mountain hummed, then whistled as it smashed down again. In an instant, deafening roars continuously echoed.
The silver battleship, under the mountain's relentless assault, was flattened, forcibly turned into a heap of scrap metal. Even if the Jiaochi operators inside hadn't died instantly, they certainly weren't having a pleasant time.
But surprisingly, silver light shimmered on the battleship's surface, and it slowly began to bulge again, seemingly attempting to restore itself.
Seeing that a few furious blows hadn't completely destroyed the vessel, Han Li's brows twitched. He abruptly grabbed at the void. A loud "whoosh" sound erupted! Dozens of green threads shot out from the void in a flash, all converging into Han Li's palm.
The dazzling green light transformed into a giant sword about ten feet long, but its surface glowed with flowing green light, appearing ethereal.
Without a word, Han Li gripped the hilt and moved to strike the immobile battleship below. But just then, Han Li suddenly heard the long-haired foreigner's cry of alarm, "Senior, be careful!" After a brief pause, he suddenly felt a powerful spiritual energy erupt beside him. Without thinking, Han Li sharply swung his giant sword horizontally, slashing at the spiritual energy in the void. Immediately, a ten-zhang long green sword qi shot out, striking precisely at that spiritual energy.
Both forces exploded more than thirty feet away from Han Li, transforming into a towering pillar of green and black wind. From a distance, it was truly an astonishing sight! Han Li swept his gaze across to the opposite side, and his eyes slightly narrowed. He saw that above the other silver battleship on the opposite side, four individuals of varying appearances had suddenly appeared.
One of them was a pale-faced, barefooted strange man, in front of whom floated a transparent, bizarre blade. He was looking at Han Li with a hint of surprise in his eyes. It seemed the recent sneak attack had come from him. The other three were an old woman, a dwarf, and a wild-looking giant man clad in animal skins.
Han Li's eyes narrowed. With a sweep of his spiritual sense, he immediately discovered that the attacking strange man was a mid-Spirit Transformation stage cultivator, while the other three were early Spirit Transformation stage cultivators.
However, he had clearly scanned the vicinity just moments before, and these four individuals hadn't been present. Where had they suddenly appeared from? Although Spirit Transformation stage cultivators were a bit troublesome, Han Li didn't take them too seriously. However, he was somewhat curious about their mysterious appearance.
"You're quite bold, daring to destroy our Jiaochi Tribe's battleship. From your appearance, you're not one of the Thirteen Skycloud Tribes. But it doesn't matter; we'll capture you and interrogate you thoroughly later," the pale-faced strange man said coldly. Then, his gaze swept over, and he turned to look elsewhere.
There, the long-haired foreigner re-emerged from the golden sphere. His expression changed drastically to one of extreme unpleasantness upon seeing the four Spirit Transformation stage cultivators.
"Mister Jia, I hear you're not a pure-blooded member of the Eternal Tribe. If that's the case, why bother working for the Thirteen Skycloud Tribes? When we left, several elders in our tribe specifically mentioned your name and and spoke highly of your mastery of puppet arts. They also said that if you're willing to submit to the Jiaochi Tribe, the elders are willing to go to any lengths to perform blood and marrow cleansing for you, giving you our tribe's bloodline. They even guarantee that they will help you advance to at least the peak of the Upper Tribes. If you truly have great fortune, it's even possible to become a Sacred Tribe level being," the pale-faced strange man said to the long-haired foreigner with a much softer tone and a respectful demeanor.
"Submit to you? I, Jia, have no interest in that. Although my bloodline isn't pure, the elders of my tribe have shown me great kindness. I won't change allegiance to another tribe. One half of your intention to capture me alive is certainly for my puppet crafting techniques," Jia Tianmu said with a blank expression, shaking his head after a brief contemplation. "And the other half isn't for some secret information about the Thirteen Skycloud Tribes, is it?"
"Mister Jia, do you think you still have a chance to escape from here? Although your guardian puppets are powerful, the spirit stones used to power them were probably almost depleted during your last breakthrough. As for Mister Jia's own cultivation, it poses no threat to us. We also don't wish to resort to force, so Mister Jia, please surrender yourself," the strange man said with a continued smile, not angered by Jia Tianmu's outright refusal. Jia Tianmu's expression didn't change at all upon hearing this, but he glanced at Han Li beside him. "What, does Mister Jia still hope for this person to rescue you? Very well, we four will deal with this meddlesome individual first," the pale-faced strange man said faintly after a slight pause upon seeing Jia Tianmu's expression. Immediately, his expression turned stern, and he looked at Han Li again. "Will you surrender obediently, or shall we destroy your physical body and just take your primordial spirit back?" the strange man said indifferently. Han Li's pupils contracted upon hearing this question, but he immediately laughed. "Your tone is quite big, gentlemen. But I wonder if your divine abilities are as great as your tone." Han Li said with a half-smile.
The strange man was somewhat surprised by Han Li's words. He gazed intently at Han Li for a moment, then suddenly his expression changed as if recalling something. He abruptly turned to ask the old woman among the other three:
"He looks somewhat familiar. Isn't he the person Envoy Tu sent a message for us to capture a few days ago?"
"Brother Xin, now that you mention it, indeed! He truly is identical to the image! We should be careful; since this person could escape from Envoy Tu, his divine abilities must be considerable," the old woman also looked at Han Li several times, a cold glint flashing in her eyes, and slowly nodded. The other two showed surprise upon hearing the old woman's words.
"Haha, is it really him? If so, then our squad's trip was certainly worthwhile; we can achieve two great merits at once! Speaking of which, we owe it to this person for shooting down the other battleship, otherwise, if the other team had also teleported over, our merits would have been halved for nothing," the giant man clad in animal skins suddenly burst into wild laughter.
"Hmph, Fellow Daoist Li is quite confident, but this person isn't made of clay, and his divine abilities are not inferior to ours. Don't be careless later, or you might suffer a great loss," the dwarf, less than three feet tall, snorted coldly, reminding him. "Heh heh, no matter how great his divine abilities are, can he really fight against the four of us alone?" The giant man chuckled, appearing completely unconcerned. "A head-on confrontation certainly isn't a match for the four of us, but if he insists on escaping, are you sure you can stop him?" The dwarf scoffed, speaking in a huffy tone.
