Chapter 1587: Chased To

Volume Seven: Traversing the Human Realm — Volume Nine: A Hundred Clans of the Spirit Realm

Meanwhile, as the middle-aged man demonstrated his formidable power, elsewhere, the green-skinned man transformed into a blurry shadow, moving with incredible speed across the ground, his figure expertly concealed. Since he was unable to fly, he remained within several hundred miles of Greenlight City.

Despite this, the green-skinned man showed little concern, confident in his race's innate ability to conceal themselves. He believed that no ordinary Horned-Chi tribe member could detect him, unless they were a Saint-tier existence.

Consequently, ever since he parted ways with Han Li and the others, the ink-green tribesman's mind had been preoccupied with the jade box he received from the Big-headed Man. He continuously speculated about its contents, wondering what could possibly be valuable enough to exchange for the "Myriad Wonders Pill," an item he had long coveted. He also secretly pondered whether opening the box might yield even greater benefits.

Unbeknownst to the green-skinned man, a purplish shadow moved silently beneath the ground behind him, following relentlessly. Within it, a pair of cold, unblinking eyes observed his every move.

A short while later, the purplish entity seemed to have completed its observation. It suddenly twisted, transforming into a purple thread, and burrowed beneath the green-skinned man. Just as the green-skinned man leaped and landed, a thunderous explosion erupted, and the ground suddenly shattered! A pair of massive hands, glowing with crimson light, shot out and clamped onto his ankles.

The ink-green tribesman was, of course, greatly alarmed, but his reaction was swift. A spiritual light immediately flashed across his body, and he twisted fiercely, attempting to break free by manipulating an escape light. However, the hands gripping his ankles, though seemingly ordinary, were as unyielding as steel clamps. The green-skinned man felt an intense pain in his feet, unable to move a muscle.

At this, his expression finally changed drastically. He immediately opened his mouth, and a beam of white light shot downwards, striking one of the hands at the wrist.

However, a 'clang' of metal reverberated. The white light receded, and a small, several-inch-long sword bounced back up.

The hand remained completely unharmed, even by a flying sword.

The green-skinned man gasped in shock. He immediately formed a hand seal, seemingly intending to unleash another potent technique. But it was already too late.

After an utterly unfamiliar cold snort, with a 'whoosh,' an eerie crimson light flared from the hand, instantly enveloping the green-skinned man.

Wherever the red light touched, the surrounding ground instantly glowed red, dissolving into molten lava due to the intense heat! A pained shriek immediately followed.

The ink-green tribesman's protective spiritual light flickered a few times before violently igniting and burning away within the crimson glow.

Almost simultaneously, near a different dense forest, two Horned-Chi Void Refinement stage cultivators hovered in the air, conversing in low tones. Four Feathered-Dragons circled farther away, searching for something.

"This individual is truly cunning. His aura vanished the moment we approached this area. Even the Feathered-Dragons can't pinpoint his location. This could be problematic." One of the cultivators, observing that the Feathered-Dragons had found nothing, showed a hint of anxiety.

"There's no need to worry. That individual is merely at the same cultivation stage as us. To conceal his aura so completely means he must be hiding nearby and refusing to emerge. If that's the case, we can simply wear him down. Once the two Lords arrive, we'll see where he can possibly hide." The other cultivator remained exceptionally calm, speaking with a smile.

"It seems that's our only option!" The first man replied, somewhat reluctantly, but nodded nonetheless.

Meanwhile, hidden within an unassuming large tree in the dense forest, the Big-headed Man stood, his brow furrowed. He was cloaked in a peculiar grey garment that completely masked his aura.

In other directions, within a mountain range, a faint, dazzling streak of light shot forward.

Inside the shimmering light, an alien adorned in scales and possessing a crocodile-like head was meticulously guiding his escape light.

Several miles behind him, two other Horned-Chi Void Refinement stage cultivators, aboard a multi-zhang-long flying chariot, covertly tailed him. Further behind the chariot, four Feathered-Dragons cautiously trailed.

With Greenlight City as the central point, Void Refinement stage aliens in all four directions were almost simultaneously targeted for elimination or pursuit by high-tier Horned-Chi entities.

Han Li was no exception.

At this moment, he hovered high in the sky, a hint of surprise on his face as he stared at the low-altitude area below.

Two Feathered-Dragons were circling erratically a few dozen zhang below.

These two peculiar dragons, which he was seeing for the first time, had flown to this spot moments ago, and seemed to be searching for something, as if they knew he was nearby.

However, Han Li was still in the etherealized state granted by the Taiyi Clearification Talisman, so the two strange dragons naturally couldn't pinpoint his true location.

They merely flew back and forth nearby like headless flies.

Han Li stroked his chin. His gaze swept around, finding no other Horned-Chi pursuers nearby. A sharp glint appeared in his eyes as he instinctively considered whether to intervene and eliminate these two nuisances.

These two Feathered-Dragons were merely Nascent Soul stage beings, no match for him in his current state. However, he had only flown about a thousand miles from Greenlight City. If any Integration stage cultivators truly existed within the Horned-Chi tribe and were still monitoring this direction with their divine sense, taking action now could still risk exposing his whereabouts.

