Chapter 1148: Qingyu

Volume 6: Heaven-Reaching Spirit Treasures

Han Li floated in the distance, showing no immediate intention of returning to his original spot. After a moment of hesitation, he slowly closed his eyes. A powerful spiritual sense instantly spread out, enveloping an area of one hundred miles around him.

There was no unusual phenomenon in the sky; the unusually large gigantic bird had indeed vanished without a trace.

Han Li no longer hesitated. A surge of spiritual sense plunged directly into the seabed, probing downwards.

After a long while, Han Li suddenly opened his eyes, a hint of surprise on his face.

He pondered for a moment, then suddenly slapped the storage pouch at his waist. Amidst a flash of silver light, a pale blue figure appeared before him—it was the humanoid puppet.

"Go," Han Li instructed coldly, sweeping his sleeve towards the distance.

The humanoid puppet immediately transformed into a large silver streak and shot towards the distant sea surface. Its escape speed was so fast that it had traveled several miles after just a few blinks.

After a short while, the silver streak reached the location where the ghostly mist had originally appeared and plunged downwards without hesitation. The escaping light flashed, disappearing beneath the sea surface and heading straight for the deep seabed.

Meanwhile, Han Li sat cross-legged in mid-air, connecting his spiritual sense with the puppet's divided spirit. He manipulated the humanoid puppet as if it were his own clone.

The nearby seabed was much deeper than normal areas. The humanoid puppet descended four to five thousand feet before reaching the very bottom.

However, it was empty here, with no sign of any demonic beasts. Yet, the vicinity was suspiciously clean; there were no coral or seaweed, and the area was unusually flat as far as the eye could see, with no undulations in the terrain whatsoever.

After circling the area for a long time, the humanoid puppet suddenly shot off in a certain direction, its escape light flaring.

A moment later, a greenish light cluster was discovered floating ahead, several miles away.

The light cluster moved with a rising and falling motion, as if it possessed great sentience.

The humanoid puppet's wooden eyes burst forth with purple light. Its escape speed doubled, and after a few blinks, it caught up to the light cluster, remaining only a dozen feet behind it.

At this point, it was clear that within the light cluster was a feather about a丈 long, flickering between bright and dim, radiating a faint spiritual glow, as if it were a living creature.

The silver light around the humanoid puppet flashed again, and it instantly appeared above the feather. Without hesitation, it reached out to grasp the object.

However, something entirely unexpected occurred!

The moment the puppet's silver-glowing fingertips touched the green light, the green feather suddenly blazed with light. In a blur, it vanished from its spot, as if it had escaped into thin air.

The puppet grabbed nothing but empty space!

The humanoid puppet’s body stiffened for a moment, appearing somewhat surprised itself.

But the next instant, about thirty feet away, a green light flashed, and the spiritual object serenely reappeared, as if it wasn't the one that had just performed the instantaneous teleportation.

This time, the puppet coldly stared at the green feather and did not act rashly. The spiritual object, however, began to drift further away again.

Yet, the puppet's observation did not last long. When the green cluster had drifted over a hundred feet away, it acted again.

Amidst a burst of silver light, the puppet transformed into a silver streak and appeared above the feather. This time, it did not directly grab with its hand but waved its single hand downwards into the empty space.

A brilliant silver light hand appeared, reaching out to grab downwards.

The same scene unfolded: the green light trembled, and the feather instantly disappeared again.

But this time, as it reappeared somewhere nearby, a thunderous roar erupted above its head. A golden lightning net descended directly, enveloping the spiritual object with lightning speed.

The feather's spiritual light flickered wildly several times, attempting to teleport repeatedly. However, each time it vanished, it would collide head-on with the golden lightning net, and then be unceremoniously bounced back by the golden light, its teleportation ability completely suppressed.

At this moment, above the golden lightning net, a figure strangely flickered into existence—it was Han Li himself, who had also arrived at the seabed.

Han Li stared at the green feather within the golden net, letting out a few amazed sounds.

This object truly seemed extraordinary!

Not only was it exceptionally verdant with a misty green glow, but upon closer inspection, the surface patterns were formed by mysterious talismans of various shapes, densely packed and shimmering.

However, a small section at the tip of this feather was scorched, and at its base, there were several streaks of blood, which strangely shimmered with faint golden light.

Seeing the appearance of the green feather, Han Li immediately realized how precious this item was! A look of delight crossed his face. He slapped his waist, and several talismans appeared in his palm.

He tossed one talisman towards the net with a flick of his hand. But with a flash of green light, the feather seemed like a phantom, allowing the talisman to pass right through it.

Han Li was startled, but then, instead of anger, joy spread across his face.

The object's profound spiritual nature only made it seem more extraordinary.

He immediately formed hand seals, chanting incantations.

The golden lightning net rapidly shrank amidst the incantations, finally reducing to about a丈 in diameter. This left the green feather nowhere to escape within the net.

Then, he opened his mouth and sprayed a blob of vital blood onto the talismans in his hand. Simultaneously, a series of magic spells were cast, each flashing and disappearing into the talismans.

When he shot these talismans out again, although the green feather in the golden net continued to tremble, these talismans now solidly adhered to it.

