Chapter 1383: 抢果

The giant's face across from him flashed with savagery. With a single movement, the dark club on its shoulder was instantly gripped in its hand, and the eyeballs covering its body glowed brightly, even blinking rhythmically.

Such a multitude of eyeballs moving simultaneously across its body would send shivers down anyone's spine.

Seeing this from the air, Han Li's heart, however, filled with joy, and he held his breath.

Han Li's expression hardened as he scrutinized it, realizing it was a silver puppet with a dragon-human form.

However, the puppet's core had been instantly pierced by the colossal lizard's terrifying long tongue, causing nearly half of its body to self-destruct, reducing it to a pile of scrap metal.

It seemed the puppet's actions had exposed its presence the moment it moved, leading to its destruction by the giant lizard.

Although the Thousand-Eyed Giant across from it wasn't highly intelligent, it was momentarily stunned by this sight. Then, its eyeballs rotated, and in a flash, countless black threads shot forth from its eyes.

Another roar echoed as a second puppet, concealed beneath the giant, was simultaneously pierced by seven or eight black lines.

It was unclear what these black lines were, but after fanning out, they shredded the several-zhang-tall puppet into pieces, appearing utterly indestructible.

Witnessing this scene, Han Li gasped, his eyes flickering with thought.

It seemed the dangers of this trip far exceeded his expectations. However, since the Ganoderma Lucidum fruit was crucial for obtaining future Void Refinement-level spiritual medicines, he had no choice but to brave the risk, no matter how great.

Sure enough, within moments, a pleasant pipa sound emanated from above the giant lizard's head. Then, rings of yellow light appeared in the air, descending directly towards the lizard's crown. Simultaneously, a flash of white light revealed two platinum short halberds. With a shake, two massive white rainbow-like flood dragons seemed to burst from the water, slashing wildly downwards from the sky.

Almost concurrently, two figures appeared dozens of zhang in the air: the white-robed maiden and Long Dong.

The maiden, however, was lightly plucking the imitation spirit treasure pipa with one hand, while Long Dong gravely controlled the two treasures.

Despite its immense size, the giant lizard moved with incredible agility. The instant the aerial attack appeared, it immediately let out a low roar and stood up. Its crimson monstrous horn flashed with red light, suddenly releasing a sheet of red mist that spun rapidly, simultaneously supporting both the yellow light rings and the two white rainbows.

Next, green light flickered on the lizard's arms, followed by loud "thwipping" sounds as a patch of foot-long stiff hairs transformed into emerald streaks and shot into the air. Simultaneously, its massive tail flickered in place, leaving only an afterimage as it abruptly vanished.

The next moment, the giant lizard's tail, over twenty zhang long, inexplicably appeared beside the maiden and Long Dong. It swept fiercely towards them; even before it made contact, a violent gust of wind erupted, engulfing both of them.

True to its nature as a mutated ancient beast, the giant lizard's counterattack, once provoked, was relentlessly sharp, like a furious storm.

Although they knew the giant lizard would be formidable, both the white-robed maiden and Long Dong were still greatly startled.

Fortunately, neither of them had any intention of engaging the beast in a head-on confrontation.

The maiden immediately raised her hand, sending forth a golden talisman that transformed into a ball of golden light, enveloping her. She then vanished like a ghost, reappearing eerily over thirty zhang away in another spot.

Long Dong, meanwhile, let out a dragon's roar and whistle. A shimmering yellow battle armor instantly materialized on him, covered entirely in metallic scales, fully enveloping his head and limbs, making him impervious to wind and rain. A pair of large bronze wings extended from his back.

With a flap of his wings, a series of afterimages immediately appeared in the air. From a distance, it looked as if countless figures densely populated a significant portion of the sky, creating an astonishing display of power.

Both the green light streaks and the giant lizard's tail were swept aside by their remarkably elusive escape techniques.

However, the two dared not pause for even a moment in the air. The emerald streaks, after a single turn, seemed to pursue them telepathically, refusing to let go. Meanwhile, after a burst of strange light, the enormous tail began to flicker in and out of semi-invisibility, generating gusts of hurricane-force winds that relentlessly chased them.

For a time, the giant lizard and the two figures engaged in a relentless pursuit.