After repeated deliberation, Han Li ultimately dismissed the thought with a subconscious shake of his head. He shifted his body, intending to quietly depart without further engagement. However, an unexpected turn of events occurred.

As Han Li floated a dozen zhang away, a peculiar purple light suddenly flashed across his body. His etherealized form instantly solidified, revealing his figure in mid-air. The Taiyi Clearification Talisman he had used had, at that precise moment, lost its efficacy. This unexpected development left Han Li momentarily stunned.

The instant Han Li's figure materialized, the two Feathered-Dragons immediately sensed his presence. They looked up, clearly discerning Han Li.

They immediately let out joyous long cries, then spread their wings and aggressively charged straight towards Han Li.

Han Li felt a pang of frustration, but his expression darkened. He formed a hand seal with one hand, and with a clap of thunder from behind him, a pair of crystalline feathered wings materialized.

He then gazed down at the two peculiar dragons and let out a cold snort.

The snort seemed ordinary, yet the moment it reached the Feathered-Dragons' ears, it struck them like a bolt of lightning from a clear sky.

Immediately, they felt an agonizing pain in their heads, as if they had been split in two. Involuntarily, they each let out a shriek as their bodies tumbled and plummeted towards the ground.

At that moment, Han Li's wings flared, transforming him into a blue-white arc of electricity that vanished into the distance.

The next moment, space distorted beneath one of the Feathered-Dragons, and Han Li's figure mysteriously reappeared. With a single hand, he swept it through the air towards the beast.

Instantly, a stream of azure sword light materialized from the void, encompassing the Feathered-Dragon and cleaving it in two. Its very essence soul was instantly annihilated by the sword light! Han Li's form twisted, transforming into a wisp of green silk that vanished once more.

The next moment, space rippled beside the other Feathered-Dragon, and Han Li's figure materialized almost directly beside the beast.

A palm as pristine as jade gently pressed onto the peculiar dragon's body. Instantly, a surge of five-colored light and flame erupted, transforming the beast into a colossal five-colored ice block.

Immediately after, Han Li's five fingers flashed with golden light, and several golden electrical arcs shot forth, encasing the ice block. The Feathered-Dragon, frozen within the ice, fractured inch by inch amidst the pulsating golden light.

A green wisp of light attempted to escape from the shattering corpse, but an unexpected strike from a golden arc caused it to instantly dissipate.

Thus, Han Li dispatched both Feathered-Dragons in little more than a single breath.

He then departed without delay, transforming into a green rainbow that shot towards the distant horizon, abandoning any further attempts to conceal his presence.

In his estimation, if there were no Integration stage cultivators within the Horned-Chi tribe, his tracks would be undiscoverable, rendering further concealment unnecessary. If there were, even his swift actions just now would likely have alerted such powerful beings, making the Taiyi Clearification Talisman useless anyway. It would be better to simply accelerate his escape.

The instant the Feathered-Dragons abruptly plummeted, the Horned-Chi elder and the middle-aged man, stationed in two different locations, simultaneously sensed the disturbance and cast their gazes towards Han Li's direction.

At the elder's feet, a jumbled pile of items lay scattered across the ground, and one of his hands clasped a jade box. The elder's eyes narrowed slightly as he gazed in Han Li's direction, a thoughtful expression on his face.

However, a moment later, he suddenly flicked his sleeve. The large pile of items at his feet and the jade box in his hand instantly vanished in a burst of shimmering light. He then ascended into the air, transforming into a crimson light that streaked directly towards Han Li's position.

Meanwhile, the middle-aged man, having completed his task earlier, was heading in a different direction.

Although he repeatedly glanced back towards Han Li's location, he ultimately shook his head. He continued to streak away in his current direction, yet his escape speed imperceptibly increased by more than half.

He was fast approaching another target's location and naturally wouldn't halt his current pursuit to turn back towards Han Li. He intended to deal with the immediate objective first, believing it wouldn't be too late to return later.

Thus, among the two most powerful Horned-Chi pursuers, only one initially set off in pursuit of Han Li. The speed at which a cultivator of this caliber could travel at full flight was simply astonishing.

Barely fifteen minutes after Han Li dispatched the Feathered-Dragons and streaked away as a dazzling rainbow, he sensed something. Turning his head, his expression subtly changed.

At the edge of the sky, a crimson light flashed, and a streak of scarlet escape light surged directly towards him.

This crimson light moved like a phantom; in a single flash, it appeared over a hundred zhang away. Seemingly flickering in and out of existence, its escape speed appeared to be roughly double Han Li's current pace. A blue glint flashed in Han Li's eyes, and he clearly discerned a faint human figure within. His divine sense instantly swept forth, causing his expression to tighten involuntarily.

It was indeed an Integration stage cultivator! Fortunately, it seemed to be only an early-stage Integration cultivator. Even if he couldn't defeat it, escaping certainly wouldn't be an issue.