The green light dimmed, and the feather suddenly became plain and unadorned.

Only then did Han Li feel relieved. He retracted the Evil-Repelling Divine Thunder, reached out with one hand, and drew the suspended green feather into his grasp.

After examining it carefully, he suddenly raised an eyebrow and gently pointed a finger at it.

An incredible scene unfolded!

Amidst a faint spiritual glow, the green feather rapidly shrank. In a moment, it became about a foot in size.

And the talismans attached to its surface also changed and shrank accordingly... quite miraculously.

Han Li's expression shifted. He held the object by its base with one hand and gently shook it a few times:

Instantly, layers of clear light shimmered on the feather's surface, and an incredibly powerful wind spiritual energy emanated from it.

The purity of this spiritual energy made it impossible for Han Li to conceal his joy!

Now was not the time to consider the item's purpose. Han Li placed the spiritual object into a jade box, then into his storage pouch. He then had the humanoid puppet search the surroundings again, but this time, there was no harvest whatsoever.

However, Han Li was already satisfied. He did not linger in this sea area any longer. He put away the humanoid puppet and transformed into a streak of light, flying away from the location.

During his journey to Emerald Spirit Island, Han Li began to carefully ponder the matters of the gigantic bird and the ghostly mist.

It was clear that the battle he witnessed was far beyond the scope of human cultivators. The gigantic bird must have been a formidable demonic creature from the Spirit Realm or another realm, and the ghostly mist was actually alive, appearing even more powerful than the gigantic bird.

This had greatly astonished Han Li at the time!

In the Human Realm, creatures with such incredible divine abilities could only be those legendary demonic entities.

When he was trapped in the Netherworld back then, he had secretly suspected that the ghostly mist was related to the Netherworld and the demon called Luomian. After all, only such half-spirit, half-demon beings possessed the incredible ability to easily tear through space and traverse between realms.

That incredibly large gigantic bird also seemed to possess similar heaven-defying abilities; otherwise, it wouldn't have been able to forcefully attack the ghostly mist across the power of realms.

With Han Li's current experience, coupled with the numerous ancient texts he had read, he could mostly guess the truth of the matter.

However, no matter how much he guessed, terrifying existences like Luomian were naturally beyond his control. He could only treat it as an extraordinary experience.

One day, two months later, Han Li was flying over the sea when his expression suddenly shifted. He slightly adjusted his direction and shot towards a certain area.

He had only flown a few miles when bursts of explosions reached him from ahead.

Not far in front, spiritual light flickered continuously. Three cultivators were desperately fending off the pursuit of a high-level demonic beast. Among the three, only one was at the early Core Formation stage, while the other two were at the late Foundation Establishment stage. However, the demonic beast was a Level Six demonic beast. Even with the three of them working together, they could barely protect themselves.

Han Li quietly stopped his escape light and carefully observed the battle.

The Core Formation cultivator was a middle-aged man wearing a bamboo hat that concealed most of his face. His face seemed dark, and he wielded a golden flying sword with considerable skill, almost single-handedly fending off most of the demonic beast's attacks. The other two late Foundation Establishment cultivators were a white-haired old man and a young woman of seventeen or eighteen. They were wielding a green flying trident and a crimson fire wheel, respectively, both of which possessed considerable power.

As for the Level Six demonic beast opposite them, it was shrouded in white mist, and a "wuwu" sound like a baby's cry emanated from its mouth. From the mist, blue lightning orbs shot out in clusters. It was precisely the "Infant Carp Beast" he had first encountered in the Scattered Star Seas.

However, this beast was a full circle larger than the one he had seen before, and its four pale, tender arms clutched four rather extraordinary treasures.

A saber, a sword, a drum, and a flag.

Among these four treasures, the saber, sword, and flag were merely rare, top-tier magic tools. However, the misty yellow small drum was a genuine ancient treasure. As it was wielded, circles of silver ripples sprayed out in all directions, seemingly possessing considerable power.

Han Li's arrival clearly caught the attention of both sides simultaneously. Upon seeing Han Li's human face, the man in the bamboo hat immediately cried out with delight, without thinking much:

"I am Chen Jing from Thunder Empty Island! Fellow Daoist, if you are willing to help, I, Chen, will greatly reward you afterward!" Because he was being pressed so hard by the demonic beast, this man didn't even have the leisure to scan Han Li's cultivation with his spiritual sense, simply assuming Han Li was a passing Core Formation cultivator.

After all, Han Li's previous escape light intensity was indeed similar to that of an ordinary Core Formation cultivator, not revealing any overly dazzling brilliance.

Meanwhile, the Infant Carp Beast, which had already advanced to Level Six, had partially awakened its intelligence.

After scanning Han Li's cultivation with its spiritual sense from within the water mist, the beast's baby-like face instantly revealed an expression of extreme terror. As Han Li smiled slightly, before he could respond to the cultivators, the beast let out a strange cry. Suddenly, a hundred bolts of lightning erupted from the water mist. A hundred blue lightning orbs simultaneously shot towards the three cultivators it was fighting. The beast itself, however, suddenly shot out from the water mist and plummeted like a meteor towards the sea below.