Although the giant lizard's attention was largely focused on the two figures, a small portion of its mind remained constantly vigilant of the Thousand-Eyed Giant, its major adversary, fearing the giant might seize the spiritual fruit. However, upon observing, it felt somewhat relieved.

It turned out that the moment the lizard and the two figures in the air initiated their attack, two more individuals simultaneously appeared high in the sky behind the giant.

One person rubbed their hands together, then flung them outwards, causing a dense swarm of black fireballs to surge forward. The other simply grabbed at the void in this direction, and a massive, dark, glistening claw materialized above the giant's head, clawing down fiercely.

A rumbling sound followed. The giant seemed to have no time to react, as it was struck squarely by the many fireballs. Simultaneously, the black giant claw landed on its crown.

The young woman and the white-browed youth were initially stunned, then overjoyed.

However, the next scene instantly froze their smiles.

From within the black flames, the giant suddenly let out a furious roar. Its silver-white eyeballs then spun rapidly, instantly generating an invisible force that completely absorbed all the black flames clinging to its body, making them vanish without a trace.

As for the massive claw conjured by the white-browed youth's divine ability, it appeared to have not harmed the giant in the slightest. The Thousand-Eyed Giant seemed utterly unconcerned, casually swatting the claw away with a backhanded sweep, reducing it to dust.

Such powerful abilities naturally caused the young woman and the white-browed youth's hearts to sink.

However, their attacks had clearly enraged the enormous monster.

A grim expression appeared on the giant's face. Amidst its roars, its silver eyeballs, having absorbed the black flames, immediately rotated to fix their gaze on the two figures in the air.

As strange brown lights flickered, dense black light filaments erupted, enveloping both of them.

Both the young woman and the white-browed youth had witnessed the formidable power of the black light filaments earlier. Seeing them approach, their expressions changed drastically, and they dared not allow them to touch them in the slightest.

Immediately, one of them took out an object and threw it downwards. It instantly transformed into a green light shuttle, which they phased into with a flicker of their body, then shot away in a flash.

The other person instantly rolled, transforming into a large, purple-black giant eagle, about a zhang in size. With a spread of its wings, it also teleported away.

Clearly, these two demons had also planned from the outset to evade and stall, with no intention of confronting the giant head-on.

For a time, Long Dong and the young woman, along with their two companions, furiously channeled their spiritual energy, darting around in the sky above the giant lizard and the giant. Otherwise, even with their astonishing escape techniques, the four could not possibly endure the relentless assault of Void Refinement-level monsters for long. As it was, whenever they encountered danger, they could instantly teleport to a great distance and catch their breath.

This allowed them to barely manage to keep skirmishing around the giant lizard and the giant.

The result of this tactic, however, naturally infuriated the two monsters.

Yet, the four figures were incredibly elusive, and the monsters adamantly refused to move even an inch away from the spiritual fruit, thus creating a genuine stalemate.

As the four successfully provoked them, the giant lizard's and the giant's attention gradually shifted towards them, leaving less than ten or twenty percent of their focus on the spiritual fruit.

Under these circumstances, Han Li's figure was quietly drifting downwards. With his etherealized body, even the two Void Refinement-level monsters couldn't detect him in the slightest, which was Han Li's greatest confidence in taking on this mission.

Even so, Han Li was extremely cautious, not daring to take a single deep breath.

As he watched his figure slowly approach the cluster of Ganoderma Lucidum fruits below, descending from a hundred zhang, to seventy or eighty, then thirty or forty, and finally just over ten zhang, his heart naturally raced.

Two earth-shattering roars erupted. A crimson shadow and several black threads shot out from the nearby void at an incredible speed, almost simultaneously, piercing straight through Han Li's body.

However, the "Han Li" figure immediately disintegrated and vanished, revealing it was merely an afterimage.

His true body had barely managed to teleport away a moment before.

Several booming sounds followed. A few acres-large silver electrical spheres suddenly appeared on both sides. Countless bowl-sized electrical arcs furiously flashed and bounced within them, even causing hurricanes to surge skyward nearby. Thunderous explosions reverberated endlessly, as if engulfing everything.

The sheer might of it was as if the heavens and earth were collapsing!
